Radical Liberals are to Blame for the banking crisis we are in

In case you really want to know, the cause of the banking, liquidity, Wall Street and AIG roots all in the administration of the worst President this nation has ever had. Jimmy Carter. Clinton continued the policies. George Bush and John McCain tried to correct the problem but the Radical Liberals in Congress wouldn't hear of it.

I know some of you will doubt this. This article from Investor's Business Daily:

To hear today's Democrats, you'd think all this started in the last couple years. But the crisis began much earlier. The Carter-era Community Reinvestment Act forced banks to lend to uncreditworthy borrowers, mostly in minority areas.

Age-old standards of banking prudence got thrown out the window. In their place came harsh new regulations requiring banks not only to lend to uncreditworthy borrowers, but to do so on the basis of race.

These well-intended rules were supercharged in the early 1990s by President Clinton. Despite warnings from GOP members of Congress in 1992, Clinton pushed extensive changes to the rules requiring lenders to make questionable loans.

Lenders who refused would find themselves castigated publicly as racists. As noted this week in an IBD editorial, no fewer than four federal bank regulators scrutinized financial firms' books to make sure they were in compliance.

Failure to comply meant your bank might not be allowed to expand lending, add new branches or merge with other companies. Banks were given a so-called "CRA rating" that graded how diverse their lending portfolio was.

It was economic hardball.

Read the whole thing and then decide how accurate the "Not Me" Pelosi plea was. She is a pitiful leader and her type must be put out of office. She's a disgrace.

The radical economic agenda particularly as is propounded by Barack Obama is dangerous to your economic health. We've just seen the evidence of it.

The Marriage of Todd and Sarah Palin in Submission Order

The order of marriage is one I didn't make up. It's right from the book of Ephesians. It's perfect. I write a great deal about it in my little booklet on marriage that is linked to the left.

Every word is still true.

In the Palin household, Todd is spiritual leader, head of the house, the man, the one who represents Jesus, the one who is protector and provider and the one who encourages greatness and discourages rebellion. How do I know? It's a scriptural order that unless the Palins were asleep in the pew for 20 years they would have heard. It's taught in the kind of Church the Palin's attended.

In the country, Sarah Palin may well become president of the USA. As such she will be the Chief Executive officer of the nation. But in the Palin home she will still be submitted by choice to the Man God placed in her life to rule over her.

I admire the order I see in their lives. I admire how much they love each other and their children. I know they have had challenges.

What I really admire is the model of a submitted wife who can become President of the USA and in that Todd is submitted to her role as POTUS as he is now in her role as Governor. Yet in his role as leader in the home she can rest in voluntary submission.

There is no 50 50 in marriage. It's 100 100. It's not a democracy. It never was supposed to be. It's supposed to look like the relationship between Jesus and his Church. That's not supposed to be a democracy either.

Sarah Palin is proving you don't have to be a ball busting witch spelled with a b to have a home in order and still aspire to the highest office in the land. I hope women across the USA are paying attention. I wish they would read the book. If they have one of those big 66 book books I would refer them to Timothy, Ephesians, and Proverbs for a start.

If they don't want to read those, my little booklet on the side will be a good introduction. Not a word doesn't come directly from the Big Book. I used a double negative for emphasis. Sorry Miss Onsrud.

Susan Estrich has a tiny crush - Todd Palin

I think the commentary by Susan Estrich sounds a lot like she is somewhat Smitten with First Dude Todd Palin.

I think maybe a lot of women are. He's handsome, rugged and a Man's man. And sounds like Susan's man.

A funny thing is happening on the way to this election. Actually, I am not laughing. The Palins are out there rolling their eyes at people who actually get protected in all these various banking bailouts, because it certainly seems that ultimately the only people who made out and then got bailed out were the big-money guys. Lehman and Bear Stearns don't just pop out when you're thinking about what the modern American dream means today.

Obama is in Beverly Hills, cavorting with Barbra Streisand not because he'd rather do that than snowmobiling, but because in fact he must. But the mere fact that he can is damning, not to mention time-consuming.

So the Republican are the populists on billionaire bailouts and the Democrats are debating the fundamentals of the economy. Why not blame the Republicans for the deregulation that led to the crisis? Why not point out who has been president for the last eight years, as things have gotten out of control and fallen apart?

First Dude sounds like the kind of guy many girls in this country aimed to marry, and some of them actually did, and even those who didn't (or aren't) think well of him anyway. He 's a regular guy in a posse of anything but.

I will confess, I like Susan Estrich and when she is brought into a commentary always seems measured. Her article is here.

An Invocation against Witchcraft from St Patrick

This is a prayer prayed by St Patrick as a protection against persecution. It is said that when his persecutors came to kill him, The Lord Blinded them and when they saw them, they saw deer. The Prayer is called the Lorica. That means shield or breastplate in Latin. It was read tonight at the opening of the house of Prayer as an invocation. I was moved by it's power and print it here for your consideration and use. Any Christian can confess these truths as protection. I do, I have those who would persecute me. I invoke this prayer as protection against their witchcraft.

I arise today
through a mighty strength,
the invocation of the Trinity,
through belief in the Threeness,
through confession of the Oneness of the Creator of creation.

I arise today
through the strength of Christ with His Baptism,
through the strength of His Crucifixion with His Burial,
through the strength of His Resurrection with His Ascension,
through the strength of His descent for the Judgment of Doom.

I arise today
through the strength of the love of Cherubim,
in obedience of Angels, in the service of the Archangels,
in hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
in prayers of Patriarchs, in predictions of Prophets,
in preachings of Apostles, in faiths of Confessors,
in innocence of Holy Virgins, in deeds of righteous men.

I arise today
through the strength of Heaven:
light of Sun, brilliance of Moon, splendor of Fire,
speed of Lightning, swiftness of Wind, depth of Sea,
stability of Earth, firmness of Rock.

I arise today
through God's strength to pilot me:
God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me, God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me, God's shield to protect me,
God's host to secure me:
against snares of devils,
against temptations of vices,
against inclinations of nature,
against everyone who shall wish me ill,
afar and anear, alone and in a crowd.

I summon today all these powers between me (and these evils):
against every cruel and merciless power that may oppose my body and my soul,
against incantations of false prophets,
against black laws of heathenry,
against false laws of heretics,
against craft of idolatry,
against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
against every knowledge that endangers man's body and soul.
Christ to protect me today
against poison, against burning,
against drowning, against wounding,
so that there may come abundance of reward.

Christ with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me, Christ in me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ in breadth, Christ in length, Christ in height,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.

I arise today
through a mighty strength,
the invocation of the Trinity,
through belief in the Threeness,
through confession of the Oneness of the Creator of creation.

Salvation is of the Lord.
Salvation is of the Lord.
Salvation is of Christ.
May Thy Salvation, O Lord, be ever with us.

Good Advice from the Master about TODAY

Jesus Speaking,

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

Still good advice.

Hillary Clinton acts like a Third Grade Girlie

I have admired Hillary Clinton. If she had won the nomination the race would be all over. But she didn't. I kind of felt sorry for her.

Then I read this story.

Hillary is invited to an Anti Iran Support Israel rally. She is a friend of Israel. That makes sense.

They also invite Sarah Palin. Also a friend of Israel. Hillary was miffed. Stomped out and said that if Sarah was invited to play she wasn't going to come over to their house.

The spinelessness that followed is typical. Nobody is invited. Non Anybodies will now show up.

It is said behind the scenes that Hillary looked down on Sarah Palin and didn't want to share the stage with a person she considers her inferior.

That's third grade girl behavior. And it's embarrassing. Obama's surrogates fingerprints are all over this thing. The democrat party keeps showing itself to be full of really nasty people.

Hillary I thought better of you. You disappoint me. If you think Sarah is not your equal what are you going to do in 2012 when you have to run against a sitting VP or perhaps an incumbent president Palin. I don't think you did yourself any favors.

Da Chicago Boyz Explain the Bailout, It ain't pretty

I won't try to explain it all. I just read it. But if you want to know what our best and brightest from the City with Big Shoulders thinks, read this and follow all the links.

It ain't pretty.

Obama Votes Present on the Economic Mess

He doesn’t want to discuss his plans for economic recovery. So, he’s voting “present.” Again. Oh, and he “supports” what Bush and his guys are doing. But he does not mention Bush by name. Can’t give the president any credit. Asshat. What a statesman. What a diplomat. What a fraud.

Obama, Untruthful: Untruthful, here, and afraid of this woman and her truth.

Obama, Misleading: Even the Washington Post admits it, while noting that yes, McCain also tried to stave off this economic crisis and Congress blocked him, too:

One element of the Obama campaign’s brief against Mr. McCain is that he supported repeal of the law separating commercial banks from investment banks. “He’s spent decades in Washington supporting financial institutions instead of their customers,” Mr. Obama said yesterday. “Phil Gramm, one of the architects of the deregulation in Washington that led directly to this mess on Wall Street, is also the architect of John McCain’s economic plan.” Would it be churlish to point out that another author of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley law is former congressman Jim Leach, a founder of Republicans for Obama? Or that Obama advisers Lawrence H. Summers and Robert E. Rubin supported the repeal — which was signed by President Bill Clinton? - [Emphasis mine -admin]

It’s a reasonable question which candidate has been more attentive to the brewing problems on Wall Street and which has a better prescription for them. But Mr. Obama’s attack does not give a fair reading of the McCain record.

Obama, Empty suit. Untruthful, blithering empty suit with too many dubious connections. Ask him about the AIG bailout, he votes “present.” If Palin had answered as he did, she’d be excoriated as “stupid” and “not ready.” But he’s The One. Put him in the WH with a Dem controlled Congress and a few judges to name to the SCOTUS and you can just turn out the lights.

I want this bumper sticker

Andrew Greeley: Evangelical Mobs to Burn Books if McCain Wins

Get the scene. The McCain/Palin ticket wins in November and soon afterwards mobs of wild eyed bible-toting evangelicals will burn stacks of books in giant bonfires. Sound ridiculous? Well, that is exactly what Andrew Greeley is laughably claiming in his latest Chicago Sun-Times column ominously titled, "Next Chapter for radical right: Burn books." Years ago, Greeley sounded somewhat sane but lately he has gone off the deep end such as his claim in June that it is racist not to vote for Obama. Greeley's latest sanity-challenged screed presents a bleak future of crazed book-burning evangelicals taking over the country. Try not to laugh too hard as you read Greeley's rantings (emphasis mine):

Let's fill some trucks with books, drive them downtown and burn them in front of the Chicago Public Library. Let's drive other trucks to the regional libraries and burn them, too . . . I mean the books, not the libraries, though libraries are the source of the problem. If it weren't for the libraries, it would be hard for innocent young people to be corrupted by the filth pouring out of the country's printers.

Instead of burning books or libraries, perhaps we ought to start smashing printing presses. They have served as tools of sin and the devil since Herr Gutenberg invented them.

When the radical evangelicals take over the White House, lists of books that one shouldn't read or in fact are forbidden to read will spread around the country like wildfire, you should excuse the expression. Unless a much tighter control is imposed on distribution of books, the morals of the country will continue to deteriorate, which will in turn weaken us in the long war on terror.

One almost pictures John Connor somewhere in this bleak evangelical future of Greeley's fantasy sending a terminator back to our time to keep evangelicals from taking over Skynet and nuking all books on the planet. Father Greeley then invokes some biblical sounding language to attempt to make his silly case:

Oh ye of little faith! Why must ye think that the power of the biblical stories depends on their literal, word-for-word inerrancy? Why can't you see that those men and women who study it so closely actually enhance its wonder? Why instead must ye wander through the desert searching for the pillar of salt that was Lot's wife? Why can't ye understand that ye continue the battle between science and religion with thy concern about routing evolution from the classrooms? Don't ye realize that ye reinforce the paradigm, so loved by thy friends in the national media, of the battle between science and religion? When the results finally leak out about the European Organization for Nuclear Research experiments in Switzerland, just watch the stories confronting religious ideas about creation with "scientific" knowledge.

Yes, Greeley works himself into a lather over his highly fictional evangelical book burning future but he conveniently overlooks a very real case of censorship in his own Chicago, namely the attempts by the Barack Obama campaign to suppress books critical of him. One of the many comments following Greeley's bizarre column is an on the mark comment calling him on his hypocrisy from someone called ajea:

The most recent public outcries for censorship were from the Obama contingent over guests David Freddoso, author of The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media’s Favorite Candidate, on September 15th and Stanley Kurtz on 8/27 who Milt Rosenberg from WGN radio had on his show in an attempt to bring some balance to the MSM's blind worship of Obama. There is a link to his interview with Stanley Kurtz on Milt's file wgnradio.com.

As far as Rev Greeley goes, he is just a regular reminder that wearing a collar does not automatically confer wisdom.

Bank of America makes a Play to be Bailed

TOO BIG TO LET THEM FAIL.

That's the mantra. That's why we have all the bail outs. I have read all the what
if's if AIG had been allowed to fail. I don't buy it.

Bank of America is making a play to be bailed out by trying to become to big to let fail. It's like the idea that if you borrow enough money a bank has to lend you more. Borrow enough and you own the bank. That's Jessie James without a gun or a mask.

I'm not convinced except of one thing. Teddy
Roosevelt broke up monopolies. We have too many monopolies in the USA. And Monopolies in the making.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack could have been broken up into twenty smaller companies. And then let them sort it out. Ditto for
AIG. Bust them up into segments and let them. If B of A comes to the US for bailout; bust em up.

And, socially, I'm of the same opinion in Agriculture and cities that live on the coast. New Orleans and Huston. It's time to let private insurers decide if they want to take a chance on allowing insurance on rebuilding in NO or Huston.

Not helping people, rebuilding. I'm for helping people, just not sanctioning
incompetence.

In
business or in building.

I have had disasters in my life. I have gone broke. No one bailed me out. No one should be bailing out those on Wall Street or coastal cities that make no sense.

The Oil Price Jump is GOOD news

When the oil price dropped as fast as it did, as a trader I recognized that this couldn't hold. That it had to go back up. That we were going to see it fill in the gap it created. I suspect it will go all the way to 115 before it begins to drop again, and that will take a month or more if it's a real drop.

So, relax, this is Adam Smith doing what he does best.

Isn't economics a wonderful thing?

OH, and Ron, I know this is dollar related, it's the same thing. there is a huge sponge absorbing this artificial liquidity, after things settle down the fundamentals in the market will return and the drop to the 80 level will proceed in a more orderly fashion.

Off to Nebraska and Stuff

Yesterday about NOON Kevin came and picked up everything he owns in the world, loaded it in the back of a u-haul and a small SUV and moved kit and caboodle to Lincoln NE. He's a coffee expert in training.

It was hard as always to see him go. He's my boy, all 37 years. It wasn't hard to see all his STUFF go. He has a lot of stuff. All his stuff was in our house. A lot of his stuff at least.

Course at my age I couldn't get all I own in the back of an SUV and a U-HAUL.

It would still take two large moving vans. I have a lot of stuff. Too much. I thought about the freedom one gets from less stuff. I thought about the reality that someday if I live long enough my stuff will have to fit in the closet of a nursing home, and then
someday I'll leave it all behind.

Even the suit they dress me in to place me in the ground won't be with me when I'm gone. I'll even leave that behind.

I'll just be clothed in Glory. I'll look good.

All my stuff will stay behind for others to worry about. My kids won't want it, my siblings won't want it, so it will all be sold at auction, thrown in a dumpster or given away. Even my shoes. Maybe someone will want my guitars. And violin. And zither. And trumpet. and bass. and and and.

No one will want my computers. They were out of date the second I bought them.

Into this world I came with nothing and will leave the same way. Why do I even worry about stuff.

I worry less and less.

As the Smoke all Clears on Sarah Palin

I've been flooded for the past few days with queries about dubious Internet postings and mass e-mail messages making claims about McCain’s running mate, Gov. Palin. We find that many are completely false, or misleading.

Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn’t cut it at all. In fact, she increased funding and signed a bill that will triple per-pupil funding over three years for special needs students with high-cost requirements.

She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a “What if?” question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin’s first term.

She was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She’s been registered as a Republican since May 1982.

Palin never endorsed or supported Pat Buchanan for president. She once wore a Buchanan button as a “courtesy” when he visited Wasilla, but shortly afterward she was appointed to co-chair of the campaign of Steve Forbes in the state.

Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska’s schools. She has said that students should be allowed to “debate both sides” of the evolution question, but she also said creationism “doesn’t have to be part of the curriculum.”

It's just a good time to clear the air. I just did. Of course I know full well that some folks hate to admit they are wrong and just will continue to slime her. Just doing my part at Palin for President Headquarters.

NOT ME

Remember the cartoons of the little kids in Family Circus? The little gremlin that when the Kids would be accused of doing something bad, would say, NOT ME! The Ghost would appear and his name - NOT ME. So the Ghost did it.

What is so sad and ridiculous is that the Democrats are fully to blame for the whole mess on Wall Street and Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is demonstrating the bankruptcy, not of wall street but of the whole Democrat controlled congress. I hope people remember these ghosts when Election day comes around. Let's get rid of these unaccountable toads. Here's the story:

Pelosi: Dems bear no responsibility for economic crisis

By Klaus Marre
Posted: 09/16/08 04:14 PM [ET]

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, when asked Tuesday whether Democrats bear some of the responsibility regarding the current crisis on Wall Street, had a one-word answer: “No.”

Pelosi (D-Calif.) ripped President Bush’s “mismanagement” of the economy and a lack of regulation that led to the current situation.

“I think the American people have had it with this situation where the middle-income people in our country are not protected from the ramifications of the risk-taking and the greed of these financial institutions,” Pelosi told MSNBC.

When asked whether the Democrats “deserve some responsibility” regarding the economic crisis, Pelosi responded: “No.”

“John McCain said that this is a result of overregulation by the Democrats in Congress,” she added. “Either he doesn’t know what he's talking about or he’s misrepresenting the facts as he knows them. But it’s simply not true.”

Sarah Palin Answere absolutly all Charges and Accusations Against her in FULL

Now, you are looking for a link or an argument. I will provide neither. She has done nothing wrong. She is innocent of all the slimeball stuff thrown her way.

Is she perfect? Nope. Neither are you.

Does she have family skeletons. Yep. So do you.

Does she know how to answer every gotacha question some weasel of the press comes up with? Probably not and neither does anyone one else. If someone asks a gotacha, it's intended to getcha.

But, if you really were open to correction, there is not ONE SINGLE ACCUSATION leveled against her (other than owning a tanning bed) that carries any credibility whatsoever.

But I know full well I have wasted good electrons telling you something you wouldn't believe no matter what.

The good news is, if the election were held today, she is VP and eventually Pres. I believe we can hold this thing. Even some of Congress is coming back into play. Who knew she had Skirt Tails.

That's all that matters. Irrelevance is it's own reward. The left has now fallen over the edge of the earth. Buh Bye.

Vote the way you want. It doesn't matter.

Like me in Illinois. No matter how I vote I won't be able to Matter to Sarah and McCain. Electoral College and all. But I have a few hundred readers from around the country who check in whose vote just MIGHT count. If I can turn a few, we can get it done.

Let's win this thing.

The ONE thing I agree with Barak Obama about

It's no secret that I am not a fan of Obama. I will do all I can to see to it he is unsuccessful in his bid to be President.

HOWEVER

Sometimes a blind sow finds an acorn.

This is that.
Obama has one program I endorse. His plan for Health Care Reform. There is no question that the health care system we have in the USA is broken. The McCain Plan is flawed. It is centered on Tax benefits. That doesn't work in a non competitive environment that is government controlled.

Here are principles that to me make economic sense:

The big threat to growth in the next decade is not oil or food prices, but the rising cost of health care. The doubling of health insurance premiums since 2000 makes employers choose between cutting benefits and hiring fewer workers.

Rising health costs push total employment costs up and wages and benefits down. The result is lost profits and lost wages, in addition to pointless risk, insecurity and a flood of personal bankruptcies.

- Learning. One-third of medical costs go for services at best ineffective and at worst harmful.

- Rewarding. Doctors and hospitals today are paid for performing procedures, not for helping patients. Insurers make money by dumping sick patients, not by keeping people healthy.

- Pooling. The
Obama plan would give individuals and small firms the option of joining large insurance pools. With large patient pools, a few people incurring high medical costs will not topple the entire system, so insurers would no longer need to waste time, money and resources weeding out the healthy from the sick, and businesses and individuals would no longer have to subject themselves to that costly and stressful process.

Preventing. In today's health-care market, less than one dollar in 25 goes for prevention, even though preventive services -- regular screenings and healthy lifestyle information -- are among the most cost-effective medical services around. Guaranteeing access to preventive services will improve health and in many cases save money.

- Covering. Controlling long-run health-care costs requires removing the hidden expenses of the uninsured. The reforms described above will lower premiums by $2,500 for the typical family, allowing millions previously priced out of the market to afford insurance.

You will want to read the whole article. While it is partisan opinion, this is an area where McCain needs to get religion.

Nobody ever kicks a dead dog

Sunday the New York Times published 4 hit pieces on Sarah Palin.

Keep it coming bozos.

The more you yell, the more we are confident that she is exactly what this country needs.

And, in this case keeping her on the front page just boosts her support. Beat up on her, kick her, do whatever you think you need to.

It makes the world wonder why you hate her so much or is it true that nobody ever kicks a dead dog. Biden who??

Not invented here - Golden Boy - Does this remind you of anyone we know running for POTUS

Tell me if this reminds you of ANYONE running for President of the USA. Come to think of it, does this remind you of companies you have worked in, bosses, or even churches you have been part of. This is classic not invented here philosophy. Seen it all, done it all beforism. Always a death knell. Particularly in a national leader.

Unhealthy narcissists typically lack a feeling of self-worth; the result is an inner shakiness that in a leader, for example, means that even as he unfurls inspiring visions, he harbors a vulnerability that closes his ears to criticism. Such leaders avoid even constructive feedback, which they perceive as an attack. Their hypersensitivity to criticism in any form means that narcissistic leaders don’t seek out information widely; rather, they selectively seize on data that supports their views, ignoring disconfirming facts. They don’t listen but prefer to preach and indoctrinate.

An entire organization can be narcissistic. When a critical mass of employees share a narcissistic outlook, the outfit itself takes on those traits, which become standard operating procedures.

Organizational narcissism has clear perils. Pumping up grandiosity, whether it is the boss’s or some false collective self-image held throughout the company, becomes the operating norm. Healthy dissent dies out. And any organization that is cheated of a full grasp of truth loses the ability to respond nimbly to harsh realities.

This Puma Will ROAR

As the more and more real prospect of a Vice President Palin and Ultimately the First Female President for the next 12 years looms on the horizon, the left is going more and more nuts. It's fun to watch them twist in the wind as the candidate of Change changes from a promise to a putz.

It's like Liberals and the mainstream media are a bunch of dogs chasing a Puma. Trying to get her to hide out in a tree. Keeping her down. NOPE. Not happening. Nipping at her high heels is failing.

This from the American Thinkers Larrey Anderson:

Treeing Sarah Palin

Larrey Anderson
They are like a pack of slathering hounds ... aren't they? ... the mainstream media in its pursuit to tree Sarah Palin on some obscure issue. The MSM thinks it is hot on the heels of an Alaskan snow bunny; but it may be cornering a cougar.

First, it was the Bush Doctrine. Charles Gibson howled at the moon about a doctrine so vague that even John Kerry agrees (except when he disagrees) with it. There was no right answer to Gibson's multi-angled question to Palin about the so-called "Bush Doctrine" and Gibson knew it.

Then the MSM bayed at Palin for throwing good people out of work and banning books. (Yap. Yap.) Palin's record as mayor, according to the MSM, consisted of two things: 1. Firing a bunch of really competent people. (If Sarah were a Democrat it would have been seen as "fighting corruption" or "cleaning house.") 2. Banning Huckleberry Finn. No, she didn't do either ... but hounds run on instinct not intellect.

Now the MSM is chasing down Sarah's "fundamentalism." This will be the big one. This one makes MSM nostrils flare. They catch the scent of a Christian and snarl to themselves, "Got her treed." The woman not only believes in God, she actually thinks human beings should be free to debate and discuss the differences between creationism, intelligent design, and Darwinism. Maybe even talk about it in public schools!

Yip. Yip. Nip at the ankles. Blood (pant, pant, pant) -- is that the smell of blood?

What the MSM does not understand is that there are tens of millions of American voters who believe what Sarah believes. On November 4, this puma will roar.

Giving it lower than should be billing

I know a man, he's a prophet. His wife died this morning. James Goll. Won't mean much to most of you but she has been sick for a while. Bout my age.

The announcement of her death used the terminology "Went home to be with the Lord".

I guess that's appropriate. She Passed on. Seems pretty weak. Or just that she passed. Seems like a pass fail.

Sometimes it's just went to be with the Lord. Or just went home. Or Went on to Glory.

Of all of them I like that one best.

Last night I sat with a young man who's a guitar player at church. We have come to know one another some. His dad died of cancer this summer. It threw him pretty badly. Dad was 72. Cancer. Died in pain.

I listened to him tell of the whole experience. He was with his dad when he died. I sat quietly to hear in my spirit what I might say to him. Then the spirit of God welled up in me.

I said, "the second your dad closed his eyes and stepped from time into eternity he was in the presence of Jesus, in all his glory, seeing for the first time color and hearing sound he had never before. He was experiencing joy and no pain, no regret. He found himself in a place from which even if he could he would not want to come back from. He's never been so complete as he is right now. And he's worshipping the King with everything that's in him."

Curt listened. Was quiet for a moment. Then he said, "after dad died I had a dream. I saw him in heaven, Dad loved to worship Jesus in Church. I saw him on the top of this broad hill. Jesus was there in all his glory. Dad was on one knee, his hands raised but not full up, more like a Charles Atlas pose, Fists Clenched in Joy and passion and at the top of his voice he was saying JESUS, JESUS."

A tear welled up in Curt's eyes. We talked a bit more and said good night.

I came away thinking, we don't have words to describe what really happens at death for a believer. It's a glorious emergence into a reality that is beyond understanding on this side of the veil.

Joy unspeakable and full of Glory, full of Glory, full of Glory.

That's what Curt's dad is experiencing right now. That glassy sea is in my spirit. I see it, I long for it, I want it. That's why I'm so passionate about good worship. The glassy sea. Evenso Come Lord Jesus or I'm coming to YOU.

Barak Obama's Growing Nose (he lies)

Barack Obama claims he has done a lot of things. He is a resume pader.

He worked at a company called Business International. One of the men who worked next to him wrote a comment in a blog where he said of his experiences with Barry:

Cathy Lazere calls Barack self-assured? That’s putting a nice spin on it. I found him arrogant and condescending.

The thing is, I worked next to Barack nearly every day he was at Business International–on many days angling for possession of the best Wang word processing terminal.

I had MANY discussions with Barack.

I can tell you this: even though I was an assistant editor (big doings at this “consulting firm”) and he was, well, he was doing something there, he certainly treated me like something less than an equal.

Funny thing… A journalism/political science major… Writing about finance… Pretending in his book to be an expert on interest rate swaps.

I remember trying to explain the nuance of these instruments to him in the cramped three Wang terminal space we called the bull pen. In contrast to his his liberal arts background, I had a degree in finance and Wall Street experience, so I knew what I was talking about.

But rather than learn from a City College kid, the Ivy Leaguer just sort of rolled his eyes. Condescendingly. I’ll never forget it. God forbid he leave the impression that a mere editor like myself knew more about something than did Barack.

He was like that…

But know what? I can forgive him for being immature–which is probably all that was at the time. Don’t we all believe we know everything at just around that age?

That said…he was a lot older when he wrote his book. Mature enough by this time to realize that his account of his time at Business International could be described as embellishment.

(Yawn)

Best!

Liars shouldn't be elected President, Let's hope this one isn't.

What the Fargo Forum looks like to the rest of the world

No one takes these people in the libeal media seriously any more. They see defeat on the horizon and it torments them. I watched Ed Schultz on Larry King. I have never seen such a wild eyed crazy in my life.

Jane Ahlin who writes a column for the Fago Forum wrote a smear piece on Sarah Palin. It was loaded with lies half truths and just plain made up stuff.

These people, all Fargo Folks are so sold out to the liberal cause the potential that conservatives are about to prevail is driving them nuts.

Look out, the tin hats are out. The liberals are on the loose and they will become nuttier and nuttier.

Here is a review of the Jane Ahlin article from Say Anything:

Here are Ahlin’s claims (you can view the entire column here):

Building pipeline in Alaska is “god’s will”

Ahlin is trying to paint Palin as some sort of religious wacko whit this. The truth is that while giving a speech in front of a church congregation Palin mentioned that she was trying to get the pipeline built, asked the congregants to pray for it, and then suggested that “god’s will” should be done. Here’s a video of her comments. I think this is pretty normal for the sorts of thing that goes on in churches. It’s certainly not a very controversial comment.

The next claim from Ahlin:

she supports teaching creationism in public schools

That’s not true at all. Palin supports and believes in creationism but doesn’t want to force her views on schools at all. In fact, as Governor of Alaska, she promised exactly that. From an Anchorage Daily News article from October of 2006:

In an interview Thursday, Palin said she meant only to say that discussion of alternative views should be allowed to arise in Alaska classrooms:
“I don’t think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn’t have to be part of the curriculum.”

She added that, if elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add such creation-based alternatives to the state’s required curriculum.

Members of the state school board, which sets minimum requirements, are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Legislature.
“I won’t have religion as a litmus test, or anybody’s personal opinion on evolution or creationism,” Palin said.

For Ahlin to claim that Palin wants to teach creationism in school is an out-and-out lie. She doesn’t. She thinks it should be discussed and debated if brought up in class (like, say, in a debate class) but she doesn’t want it to be part of the curriculum.

The next claim from Ahlin:

she tried to fire a librarian who refused to ban books

No, she didn’t. She once asked city of Wasilla librarian what the process was for banning books, and that was the end of the matter. The “list” of books she allegedly wanted banned contained books that weren’t even in publication at the time. And according to documents obtained from the City of Wasilla not one single book in the library has been banned from 1986 to the present.

As for Palin trying to fire a librarian who refused to ban a book, the only thing Palin did in that regard was request updated resumes from several city officials, including the city librarian, upon starting her first term as Mayor. Which, frankly, is a pretty routine thing for a new executive administrator to do.

The final claim from Ahlin:

used her line-item veto to cut funds for a shelter specifically aimed at helping teenage mothers get on their feet;

No, she didn’t. She tripled funding for the shelter (called Covenant House) from $1.3 million to $3.9 million. The originally proposed increase was to over $5 million, but Palin only cut the amount of the increase. She still trippled the funding.

Only a liberal could call a reduction in the increase of funding for a program a “cut.”

Now, these are several distortions and deceptions from Jane Ahlin. Ahlin claims that Palin is a book banner, and that’s not true. She claims Palin wants to impose her religious views on the public schools, and that’s not true. She tries to paint Palin as a religious wacko when really Palin is just a run-of-the-mill Christian.

I think the Fargo Forum needs to correct the record, but it’s been eight days since Ahlin colmn’s ran and we’ve yet to hear anything from the Forum’s editors despite many of these claims having been debunked in high-profile ways by the national media.

When will the Fargo Forum do the right thing? Here’s the contact information for the Forum Staff. Give ‘em a call, or write an email, and ask.

As for Jane Ahlin, her email address (as published at the bottom of her columns) is janeahlin@yahoo.com.

I like Jane, we have a great deal of shared history, but when she goes as far out on a limb as she did to support Obama and whoever it is that is his running mate this week, she must be called on it. I just did. If you are a blogger and you believe in truth, you too need to call her on this untruth.

CHOOSING LIFE INSTEAD OF DEATH

I have a friend who is a Pastor in Nigeria. He writes an occasional email submission. This last was excellent and worth reading:

BY OLUFUNSO J. OMIDIRAN
www.livingsword.org

8 ¶ And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death. (Jeremiah 21:8).
15 ¶ See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil... 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:15,19).

The word of God is a document of absolute value, which however gives every individual the privilege of making choice of decisions. God’s word is an absolute in the sense that it cannot be compromised or undermined by anybody. It can neither be questioned nor disputed. The best we should all do is to align ourselves to the truth of God’s word. When we do this, we are walking in the will of God. From God’s word, we see that God is giving us all opportunity to choose either life or death, good or evil. Let us carefully look into God’s word and make the right choice, for choosing belongs to us: it is our responsibility under God.

LIFE WITH ITS MYRIADS OF CHOICES
Life in this world offers us conflicting and often irreconcilable and seemingly reasonable choices of decisions which leave us at some cross-roads and we still have to make the right and the best decisions. Family units, career issues, finances, ministry matters and personal health and welfare are inevitable and should be addressed rightly. We as God’s children and pilgrims on earth should always seek for God’s wisdom through His unfailing word and Spirit so that we may not miss God’s perfect plan for our lives. We normally have more problems when we place worldly values and fads above the absolute standards of God’s word. We inadvertently enter into conflict with the truth and we become helpless because we cannot ‘bring’ God into agreement with our selfish intents.

Besides, we can be tempted to abandon our priceless possessions and right in the Lord simply because of fear and unbelief. This is a serious problem in the life of so many believers- especially those who always want to debate and finds excuses for the reality of God’s supernatural for today. They deny the possibility of God making way where there is no way, healing incurable diseases, making His people whole and meeting our needs in times of trouble. Do you ever think it a little thing for God to act as God- just as He really is? Some people are deluded to feel that the God of the Bible- the Old Testament and the early Church is no more the same God today. What a baseless error! They boldly and shamelessly deny the manifestations of the Holy Spirit and His power in our time. Theological conflicts and battles of rhetoric cannot reduce God and His eternal power.

CHOOSE LIFE, CHOOSE JESUS
The best we do is to choose life instead of death. Jesus Christ our Lord promises us life, so we choose life by simply choosing Him and what He offers. This is the safest, the best and the wisest way:

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy: I have come that they may have Life, and may have it in abundance
(John 10:10 Weymouth’s New Testament)

In other words, our Lord has come to present to us the best we truly need: life. Jesus came that we may have abundant life. This abundant life is supernatural in nature and cannot be duplicated or replicated by human whims and caprices. The supernatural power and life of God that fended for the children of Israel by bringing them out of Egypt and getting to the Promised Land is still here with us today. Jesus is not any less the mighty Saviour than He was in the days of His flesh (Hebrews 13:8). Why should we then choose death and defeat when we have a glorious access to victory? Why should we fail to walk in faith by agreeing with God’s word, receiving what has been freely given to us? Listen to this testimony about Christ Jesus our Messiah:

4 In Him was Life, and that Life was the Light of men. 5 ¶ The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overpowered it. 10 He was in the world, and the world came into existence through Him, and the world did not recognize Him. 11 He came to the things that were His own, and His own people gave Him no welcome
(John 1:4-5, 10-11 Weymouth’s New Testament).

When we truly choose Jesus, we also choose the life He gives. We should not exclude ourselves from the fullness of God’s immeasurable blessings in Him. Let us position ourselves for life. God has already called us to this glorious and abundant life through Christ.

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).

God’s awesome supernatural power is still available today to open new doors for us, to break all yokes and shackles of the devil and cause more men in every nation to be obedient to the gospel of Christ as we beam His light onto every nation. Hallelujah! Christ is still willing to heal, set free from sin and shame and to save the lost. ‘We ain’t seen nothing’ yet as regards the visitation of the supernatural in our time! We only need to cooperate with God by agreeing with His word. We must choose life instead of death for Christ has come to give us abundance of life.

REJECT THAT DEFEAT!
Reject defeat and all whispers of fears from the devil. You can’t lose the battle inasmuch as you have not abandoned God’s truth and inheritance. You have chosen life instead of death; you are on course and on your way to divine rest. Do not accept failure for failure isn’t an option for you at this time! Why should you reject what Christ has already paid for? Your hour of change has come and your season of constant rejoicing is here. Why should we not begin to celebrate your victory now? Let praises and thanksgiving begin to ascend on high. Amen and Shalom.

Thanks Brother O, I needed to hear that word.

A Blog Change - NEW BLOG

I have decided to take the cue from a man I respect and spin off my theological and prophetic utterances to a different blog. Doesn't mean I will NEVER EVER say anything here of a Christian nature. If I do it will be very mellow. It does mean that I will be voicing all things theological in another place.

This blog will be dedicated to ruminations about politics, life, observations and economics. And in quest to help single women meet men, I will continue to post my dating advice column here. HEH! Secret message for a special person.

The other one will be frankly more radical than I have been in the past. I have held back some. Over on the other side will be visions, dreams and revelation. Your hat will need hanging on to. I will make note of the posts somehow so that people who desire to read them will be able to.

I do this so those of a more secular nature won't be harassed. And I do it so that when I enthuse about Sarah Palin it won't be understood to be a ministry endorsement. It's just me.

This is an experiment. I don't know if it will work. We'll see.

I just want to warn the heresy hunters who read this blog; The split means that on the other side I will be over the top sometimes.

DANGER DO NOT READ THE NEW BLOG UNLESS YOU ARE VERY VERY VERY SURE YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR COMFORTABLE DENOMINATIONAL THEOLOGY CAGE RATTLED. IT WILL BE.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DO NOT GO THERE. PLEASE, IF YOU DO, DON'T COMPLAIN.

Just in case you thought Daily Kos was just another political website

This slime is published by these vermin.

I'm just being nice and PC here.

Going with the Flow can get you Killed

OK, I'll admit it. I have a different drummer I hear. I march to his beat. That means I don't too much tend to go along to get along. I also don't seem to care much who gets in the way. I have a guide and his name is Jesus.

That makes me a better prophet than a pastor. I'm hard on the sheep but they know where the fence line is and they know what will happen if they get to far out where the wolves can get them. I will yell like crazy till they listen.

We need more like me, not fewer. Not easy being a prophet. Just essential.

Yesterday our local fish laden retention pond overflowed big time because we have had over 10 inches of rain. Most in history for Chicagoland in a short period of time.

Lots of little bluegills and such were washed over the road and into the field next door because of the flow of water from the pond. AND, there were some big fish. Big ones that were sucked in.

They will now die as the water dries up tomorrow. They went with the flow and it killed them.

I'll bet they wished about now some mean old prophet fish would have said to them, "Don't go there, if you go there you will die".

They didn't have a prophet and they died.

There's a lesson in this for someone.

Oil Bounce and Bottom

Right now on the overnight futures exchanges Oil is trading at about 98 bucks. Gasoline is dropping like a rock. I know all the news casters are hollering about high oil.

This too shall pass.

I am a bit worried as a trader.

I think we could see a big bounce if it drops too fast too soon. Markets require time and volume to stabilize and we have seen neither.

I don't like how this smells. We might go to 90 bucks but since there has been no firming at all it could run up to 120 or 130 in a few months. I would rather it trade for a while at a hundred bucks before it drops too fast. I know there are no fundamentals holding it up, but we need an orderly market.

I'm going to arrest this one for disorderly conduct.
