Gravitas over the last 10 years

Remember, when you hear about how important it is that the next Republican nominee for President have “gravitas,” the following have been designed by people with gravitas:

* The TSA’s scanning and groping system.
* Obamacare.
* Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the mortgage bubble.
* Our tax code.
* Our federal and state budget deficits.
* Our immigration system.
* (feel free to add more in the comments)

We need gravitas, because gravitas has worked so well so far.

* Gay marriage (not necessarily happy marriage)
* Gays in military
* Females in combat roles. A one-way ticket out is to party with the boyz and get pregnant. Helps heighten morale on "front".
* Can't drill oil offshore (onshore prohibitions pending; lookout ND)
* Backroom politics (not on C-Span as promised)
* Excessively lengthy legislation that hands over power to executive branch well after the fact of voting to further define and create law (i.e. healthcare; law can become whatever president wants; law is created by those not duly representing the People in a legislative format, actually being unconstitutional; same damn thing happened in clean air and water acts, except healthcare is much, much worse.)
