People are Busy Dying

I read this post on a Blog.

It struck me, I hope you read it.  In the Christmas Carol there is a line after Scrooge is Dead, "He died a rich man and never enjoyed his money.  He never so much as traveled, stayed warm or ate well".

This is tragic but it's still going on.  People have a money script.  They believe things about money that puts them in bondage.  Here's a good Article on the Money Scripts that keep us poor in life.

Scrooge had a money script:

• You can't trust anyone with your money.
• People only want you for your money.
• You must work hard for money.
• You can never have enough money.
• Don't spend money on yourself or others.
• Money will give you meaning in life.
• The more money you have, the happier you will be.
• You can never be happy if you are poor.
• Giving to the poor encourages laziness.
• If you had more money, things would be better.

The person who has money but won't use it to enjoy himself is just as poor as the person who doesn't have money and still is unable to enjoy the benifits of it.

You are a long time dead.  You could be dead in a year.  Find a way to enjoy life before the day this becomes your view of the world.  Your last look up before the dirt starts to fall.  There is much to see in the world.  GO.  NOW!!

Read and Heed

One of my mentors once said this to me - "If you went shopping with your children and told them to behave and do not touch the food in the produce aisle, their thoughts are on not touching the food, and human nature leads immature and rebellious children to do the very thing they are told not to do."
In the same way, signs that say keep off the grass, invite some to walk on the grass, or signs that say Do Not Enter - it invites immature and rebellious people to enter.
Even God Himself gave us the Ten Commandments knowing they would be broken by mankind - so that we would realize we could never keep them and see our need for a Savior.
Having a Gun Free Zone is like that. It will not bring lawfulness but rather, invites more unlawfulness. Just because Umpqua CC was not a gun free zone does not mean it needs to be one.

Just Shut Up

The only people that don't realize that he's the laughing stock of the world are Liberals and homosexuals.

*Sociology corner*: The africanamerican is profoundly, no, pathologically effected by a need for personal, and group respect AND acceptance (note: the reason for so much violent person to person crime, and bad police encounters). So be nice for the next week (extent of any liberal attention span) since what Obama has turned out to mean for them is surely, totally devastating to the africanamerican psyche. Just ignore, the usual denial, racial bunkerism, and "Bush was worst" rhetoric in response to the truth. Its all just really about pain.

Mediocrity= potential without consistency!

The day that turns YOUR life around is the day you realize you have a CHOICE in YOUR quality of life!

One of the most excellent pursuits a believer can undertake is developing a healthy and stable SOUL!

Talent without discipline leads to frustration!!

Shakespeare was Right

Getting older is heck.  I have been struggling with a tooth deal for a week now.  It's not healed up.. but I'm hoping.

There is a widely quoted passage from a monologue in William Shakespeare's As You Like It, spoken by the melancholy Jaques in Act II Scene VII It is often quoted as the seven ages of Mankind.  The last line is the most painful.

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.

At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.

Then, the whining school-boy with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school.

And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow.

Then, a soldier,
Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden, and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth.

And then, the justice,
In fair round belly, with a good capon lined,
With eyes severe, and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws, and modern instances,
And so he plays his part.

The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side,
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound.

Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

I hope I can stay in Round Belly phase for a while

Migration changing economy of U.S. South

STEPHEN MOORE: Migration changing economy of U.S. South - Washington Times

Migration is changing the economic center of gravity to the South

The so-called “progressives” love to talk about how their policies
will create a worker’s paradise, but then why is it that day after day,
month after month, year after year, people are fleeing liberal blue
states for conservative red states?

The new Census data on where
we live and where we moved to in 2014 shows that the top seven states
with the biggest percentage increase in in-migration from other states
are in order: North Dakota, Nevada, South Carolina, Colorado, Florida,
Arizona, and Texas. All of these states are red, except Colorado, which
is purple.

Meanwhile the leading
exodus states of the continental states in percentage terms were:
Alaska, New York, Illinois, Connecticut, New Mexico, New Jersey, and
Kansas. All of these states are blue, except Alaska and Kansas.

The
latest Rich States, Poor States document (which I co-author) published
by ALEC, the state legislative organization, finds that nearly 1,000
people each day on net are leaving blue states and entering red states.
This migration is changing the economic center of gravity in America —
moving it relentlessly to the South and West.

I really miss seeing these
