I think Mr Tyson is a good entertainer, a smart man and wrong on lots of things. He is blinded by wanting the world to fit his paradigm..and if it does not... well he just makes it up. Yet he is fun to watch.. but he needs to tune up his thesis a bit.

Something is really wrong. Just two years ago the autism rate was 1-88 now it is 1-68. I know all the controversy about vaccines. OK. I'm not sure. BUT we have an epidemic. GMOs? Herbicides? Radiation? TOO CLEAN? What can be done? Lives are being destroyed. Amish children DON'T get Autism. The two incidences of autism occurred only in Amish children that were vaccinated. Our horrid public education system and our collapsing culture can no longer produce the kinds of skilled workers needed to compete in the world economy. China and India do. Every one of those people we bring on an H1b visa to work means five Americans will find work supporting their efforts. BUT while illegal immigrants come in, we keep out the well educated and capable with unrealistic quotas. More ignorance from our government. Yes we can change the system that has failed but the cultural shift needed to do this will be so dramatic that it cannot work short of a crisis... money isn't the solution.

When my eyes were better I learned to read very fast. I could roll thru a big book in a few hours with comprehension. When they went to pot a few years ago my reading (other than on the computer where I can make the print very large) pretty much stopped. I miss it. BUT if your eyes are still young, and your brain still works, learning this skill is worth the effort. It's not as hard as you think. If you could sit down and read 400 pages in 2 hours, with understanding... what would that mean?
