The Fractured Conservative Christian Front

Many of my conservative friends are convinced that Christian Conservatives are universally behind Mike Huckabee for President. I wish it were true. In fact it's a pretty fractured front.

Why do I believe Huckabee is the right candidate for this time? He gets up in the morning and seeks God before anything. He listens to the Voice of God in his spirit before soulish reason. He relies on the wisdom of God revealed in Scripture in making decisions. He lives life like I do. That counts for me. I can get behind a man like that.

Many young people are becoming engaged and committed to his candidacy. I'm not young, but I'm engaged. I know that he fears God and wants to do what is right. That counts a lot for me. There is a grass roots movement afoot. Hucks Army. I'm joining up. They have coordinators in nearly every state. Even in North Dakota. This move's afoot.

Some of my best friends in the faith are passionate about other candidates. I don't argue with them, because I believe God puts one up and another down just as he said in his word. I think the hand of God just might just be on this. I'll allow HIM to do what he will do while I do what I can do.

Even as many of the old guard Christian Conservative Movement cracks up over this and the Conservative Movement wanders in the wilderness having lost it's way thru allegiance to the God of Fiscal Policy over true conservatism, Mike is a breath of Fresh Air. They call him a Rino. Republican in name only. I believe he represents the best of Compassionate Conservatism. I would rather have someone who's conservative bonafidies are questioned than a CINO. Christian in Name Only. Ir you are an unbeliever or very nominal, fine, I'll judge things based on that. But if you are standing in comparison to someone who lives life like I do then Mike wins. We voted too often for "Conservative Christians" to find them neither conservative NOR Christian. Don't get me wrong, I'm voting R no matter what. I would just like it to be an R who lives like I do.

From this article are examples of the Religious Right soft support:
After Iowa, many evangelical political leaders hailed Mr. Huckabee’s victory as a resurgence. “Not bad for a supposed bunch of demoralized, depressed, disillusioned and disengaged Reaganites,” James C. Dobson of Focus on the Family said in a statement.

But Dr. Dobson and most of his allies stopped short of commending Mr. Huckabee in particular, and Tony Perkins, president of the Dobson-affiliated Family Research Council, almost seemed to explain away the victory.

Pat Robertson is for Mr. Giuliani

Gary Bauer is for Fred D. Thompson

Paul Weyrich, a founder of the Christian Coalition movement is for Mr. Romney

My Friend John is a Christian Leader who shared his enthusiastic Support for John McCain with me. My friends Kieth and Ron are avid Ron Paul Fans. So, this is not monolithic at any level.

This tepid support from Christian Conservatives won't doom Mr. Huckabee, it will open the door for those people of passion to initiate change. I have seen this before. Nothing is as powerful as an idea who's time has come.

The word of the Lord for 2008 was pass the torch. I believe that as the old Christian Right Coalition disintegrates the new expression for truth justice and the American way will emerge. It will emerge at the hands of young men and women who are on fire for God. Be part of it. This is a battle for the soul of America.

Mike represents to me the kind of man that lives Micah 6:6-8:

With what shall I come before the LORD
and bow down before the exalted God?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?

7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams,
with ten thousand rivers of oil?
Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8 He has shown all you people what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Wouldn't THAT be a breath of fresh air? I think George W Bush is that kind of Man, but he isn't running. I like MIKE!

I have discoverd a secret

I don't go thru major theological ahas very often. I have walked so long I think I have seen or heard it all before. Then I get a dope slap up along the side of the head. It seems like in my life certain things are hidden until the Kairos moment I am to "discover" it.

Understand, I don't have it all together. I might not be as smart as I think I am. I do know I hear from God. I do know he reveals things to me as a gift to the Body of Christ. I also know that these revelations are nearly always for encouragement or focus. I know I am responsible as a Holy Ghost UPS man to make delivery. Opening the package is someone else's responsibility. There are a lot of delivered but unopened UPS packages from God laying at the doorsteps of places God asked me to deliver them to.

Kind of like what the word of the Lord for 2008 that I delivered. Nothing new, just encouragement not to lose heart or become frustrated and some instruction to do what we should have been doing all along. If you haven't read it you should. I just did again and appreciate the wisdom of God.

I am going thru a theological discovery that is changing the way I receive and frame what the Spirit of God is saying right now. I won't say much about it. I have a blog friend in New Zealand, Ron, Blessed Economist linked on the left, who has already made this transition. I'm waiting until the word matures in me before I share much about it. It's just a little radical even for me. Once again, the Box I had God conviently theologically contained in has had the ends kicked out.

Then this morning I received some words from Kim Clement, a Prophet I respect and listen to carefully. These words came and all at once with this fresh set of theological truths the whole thing makes more sense than it did before.

It's funny how truth sets one free. Jesus said that. I'm freer than I was before. Here are some key things from Kim Clement's most recent release:

God says, "So many of My servants would take the words of My enemy and speak them out as if they were truth. What is truth? My Word is truth. No matter what you see, no matter what evidence you say there is--there is no evidence against truth. Truth is My evidence. Therefore, explain to Me how it is that I have kept the seasons going for millions of years? How is it that I have watched over the mass, I have watched over order and chaos, and I have not yet stopped intervening in man? How is it? Explain to Me what I am able to do, what I have done on the earth, and what I'm about to do. I have created one ball--this earth, and I will bring healing from this earth, I will bring great, great, great things from this earth."

"I have not finished with this earth. I am not finished. You think the earth must be burnt up. I will burn fuel from the earth. I will do great things from your soil, watch Me. You have said, 'God, do something unusual,' now let Me do it. Do not confine Me to what is unusual; don't tell Me what is unusual. Let Me do things that you have never thought about; let me create things you have never thought about. I am in a creative mood; if I am in a creative mood, I will design things especially for this generation."

"The warriors have gathered around the prophetic voice again. Even in the days of Elisha, didn't the governing powers come and stand around the prophet and say, 'We will take your life, we will shut you up.' Has it not been for millenniums that they have tried to shut up the sound of the prophetic voice? Has it not been for thousands of years that any time a prophet would rise up, they would chain him or they would say, 'This is the end, you are no longer to speak?'"

God says, "Once they do that, there is a divine expression that comes out and creates power for My people. Rejoice, for there is going to be a greater power that I will design for you and for this generation. My prophets will not be quiet," says the Lord. "They will not be chained, they will not be bound. They will not be weary or tired, for they carry the next generation's burden, the next generation's power. They carry the sound of your children. THEY CARRY THE VOICE OF YOUR CHILDREN! The prophets carry the future so that they will be able to give it to you."
...........................
Now standing in the midst of them is a prophetic voice. A prophetic voice. Prophets, do not be afraid of your bats and owls; do not be afraid of those who fly by night hoping to catch something. Hell is afraid of the prophet. Hell is afraid of the voice of the prophets.

"Therefore, prophets take your place. Prophets take your place in the dungeons of hell, for that is where you will prophesy," says the Lord. "In the dens of iniquity where the enemy says, 'They will not come. They are afraid to face and challenge our forces. Christ Himself came and took us to a place where we have no power left, yet, the Church believes we have the power to overcome them.' Prophets take your place in the habitation of hell, in the lonely place where no one else wants to go." God says, "If you take your place there, they will be terrified and they will flee at the sound of the voice of the prophets."

There is guidance and encouragement from a Sr Prophet of God to the rest of us, don't give up and don't be silent. I won't. I can't. It's like a fire shut up in my bones.

I'm Easily Entertained

There are video cameras all over the world. Thousands if then are linked to the web. Many are from TV stations for news shots, some are from security cams, some are just cams for no good reason I can think of. There are a few in Fargo North Dakota. So, if you want to see in real time what the weather looks like on First Ave in Fargo you can.

Once my son Kevin went to Harvard Square in Cambridge Mass and stood in front of the camera posted and waved at me. I saw him. Geeks we are.

There is a neat gadget you can put on your IGoogle custom home page. It's a slide show of snapshots from various video cams from all over the world. I find it fascinating.

Since I have traveled the world many times I look at these pictures and try to figure out if I have been "There" or not. I'm easily entertained.

Reaching Old Rockers with Righteous Rock

I would be among the oldest of Old Rockers.  I grew up on Rock and Roll.  Still love it.  My worship love language is "still Rock and Roll to me".  I can enjoy a good hymn.  I can enjoy a nice mellow worship song.  But, the heart in my aging body beats to the sounds of  loud guitars, drums and a hammer bass beat.

I'm over 60.  Let's see, which decade of "those younger than me" loves the old songs, Loves the hymns,  Which didn't embrace Rock and Roll.  They are all in Church already.  We ran the rest off.

"As an over 50, roots in the 70's Jesus movement, rocker turned worshiper, ever seeking, almost senior child of God, I am so thankful to find your station. A Holy Spirit inspired breath of freshness. Bless you and keep on bringing it.. "

So, if a visitor comes to Church next Sunday will they hear music of the heart or a foreign sound they can't connect with?  When I played Rain Down by Delirious for a friend of mine who would say he isn't devout or even a non devout Christian, he liked it and said that it sounded like U2.  It does.

U2 is the heartbeat of many who are Christians today.  My friend Tom follows them faithfully and he is in his 50s.  Worship for him sounds like U2.  He loves that wall of sound.

We as the body of Christ didn't succeed in evangelizing the missing generation (35-55).  We did get them to come to Church.  They came. Once.  Then we tried to indoctrinate them into liking "Our Kind of Music".  They didn't speak the language.  Went home and never came back.  It would be as if someone invited me to a Korean Church.  I could enjoy it kinda, but since I speak not a peep of Korean I would soon leave for a Church that spoke my language.  When I was saved it seemed like you were handed a cassette of 200 praise songs to memorize and be ready to enter in to at the drop of a worship leaders chord progression.  That doesn't work any more.

We missed them.  I don't know if it's too late.  Let's just NOT do that again.  Don Potter from Nashville is older than I am.  He sings "I have a light" and that's the light people are looking for.

Let's show it to them.  Let your light so shine before men that they will see it and Glorify your Father in Heaven.  Sometimes that comes with a 4/4 hard driving beat you can feel in your feet.

People who DON'T go to Church Speak Out - They believe that Jesus makes a difference in People's Lives

A new survey of U.S. adults who don't go to church, even on holidays, finds 72% say "God, a higher or supreme being, actually exists." But just as many (72%) also say the church is "full of hypocrites."

Indeed, 44% agree with the statement "Christians get on my nerves."

LifeWay Research, the research arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, based in Nashville, conducted the survey of 1,402 "unchurched" adults last spring and summer. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

THE IDEA CLUB: Where do you turn for spiritual or religious community?

The survey defines "unchurched" as people who had not attended a religious service in a church, synagogue or mosque at any time in the past six months.

More than one in five (22%) of Americans say they never go to church, the highest ever recorded by the General Social Survey, conducted every two years by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. In 2004, the percentage was 17%.

Many of the unchurched are shaky on Christian basics, says LifeWay Research director Ed Stetzer.

Just 52% agree on the essential Christian belief that "Jesus died and came back to life."

And 61% say the God of the Bible is "no different from the gods or spiritual beings depicted by world religions such as Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.," although Buddhist philosophy has no god and Hindus worship many.

Belief in 'a generic god'

Non-churchgoers "lean to a generic god that fits into every imaginable religious system, even when (systems) contradict one another," Stetzer says. "If you went back 100 years in North America, there would have been a consensus that God is the God in the Bible. We can't assume this any longer.

"We no longer have a home-field advantage as Christians in this culture."

Most of the unchurched (86%) say they believe they can have a "good relationship with God without belonging to a church." And 79% say "Christianity today is more about organized religion than loving God and loving people."

"These outsiders are making a clear comment that churches are not getting through on the two greatest commandments," to love God and love your neighbor, says Scott McConnell, associate director of LifeWay Research. "When they look at churches … they don't see people living out the faith."

But despite respondents' critical views of organized religion, Stetzer is optimistic. He cites the finding that 78% would "be willing to listen" to someone tell "what he or she believed about Christianity."

They already know believers — 89% of the unchurched have at least one close friend who is Christian, Stetzer noted.

And 71% agreed that "believing in Jesus makes a positive difference in a person's life."

"What surprised me is the openness of the hard-core unchurched to the message of God and Christianity — just not as expressed in church," Stetzer says.

"It's a personal thing, not an institutional thing. It's a matter of starting conversations."

The direct approach

Still, most of Christian belief has seeped into popular culture outside church walls and denominational tethers, says Philip Goff, a professor and director of the Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture at Indiana University in Indianapolis.

New forms of community, such as Internet Bible study and prayer circles, also mean some people don't believe they need a church, Goff says.

"Is there a workshop for churches in being less annoying, less hypocritical?" asks Arthur Farnsley, administrator for the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion and a fellow at Goff's center.

"So much of American religion today is therapeutic in approach, focused on things you want to fix in your life," he says.

"The one-to-one approach is more attractive. People don't go to institutions to fix their problems.

"Most people have already heard the basic Christian message. The question for evangelism now is: Do you have a take that is authentic and engaging in a way that works for the unchurched?"

Sound words from long ago for today

In the Chicago Suburbs we have a pretty good newspaper I don't subscribe to. I should.

It was founded by H C Paddock 120 years ago. His motto is one I subscribe to in life.

Our Aim:
TO FEAR GOD,
TELL THE TRUTH
AND
MAKE MONEY

It seems to be working out. They are still in business. They still aim to tell the truth and they still make money.

If I support a politician or a leader he must be of this aim as well. I do support such a man. I hope you can say the same of the person you support.

Methods versus Results

The best advice I ever heard was this:

If you want to achieve desirable results sometimes you have to employ undesirable methods. Who said doing what was right was easy. It never is.

Pleasant easy to swallow nice politically correct methods yields semi effective, or worse ineffective results.

Pleasing methods most of the time yeilds unpleasing results.

If it was easy, ANYONE COULD DO IT.

Unpleasant Methods many times yields pleasant results.

If process is your goal, results never come, if results is your goal, process is only a vehicle to get there, not the objective.

Form follows function. Talk is cheap, but it takes money to buy whiskey.
Steers try - bulls get results.

So, in the end the question is: is your goal desired results or desirable methods. One leads to resolution, one leads to confusion.

Just a review of some sound thinking. Thanks to Clair Hudson RIP 1991

Why the Prophets of the Old Testament were not a Committee

I get nervous when a bunch of prophets get together to come up with lots of consensus words.  Two things happen, words become general, words become supportive but not directive, words make promises that have no evidence of when or how the manifestation will ever come to pass.  Safe words.  Politically correct words.

I have a copy of the words from a group of respected prophets who got together and compiled what God is saying for 2008.  I wish they hadn't.  It would be more useful if they were to go apart quietly each on their own, then after several days of prayer and fasting come back together with the whole finished prophetic word, each one, alone.  That's not the impression I get of what actually happened.

It makes me kind of sad that this prophetic utterance by committee thing went on.

There is a scriptural story of just such a situation, in fact thinking about it for a minute, there are several stories where consensus prophecy failed, individual men or women of God was the actual word God wanted to speak out.  If you are a Biblical Scholar you will remember the Prophets of Jeremiah's time or the Prophets that prophesied to Ahab to go up against the Kings of Syria, Only Elijah had the right word, if you do you will fail.

So, I like to read prophetic utterance, I like to see it, I just wish it weren't by committee.  It isn't  meant to be that way.  If you are a leader in a church or a ministry you need to attach yourself to a proven prophet of God.  He will give you insight into God's heart and let you see the world and it's situations from the throne room.

Connecting with such a person is important but dicey.  I hope you can find one.  You will be a ship without a rudder or a compass without this Ministry Gift in your life.  You can't hear from God for yourself when the storms come.   Even a Prophet needs a Prophet.

You need encouragement, help, direction, vision and undergirding.  The Prophetic is the only place that's found.  Find it.

What it takes to be a democrat

I have a friend who sent me a "WHAT YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE TO BE A REPUBLICAN LIST". There are a bunch of these out there. Most are pretty dumb. But in the long run, you have to be more insincere to believe that being a democrat is more intellectually honest than being a republican. I don't.

What it takes to be a democrat
  • You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.
  • You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
  • You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUVs.
  • You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.
  • You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.
  • You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
  • You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.
  • You have to believe that self esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
  • You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make The Passion Of The Christ for financial gain only.
  • You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.
  • You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
  • You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee, and Thomas Edison.
  • You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.
  • You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very nice person.
  • You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
  • You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.
  • You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
  • You have to believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese government is somehow in the best interest to the United States.

What a difference a week makes

On January 2, a short 7 days ago I took this picture across the street.

Houses can be winterwonderland pretty.

Same house today, January 8. Not as petty but warmer.

So Much so I still don't have the outdoor Christmas Lights Down.

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, dashing thru the ?????????

Here's what it looks like today, No Snow. One week, a couple days in the 60s and bingo, gone.

I love the weather in IL, 4 seasons in a week. Welcome Spring.

Here's the only snow I could find anywhere. Only because the snowplow piled it up.

It'll be gone soon too.

This year I piled lots of mulch over where the Glads were. I did so for the roses too. I don't know if it will work, but I don't do well trying to carry them over.

70 days till spring.

A Big Shock To Me

More than half of all born again Christians attending Churches today are Pentecostal (Speak in other tongues).
Charismatics are found throughout the fabric of American Christianity. Although just 8% of the population is evangelical, half of evangelical adults (49%) fit the charismatic definition. A slight majority of all born again Christians (51%) is charismatic. Nearly half of all adults who attend a Protestant church (46%) are charismatic.
When you live in Christian Charismatic circles as I do you just assume that everyone on the planet either is charismatic or will be very soon.
I guess there's still work to do. ;>)) Now, you have to know some of this is tongue in cheek and meant to poke a little. But, it is a wonderful thing that now officially or unofficially Pentecostalism, is now the dominant Christian expression in the USA among those who are born again. I know that the dominant Christian expression around the world is Pentecostalism, and around the world there is a huge revival going on. It gives me hope that Revival is on the WAY in the USA.
Praise the Lord!

25 Reasons I Like Mike

From Professor X:

Listed are just some of the reasons why I and most others switched our vote to Huckabee:

1. Huckabee can think fast on his feet.

2. He is personable and has a great sense of humor.

3. He is real and does NOT put up a front.

4. Huckabee considers the poor and less fortunate.

5. Huckabee is extremely knowledgeable about various issues and communicates with confidence.

6. He is Pro-life and Pro-family.

7. He is witty and competitive.

8. As governor, Huckabee is the longest proven executive leader among all the nominees.

9. He demonstrates wisdom, humility, and self-control.

10. Huckabee is completely understandable and communicates with great depth.

11. Huckabee has a consistent conservative track record.

12. He is noble, honest, compassionate, bold, also attentive to all the questions he was ever asked about WITHOUT being all over the board and WITHOUT sounding scattered.

13. Huckabee is clearly the toughest on border andnational security.

14. Huckabee speaks without annoying hesitations and does not utilize vacuous speech.

15. He has earned the respect of Afro-Americans and Hispanics since he was THE ONLY top ranked one who valued and respected them by attending the latest ethnic sponsored republican forum.

16. He is direct and uncompromising about the FAIR TAX system.

17. Huckabee is very focused and he is all about accomplishing measurable goals.

18. Huckabee has the most practical experience, for over ten years, defeating the Clinton "socialist" political machine in Arkansas and alone has the know-how to defeat them nationally.

19. Huckabee, as governor of Arkansas, did more to practically help the people of New Oreans, LA after Katrina than the governor of Louisiana because Huckabee's state government was so organized.

20. Mike Huckabee sticks to his principles without being pressured to change them at the whim of polls and media pundits. He also answers questions very candidly WITHOUT being nervous and WITHOUT dishonestly covering himself up before the public.

21. Huckabee is also NOT a part of the establishment in a period when there is an anti-establisnment sentiment in America.

22. Mike Huckabee is the ONLY candidate who has a PRO-American trade strategy that holds China accountable for their unethical trade and banking practices, as well as their human rights violations.

23. Mike Huckabee's foreign policy methods DO NOT exclude, alienate or take advantage of America's neighboring countries or potential allies. Such behavior has caused some some nations to despise democracy and the values necessary to maintain it.

24. Huckabee believes that part of winning the war on terror is achieving energy independence.

25. Mike Huckabee is the ONLY candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton and Obama. The people who are passionate about Huckabee are NOT going to suddenly change their vote within the given time period of the primaries. The rest of the nominees command no such passion. Face it. It is all over.

Prepare to Prosper

You can about predict that we are going to go thru a dip, maybe even a hard dip in the economy. The gloom and doomers will hammer you.

The
benefit of being old is that I've seen this before, TWICE. We will live thru this very well.

Last time was in the early 90s. We'll be fine. In fact, when things are tough new
opportunities are opened up and you can prosper. Prepare to Prosper.

My son Tim has a few bad bumps recently. He had to quit his job after cutting his thumb off a half inch. Mostly because the company couldn't pay him anymore. He got 5 job offers TODAY. He'll be fine.

So, enjoy your life and quit worrying about it all. I am. Don't let the news depress you. I've seen it all before.

I am not alone

Bad Biofuel Bets

This is why Government shouldn't endorse technologies.

Biofuels are dumb.

Are You Willing to Take a Bullet for Jesus?

My guess is most Christians nominal or not would say Sure. For Jesus? Sure.

I'm here to call you out. I think you are a liar unless you regularly put yourself in a place where you might have to take a bullet. Most Christians talk the talk but avoid walking where they might have to duck.

I don't think in today's environment John the Baptist who lost his head would have been bloglisted on a blogroll in much of the blogoshpere of 25 AD. Herod wouldn't have allowed him to comment on his blog. It got intense when Herod was accused of sleeping with his brothers wife he took John off the blogroll by cutting off his head.

I bring that up because I'm not on almost anyone's blogroll today except Steve Scott's to my knowledge. I'm not offended. It's ok. I have plenty of readers with or without the blogroll endorsement of others or that others because of offense or cowardice took me off theirs.

Today I was threatened by another blog I write for to be Banned because I said some things that are righteousness and light.

I offend nearly everyone at some point or another. Some people say to me, "If you would just say it nicer you would not be banned or shunned". OK, I'll buy that. Which of the disciples after Pentecost were saying things nicer.

Stumped? You should be.

Once the power of the Holy Ghost came on them they called it like it was. Just like John the Baptist did and he was beheaded. Just like Jesus did and he was crucified. Almost all the other disciples took that bullet for Jesus. They were kind men but not always nice. Nice is popular, kindness many times is not.

When Jesus said, "You shall receive power when the holy Ghost comes upon you so that you can be my Witnesses" the word witness should more accurately be defined Martyr.

I don't have a martyrdom complex. I'm a Soldier of the Lord. That's pretty safe until I publicize it. I'm willing to take a bullet for Him. How about you?

I see no evidence of any middle of the road NICE man or woman of God doing anything that amounted to much after Pentecost. The nice folks didn't write the epistles of the new testament. The nice folks aren't part of our saints of old. Nice folks blended into the wallpaper of eternity, made it to heaven and were chastised for what they were called to do and didn't do. Come to think of it, Martin Luther was kind but not all that nice. I'm in good company.

If I have ever offended you in some way, that's a clue for you to check your heart. Whatever offends you reveals your heart's condition.

At one time I was on the blogroll of 11 blogs. Today just one. I have been threatened today to be banned from ever commenting or posting on another.
It smarts when you take a bullet.

I just did. How about YOU?

Cheap oil if you buy it in Gold.

The Wall Street Journal's good article last week about the price of oil and gasoline in real dollars was pretty well written.

From that Article:

Since 2001 the dollar price of oil and gold have run in almost perfect tandem (see nearby chart). The gold price has risen 239% since 2001, while the oil price has risen 267%. This means that if the dollar had remained "as good as gold" since 2001, oil today would be selling at about $30 a barrel, not $99. Gold has traditionally been a rough proxy for the price level, so the decline of the dollar against gold and oil suggests a U.S. monetary that is supplying too many dollars.

What that means in real terms is we don't have high priced oil, we have a cheap and cheapening dollar. This isn't good news in the short term.

But, as the world turns with a 13 trillion dollar economy kicking in we will reverse the trend and you will see gold retreat as it always does, dollar recover from here as it always does, and the Euro retreat.

The Doomsayers are wrong.

The Video You Tube Won't Let You Watch

This is a video that if you try to watch on You Tube they will block you. This is one way you will be able to see it without censorship.

WHY? It tells truth about the left wing assisted invasion of Europe by radical Islam.

Sweden is in free fall sociologically. They are the canary in the coal mine. This is happening in the USA as well.

This is why when you hear all about Britteny Spears it's the same thing. Watch this and see if you see what I see.

Old Liberals never die, they just go nuts

McGovern is calling for Bush and Cheney to be impeached.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – George McGovern, the Democratic Party's 1972 nominee for president, is calling on Congress to impeach President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

And in an editorial in Sunday's Washington Post, McGovern writes the case for impeaching the current president is "far stronger" than the case made against former President Richard Nixon — the man who soundly defeated McGovern in the general election match up.

"Bush and Cheney are clearly guilty of numerous impeachable offenses," McGovern writes. "They have repeatedly violated the Constitution. They have transgressed national and international law. They have lied to the American people time after time.

"Their conduct and their barbaric policies have reduced our beloved country to a historic low in the eyes of people around the world," he continued.

McGovern, a former three-term senator who ran for president on a fiercely anti-war platform, also called the administration's policy in Iraq a "a murderous, illegal, nonsensical war" in violation of international law.

"This reckless disregard for life and property, as well as constitutional law, has been accompanied by the abuse of prisoners, including systematic torture, in direct violation of the Geneva Conventions of 1949," he added.

But McGovern acknowledged there is little bipartisan support for an impeachment effort, blaming "superficial partisanship" among Republicans, and a "a lack of courage and statesmanship on the part of too many Democratic politicians."

Clinton and Obama

I have no dog in this hunt.   BUT!

Why is Clinton having the stuffing kicked out of her by a nice naive novice from Illinois without a lick of experience at anything but running for office.

A man who has never met a payroll, never had an original idea in his life and no strategy for anything except being nice looking and a good talker.

I don't get it.

Let's hope President Mike can beat him.  He appears to be the heir apparent in the Dem party.

Yikes.
