I guess the World Health Organization already has that Ebola thing handled... right? I mean taxing cigarettes is really really important.. heck somebody might die.

The World Health Organization (WHO) will meet behind closed doors in Moscow later this month to discuss adopting new measures to regulate and curb the use of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes.

The DEVIL USES PROPHECY TOO... to create fear

I got a phone call from a friend yesterday. One who I have known for many years. He and I were trained under Pastor Dan Rothwell. Peter Mehl was part of that time. We were good AG men of God. Yet as time has gone on I have come to recognize a demonic scheme to sideline people of power to cause them to be ineffective for Kingdom Expansion. Some of that even existed then.
As a prophet, I rely on the written word of God as it is brought to life by the Spirit. I rely on the voice of God speaking to me (inaudible). I rely on the prophetic input from trusted prophets that have proven themselves for decades. I know what I believe and some things that are in the atmosphere are untrue. Some of what is passing itself for the prophetic is Bandwagon Prophecy. The idea that if everyone believes this and is buying into it, it must be true. I don't do bandwagons. If you are looking for someone to reinforce the latest prophetic fad, I'm not your prophet. I only say what God says, not some book, some sensationalist TV program, some internet site, some magazine is promoting. They make great conference speakers, sell a lot of books and capture people's imaginations. They are not my source. They should not be yours either.
If I were the devil and I wanted to hobble the Body of Christ to ineffectiveness on the earth today, here's what I would do:
I would get scriptural evidence to propound a lie of fear. If it succeeds it would cause people to draw back, to freeze up, to become paranoid, to hide out. OH, I could find lots of well meaning Christian leaders to advance the theories, always in the future. Always with dire consequence or GREAT reward.. but just not now.
I would divert Christian's attentions from building the Kingdom to looking for devious schemes, secret associations, antichrists, temples, calves, plots, strategies that would either protect them from harm or offer untold riches. Either would do.
I would preoccupy Christians with meaningless activity. Sports, Entertainment, Pop Music, Politics and dozens of other things that eat huge amounts of time and energy with no effect. If they invested themselves in Kingdom building with the same energy it would be really dangerous to the devil.
I would cause them to engage in Quixotic battles in protest of supposed wrongs and error in the culture while not facing the reality of what I (the devil) am really doing.
I would create false hopes and false fears to keep Christians out of the arena.
I would emphasize faith over action. Spend much time in group prayer and little time in group action. The idea that a Christian is part of the answer to every prayer they pray will be disempowered.
I would create all kinds of signs that people get excited about while neutralizing the capacity for the true Sons of Issachar to speak up. "From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take." 1 Chronicles 12:32 Those who are able to see and hear what is happening in the culture will be set aside for the sensational.
These things take a lot of forms in our Christian Culture. I don't attack any one of these, but I speak to the cumulative effect of all of them. They have succeeded in taking Christians off the battlefield and onto the sidelines.
Here is a list.. you may be able to add to this: Rapture, Millennial Reign, Left Behind, Blood Moons and the Shemitah, The Harbinger, Why the rapture will happen in 1988..(it didn't), Why the world will end in 2000 (It didn't), Harold Camping end of the world 1994 and 2011 (it didn't), the Revaluation of all Currencies any day now, The Revaluation of the Dinar, Dong, Zim and a dozen other worthless pieces of paper (this is insidious because it creates hope in nothing and makes the heart sick), and all the end time stuff, the Masons, the Illuminati, Aliens and a hundred other mindless conspiracy theories.
To be clear, I love a good conspiracy theory as much as anyone else. Entertaining stuff. YET.. the reality is there is nothing that surprises Father. They are a waste of time to the Christian.
There is enough trouble for today, we don't need to bother tomorrow for some of it's trouble. There is a lot of pain and suffering in the world. IF those beheaded by Isis will sit in judgement of us someday as the Bible says, how will we measure up?
The real problem with all this is it takes away from the mission and mandate. Nations, Disciples, Kingdom. It's interesting that the last words of Jesus in Great Commission lines up with what the Word of God says he taught in His last days on earth, "Concerning the Kingdom".
There will come a day of trouble in our national, even global, life. I have written on what that will look like. You won't be able to avoid it. Money won't help. Think of the Christians in Mosul, some crucified by ISIS .. they had money. Now they are dead or refugees. Your only hope is to trust GOD for your provision. Your relationship with HIM and with others around you will be your only currency in that day. This is not the GREAT tribulation, but a great tribulation.
My friend, who I mentioned above, deals with people who invest a lot of money. He told me that many good Christians of wealth are very frightened because of all the dire prophecies. They are wanting to take their money out of investments. They want to hide. To not grow. To protect. To draw back. Same it true of Rapture Ready folks.. they are ready for nothing. Useless on the Battlefield.
We were to run to the Battle, not draw back as some do. You can't do that if you are in constant fear.
Stop the Fear.. Jesus said that to the Disciples on the Boat when he woke up in the storm.
He is up again and saying STOP THE FEAR.
I'm guessing you can quote me much from the word of God to support or oppose the truth of what I have just written. I don't want to argue. I just want you to stop being terrified. Don't let anyone push you around spiritually "Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath." Colossians 2:16
God has NOT given you a spirit of Fear.. that comes from down below. FEAR NOT..for I am with you.. He either is and your believe Him or you doubt Him and and you will faint when it comes.

Coming soon

I did not know all this...wow

Well, you learn something every day...
IRISH: THE FORGOTTEN WHITE SLAVES
They came as slaves: human cargo transported on British ships bound for the Americas. They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children.
Whenever they rebelled or even disobeyed an order, they were punished in the harshest ways. Slave owners would hang their human property by their hands and set their hands or feet on fire as one form of punishment. Some were burned alive and had their heads placed on pikes in the marketplace as a warning to other captives.
We don’t really need to go through all of the gory details, do we? We know all too well the atrocities of the African slave trade.
But are we talking about African slavery? King James VI and Charles I also led a continued effort to enslave the Irish. Britain’s Oliver Cromwell furthered this practice of dehumanizing one’s next door neighbour.
The Irish slave trade began when James VI sold 30,000 Irish prisoners as slaves to the New World. His Proclamation of 1625 required Irish political prisoners be sent overseas and sold to English settlers in the West Indies.
By the mid 1600s, the Irish were the main slaves sold to Antigua and Montserrat. At that time, 70% of the total population of Montserrat were Irish slaves.
Ireland quickly became the biggest source of human livestock for English merchants. The majority of the early slaves to the New World were actually white.
From 1641 to 1652, over 500,000 Irish were killed by the English and another 300,000 were sold as slaves. Ireland’s population fell from about 1,500,000 to 600,000 in one single decade.
Families were ripped apart as the British did not allow Irish dads to take their wives and children with them across the Atlantic. This led to a helpless population of homeless women and children. Britain’s solution was to auction them off as well.
During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia.
Another 30,000 Irish men and women were also transported and sold to the highest bidder. In 1656, Cromwell ordered that 2000 Irish children be taken to Jamaica and sold as slaves to English settlers.
Many people today will avoid calling the Irish slaves what they truly were: Slaves. They’ll come up with terms like “Indentured Servants” to describe what occurred to the Irish. However, in most cases from the 17th and 18th centuries, Irish slaves were nothing more than human cattle.
As an example, the African slave trade was just beginning during this same period. It is well recorded that African slaves, not tainted with the stain of the hated Catholic theology and more expensive to purchase, were often treated far better than their Irish counterparts.
African slaves were very expensive during the late 1600s (£50 Sterling). Irish slaves came cheap (no more than £5 Sterling). If a planter whipped, branded or beat an Irish slave to death, it was never a crime. A death was a monetary setback, but far cheaper than killing a more expensive African.
The English masters quickly began breeding the Irish women for both their own personal pleasure and for greater profit. Children of slaves were themselves slaves, which increased the size of the master’s free workforce.
Even if an Irish woman somehow obtained her freedom, her kids would remain slaves of her master. Thus, Irish mothers, even with this new found emancipation, would seldom abandon their children and would remain in servitude.
In time, the English thought of a better way to use these women to increase their market share: The settlers began to breed Irish women and girls (many as young as 12) with African men to produce slaves with a distinct complexion. These new “mulatto” slaves brought a higher price than Irish livestock and, likewise, enabled the settlers to save money rather than purchase new African slaves.
This practice of interbreeding Irish females with African men went on for several decades and was so widespread that, in 1681, legislation was passed “forbidding the practice of mating Irish slave women to African slave men for the purpose of producing slaves for sale.” In short, it was stopped only because it interfered with the profits of a large slave transport company.
England continued to ship tens of thousands of Irish slaves for more than a century. Records state that, after the 1798 Irish Rebellion, thousands of Irish slaves were sold to both America and Australia. There were horrible abuses of both African and Irish captives. One British ship even dumped 1,302 slaves into the Atlantic Ocean so that the crew would have plenty of food to eat.
There is little question the Irish experienced the horrors of slavery as much (if not more, in the 17th Century) as the Africans did. There is also little question that those brown, tanned faces you witness in your travels to the West Indies are very likely a combination of African and Irish ancestry.
In 1839, Britain finally decided on it’s own to end its participation in Satan’s highway to hell and stopped transporting slaves. While their decision did not stop pirates from doing what they desired, the new law slowly concluded this chapter of Irish misery.
But, if anyone, black or white, believes that slavery was only an African experience, then they’ve got it completely wrong. Irish slavery is a subject worth remembering, not erasing from our memories.
But, why is it so seldom discussed? Do the memories of hundreds of thousands of Irish victims not merit more than a mention from an unknown writer?
Or is their story to be the one that their English masters intended: To completely disappear as if it never happened.
None of the Irish victims ever made it back to their homeland to describe their ordeal. These are the lost slaves; the ones that time and biased history books conveniently forgot.

Monday Night Peggy and I attended this opera. Beautiful music. I had not seen it before. Heard it on the radio from the Met. It's part of our season tickets to the Lyric. What was sad is two Great Sopranos Renee Fleming and Sofie Von Otter were stars of this. This quality of singing should have filled the house to overflow. It didn't. We have Ms Von Otter's Cds at home. She's a great talent (mezzo). I guess I am out of the loop on this. It should have been a barn burner. Opera is funny stuff.. but to those of us who love it.. it's rewarding, in spite of the fact that I was coughing into my large handkerchief often during the performance.
Renee Fleming has taken her time bringing one of her most celebrated operatic roles, Countess Madeleine in Richard Strauss' "Capriccio," to the company for which she serves as creative consultant.

We Can Change the World

2014-10-05 We Can Change the World

The video is here.
Some would say, “No, you can’t change the world.” Others would say, “One person at a time, starting with me.” For those who are staying to build the Kingdom, and not leaving in the rapture, we can get started on our assignment right now. Here’s how.
Personal change – The western bias premised on “enlightened reasoning” is that change happens when we change our minds. Nothing could be further from the truth. Everything we say and do comes right out of our hearts. Our intellect is nothing more than a computer that offers up a rationalization for what we already believe in our hearts. That’s why intellectual arguments usually lead to more division than change. Our culture has no working model that accounts for the role of our hearts. We are not just conflicted with our neighbors; most of us are internally conflicted because we don’t believe or act in a way that is consistent with our own hearts… we don’t know what is in our hearts; it’s hidden. My own logical, intellectual beliefs have no power over my words or behavior. My affirmations, resolutions, goals and ambitions don’t work unless they coincide with what is in my heart.
For example, name your favorite contentious issue: global warming, GMO foods, immigration, politics… Rational facts are just tools to beat the other team up. Scientific support for a position is very often just a convenient alignment of data to support a preconceived position of the heart. Science was commonly used to support beliefs in a flat earth and the inferiority of other races. Nothing has really changed. People look at the same facts and reach totally different conclusions… for very good heart reasons.
2014-10-04 reasoning
We are stuck in our current division along party lines or belief systems which are collections of heart beliefs… some individually held and others collectively held. It’s worth noting that large numbers of people hold common heart beliefs which can last for generations… anti-Semitism, racism, terrorism, etc. Many ideologies have legs – a power of their own to reproduce and multiply. They have common roots in the rationale of the heart, and some of them have a spiritual power and root behind them. Our intellectually based culture doesn’t generally acknowledge influences on our hearts or our spirit.
Mind, Heart and Spirit – Even Christians believe that if we “know” the truth it will set us free. The Biblical concept of knowing something is to “experience” truth in our hearts, not just know it in our heads. There is no word for “mind” in Hebrew. Our hearts are very rational and have good reasons for our current beliefs. Our minds don’t decide or change those beliefs; intellect just explains our beliefs. What we do believe on any topic is largely pre-determined by similar experiences in our past, which our heart has faithfully stored as a lens to interpret every new thing. Changing a heart belief can be done, but the implication is that our hearts have to have a good reason to change our interpretation of every similar thing in our history.
For example, a politician comes along with a new agenda. Will we vote for him? Our hearts will make that decision instantly on things like… Does he remind us (by appearance or personality) of someone who hurt or helped in the past? Are his ideas similar to our prior experiences that were hurtful or helpful? My point is that the current person and concept has very little objective influence on our response… which has deep and often hidden roots in our heart or subconscious.
How change happens – Hearts let go of old beliefs in exchange for new beliefs for one reason… a new heart experience. We have to “experience” a new truth to adopt it at a heart level. People change rapidly and radically when they have a heart encounter… experiencing love from another person, experiencing the presence of God, physical healing, resonating with a prophetic word, or hearing the voice of God for themselves in their hearts. I often see people light up and change if I can connect them prophetically and practically with a desire that God has written in their heart. His sheep heart His voice – it’s amazing! Let’s summarize:
  1. What we say we believe on any given topic is really a rationalization of something in our heart… not necessarily based on present factual reality, but there is always a clear connection in our hearts to a past experience (good or bad). Our mental explanations of what we believe are often just propaganda.
  2. There are themes of collective heart beliefs that cause people to think alike (or be at odds)… Like personality profiles or Jungian archetypes.
  3. If we address the root heart beliefs behind an ideology, we can heal / unite masses of people at one time.
Implications – Heart influences are just starting to be understood in fields like political psychology and marketing / branding. The secular explanation goes something like this, “Ideology is a set of motivational imperatives that have their roots in personality, socialization, and schematic bias.” God says it more like this:
“The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful, a puzzle that no one can figure out. But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.” Jer 17:9-10 Message Bible
God’s solution to the problem of dark and stubborn hearts corrupted by bad past experiences is that He wrote the desires of His own heart in each one of us. We are all created in His image and have a natural longing to be like Jesus. It is our destiny to be creative and powerful and healing. When we connect hearts with those natural longings, people run toward them and become themselves, get saved, take their place in the Kingdom and inherit their land. It’s really not that hard when we understand hearts instead of minds.
2014-10-04 change the world
This slide has a very subtle but profound observation that we shouldn’t miss. Our ability to discern and receive new truth is determined by our connection to the Father… not our intellectual capacity! Everything starts with a heart experience with Jesus and our invitation for Him to dwell in our hearts. Sheep are not particularly bright, but our shepherd knows everything and shares it with us if we listen.
“If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself. John 7:17 NASU
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. Matt 6:22-23 NIV (eyes of our heart)
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. Luke 8:15 NIV (the soil of our heart)
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13-14 NIV
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”— 10 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? 1 Cor 2:9-11 NIV
One more level – Ideologies, or collective heart beliefs, can have a spiritual power behind them that must be recognized and either prayerfully dealt with or wisely avoided. The desires of our hearts can have roots in “deceiving spirits and things taught by demons” (1 Tim 4:1-3). Jesus told the Pharisees that they were unable to hear Him because “you belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire” (Jn 8:44). It’s even more powerful to belong to our heavenly Father and carry out His desires (1 Cor 6:19). Spiritual powers and principalities do influence the spirits and hearts of people. Some heart boundaries are collective in nature and represent spiritual strongholds. Some deceptive ideas and concepts are ideological arguments that started with a demon.
I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. 2Cor 10:3-5
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph 6:10-13 NIV
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. 1 John 4:4-6 NIV
Here is the point. We have authority over the power behind false ideologies. Right now the news is filled with stories of terrorism fueled by the ideology of Islamic supremacy. It will be overcome militarily, but the people caught in the wake of this deception are also captives who need to be set free from an ideological bondage. Their hearts need a reason and an experience to turn to God. It’s our job to overcome the ideology and the spirit behind it.  It’s very possible… the imperialism that was Japan and the Aryan supremacy that was Germany are distant artifacts of history today. We have to admit that our leaders around the world in every mountain are operating in an intellectual paradigm that doesn’t even acknowledge power of God’s Spirit to deliver us from false ideologies into what is really true. They are not able to engage in the complete battle… that’s why we’re here… to change the world.
When the key to the Kingdom unlocks the prison of an ideology, it feels like revival and reformation comes to whole nations. That’s our job to make disciples of nations. It’s the Spirit of God that comes in like a flood and overwhelms the strategies of evil (Isa 59:19)… demons are afraid of us. Needy people love us back.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20 NIV

This is a great comparison by John E Carlisle

Jews and Muslims:
An Intellectual Comparison
How could the picture be painted any more vividly?
The Global Islamic population is approximately 1,200,000,000 or roughly 20% of the world's population.
TOTAL: 14 (FOURTEEN) Nobel Prize Recipients
The Global Jewish population is approximately 14,000,000 or about 0.2% of the world's population.
TOTAL: 193 (ONE HUNDRED NINETY THREE) Nobel Prize Recipients!
The Jews are NOT promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non-Muslims!
The Jews do NOT hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants. There is NOT one single Jew that has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew that protests by killing people.
The Jews do NOT traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.
Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.
Muslims must ask "what can they do for humankind" before they demand that humankind respects them!
Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel's part, the following quote says it all:
"'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel."
