Anti-Christian Group Attacks Ark Encounter
Fox News is reporting on the ongoing war on Christian freedom of religious expression perpetrated by “Reverend” Barry Lynn’s Americans United for Separation of Church and State organization.
The planned construction of Ark Encounter, a creationist theme park in Kentucky that could be eligible for millions of dollars in tax incentives, has come under fire from critics who say it would rupture the wall of separation between church and state.
Anti-Christians like Lynn couldn’t wait to howl about the Ark Encounter project as soon as it was announced. Answers in Genesis, the nonprofit ministry that will partner with Ark Encounter in funding the construction of the attraction, issued this statement in the wake of misinformation and incomplete information provided by the “mainstream” media:
We'll just all take a mark and buy and sell that way, yeah, that's the ticket

Tea Partiers and the Spirit of Giving
Read the whole thingWhen it comes to voluntarily spreading their own wealth around, a distinct "charity gap" opens up between Americans who are for and against government income leveling. Your intuition might tell you that people who favor government redistribution care most about the less fortunate and would give more to charity. Initially, this was my own assumption. But the data tell a different story.
The most recent year that a large, nonpartisan survey asked people about both redistributive beliefs and charitable giving was 1996. That year, the General Social Survey (GSS) found that those who were against higher levels of government redistribution privately gave four times as much money, on average, as people who were in favor of redistribution. This is not all church-related giving; they also gave about 3.5 times as much to nonreligious causes. Anti-redistributionists gave more even after correcting for differences in income, age, religion and education.
Of course, there are other ways to give than with money. Here again the results may be different from what you might expect. The GSS in 2002 showed that those who said the government was "spending too much money on welfare" were more likely to donate blood than those who said the government was "spending too little money on welfare." The anti-redistributionists were also more likely to give someone directions on the street, return change mistakenly handed them by a cashier, and give food (or money) to a homeless person.
So what does all this tell us? Contrary to the liberal stereotype of the hard-hearted right-winger, opposition to income-leveling is not evidence that one does not care about others. Quite the contrary. The millions of Americans who believe in limited government give disproportionately to others. This is in addition to—not instead of—their defense of our free-enterprise system, which gives the most people the most opportunities to earn their own success.
Of Course that dope Paul Krugman doesn't get this and writes that the Right is a bunch of Scrooges.
HA. Of course I shouldn't be surprised. He is wrong nearly all the time about almost everything.

Why we are broke
Read the whole thing but take a blood pressure pill first.
The massive new tax bill signed into law by President Barack Obama is filled with all kinds of holiday stocking stuffers for businesses: tax breaks for producing TV shows, grants for putting up windmills, rum subsidies for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. There is even a tax break for people who buy race horses.
Millions of homeowners, however, might feel like they got a lump of coal. Homeowners who don't itemize their deductions will lose a tax break for paying local property taxes.
Storms, water, Southern California: In a region that imports water, much goes to waste - latimes.com
This frustrates the heck out of me. Farmers are going bust so LA can have water. Yet every year tons of water lands on southern CA. They just shunt it off to the ocean. The ocean doesn't need it. They could keep this on the land, but don't.
I don't want to hear about water shortages in Southern CA again.
Change the landscape of southern CA today!
Stop wasting water!
I'm guessing they learned this form of "Greeting" from the Westboro Baptist Thugs
Have pro-lifers do the same thing at Planned Parenthood folks’ homes, and see how they cover that. Just remember, the political pitchfork is turning, people are paying attention, the media don’t control the narrative any more, and all this stuff is precedent . . . .
Here's the story as it is told by the local TV station. Pretty mellow. They get a lot of $$ from the union.
THUGS, that's what they are. If this is union, I'm anti union!
I remember that night. Astronauts circling the moon. Reading Genesis to the whole world that was watching. We were in the living room at home in Ellendale. It was moving. That same year MLK and Bobby Kennedy had been shot. Our money came off the Gold standard and drifted toward what it is today. 1968 was a pivotal year. Not for good. But this was good.
Be who you are and you will find those who will hate you. It's OK. Jesus was hated and said we will be too. Good Company to be in. Merry Christmas.
The snow lay on the ground
The stars shone bright
When Christ our Lord was born
On Christmas night.
Venite adoremus Dominum
Venite adoremus Dominum.
Great song, but there was no snow. It was September. Cool night, but no snow. BUT TODAY, in St Charles, the snow lays on the ground. And it's snowing now.
Feliz Navidad
Every Christmas Baby Jesus is born in a child's heart. A song. A verse. A poem. Not Rocking around, Santa Baby, Here comes, Jingle bell. But Jesus incarnate on the earth, God and Man. Tabernacled among us. A seed of faith planted, grows. Until a vision of the cross - redemption from EVERY SIN, EVERY PAIN, EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT washed away by perfect blood. Salvation comes. It IS a very Merry Christmas indeed.
Lo how a rose e'er blooming
From tender stem hath sprung
Of Jesse's lineage coming
As men of old have sung
It came, a flow'ret bright
...Amid the cold of winter
When half spent was the night.
There were roses in ancient Israel at the time. Contemporary with the day of his birth. Rosa sancta, Rosa damask. You can still find these varieties. In the Mediterranean climate often a rose blooms thru the snow.
We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain, moor and mountain
Following yonder star.
...O star of wonder, star of light
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light.
The Kings most likely visited Jesus in Nazareth. Some think that Mary and Joseph stayed in Bethlehem. He would have had relatives there. And fled to Egypt from there. One thing for sure...they were led to the Perfect Light of all the world.
Where Unions Are, Americans Aren't
The American people have been voting with their feet, the Census Bureau announced on Tuesday, leaving states with heavy union influence and choosing to live in "right-to-work" states with higher job growth where they cannot be forced to join a union as a condition of employment.
But the National Labor Relations Board, now dominated by Obama appointees, is deaf to the preferences of voting Americans. It wants to do everything in its administrative power to tilt the playing field towards unionization-even if it means higher unemployment and lost jobs.
As a result of geographic shifts in population uncovered by the 2010 Census, nine congressional seats will move to right-to-work states from forced unionization states. Some winners are Texas, Florida, Arizona, Georgia, and South Carolina, while losers include New York, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and New Jersey. Over the past 25 years job growth in right-to-work states has been over twice as high as in unionized states.
EPA sets schedule to limit pollution from power plants, oil refineries - latimes.com
The Environmental Protection Agency announced a timetable Thursday to curtail greenhouse gas emissions from two major sources of the pollution scientists link to global warming: power plants and oil refineries.
The announcement was the latest step in an ambitious effort to begin taking action on climate change, and it is certain to draw fire from congressional Republicans and industry leaders who have promised to halt the agency's efforts.
The new move toward far-reaching emissions rules comes as environmentalists had begun to worry that the Obama administration was easing its push in order to avoid confrontations with major industries in advance of the 2012 presidential campaign.
Unlike regulations coming out Jan. 2 that address pollution only from new facilities or expansions, the schedule announced Thursday would eventually compel industry to reduce emissions across the board, including at older sites. Power plants and oil refineries account for almost 40% of the country's greenhouse gas emissions.

Good News
IS there anything redemptive about ISLAM? I can't seem to figure it out
Ten Inches of Rain. I HOPE that the state of CA and in particular LA has retained all this rain on the land in reservoirs rather than shunting it off into the ocean. I hear how short on water CA is. I'm sure they have infrastructure in place to capture and retain EVERY DROP. IF not, WHY?
This is from George Mason University. No conservative think tank. But if you are an amateur economist as I am (I have shelves full of books on economics, does that qualify?) you will find the PDF linked in this report gripping even if you only look at the charts. The day of reckoning is coming. Everything else is whistling past the graveyard.
I wonder who the personalities and editors at CBS and 60 Minutes supported in the last elections? Would they have supported Brady over Quinn? Republicans over Democrat? They are ready to condemn the results but not the ones causing the problem. Democrat/liberal crazy spending politicians. Corruption in Illinois has a face. Why bother with this indictment? It's over.
Just to make sure you get this whole man caused, made, influenced global warming malarkey right, I thought he would want to see this pretty interesting non human explanation for the climate change. AlGore was a fool. He invested in something a book I am reading right now (an OLD book 1841) called Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds. I commend it.
I'm confused. I think there may be something due here, BUT, why now, with lame ducks? The Dems have had the power to do this for two years and did not. This has laid dormant, not acted on. WHY NOW? WHY WITH THIS CONGRESS? Ditto for Start?

A Merry Christmas Wish from Herman Cain - This is worth reading
By Herman Cain
He was not born into a royal family, but He left a royal impression on the world.
For 30 years, He learned the ways of the world without becoming of the world. He then changed the world for the better.
He led without a mandate. He taught without a script. His common sense parables filled people with promise and compassion, His words forever inspiring.
He never condemned what others believed – just sin, evil and corruption.
He helped the poor without one government program. He healed the sick without a government health care system. He feed the hungry without food stamps. And everywhere He went, it turned into a rally, attracting large crowds, and giving them hope, encouragement and inspiration.
For three years He was unemployed, and never collected an unemployment check. Nevertheless, he completed all the work He needed to get done. He didn’t travel by private jet. He walked and sailed, and sometimes traveled on a donkey.
But they made Him walk when He was arrested and taken to jail, and no, He was not read any Miranda Rights. He was arrested for just being who He was and doing nothing wrong. And when they tried Him in court, He never said a mumbling word.
He didn’t have a lawyer, nor did He care about who judged Him.
His judge was a higher power.
The liberal court found Him guilty of false offenses and sentenced Him to death, all because He changed the hearts and minds of men with an army of 12.
His death reset the clock of time.
Never before and not since has there ever been such a perfect one.
For over 2,000 years the world has tried hard to erase the memory of Him, and His principles of compassion, caring and common sense.
His followers are now millions and millions the world over, as those who resent Him have intensified their attacks on who He was and what His followers believe.
The attacks are disguised as political correctness, or a misunderstanding of the First Amendment to the Constitution. Separation of Church and State does not mean Separation of Church from State. The State cannot impose Church on the people, but the people can display and say as much Church in the public square as they desire.
Our Founders recognized that distinction, which helped to inspire the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the founding of this nation – The United States of America!
That’s why I proudly wish one and all a very Merry Christmas!
