Our horrid public education system and our collapsing culture can no longer produce the kinds of skilled workers needed to compete in the world economy. China and India do. Every one of those people we bring on an H1b visa to work means five Americans will find work supporting their efforts. BUT while illegal immigrants come in, we keep out the well educated and capable with unrealistic quotas. More ignorance from our government. Yes we can change the system that has failed but the cultural shift needed to do this will be so dramatic that it cannot work short of a crisis... money isn't the solution.
