I know churches where this is exactly what is happening. The problem is, the most valuable, the most useful, the hardest workers, the ones who seem indispensable are the ones who corrupt the Body the worst. Very few leaders have the gut to throw down Jezebel. She convinces them that if they do, they will lose their ministry. So, they bow to her and she creates an insipid soup that centers on her and her need for the spotlight. Seen it, been there, and have a tee shirt. Very sad and if you confront this as a prophet to the leadership, expect NO RESPONSE. Only Jehu can throw down Jezebel, Elijah can only warn and instruct. If you are Elijah, you are going to be very frustrated by this Spirit. You might even decide to go live in a cave for a while. No wonder Jesus came against the Church at Thyatira for tolerating such a thing. I wonder if the leadership had the guts to throw her out even then. I doubt it. A Jezebel controlled church is a Zombie...looks alive but dead at the core.
