The three quotations below carry virtually the same message, yet come from very different sources:

"Aid is just a stop-gap. Commerce [and] entrepreneurial capitalism takes more people out of poverty than aid."
"In dealing with pove
rty here and around the world, welfare and foreign aid are a Band-Aid. Free enterprise is a cure."
"Entrepreneurship is the most sure way of development."

Once a person becomes mature and gets past the "free stuff as mercy delusion", they always come to these conclusions. ALWAYS. This is from an economist, a Rock Star and the President of an African Country. Which is which? By the way, if you want to "FIX" the economic conditions and chronic unemployment in Chicago, Cleveland, LA, Detroit, the same truths apply. AID and MERCY in the form of money does nothing. NOTHING. We have squandered our potential and allowed the most ignorant among us to condition us to believe otherwise. Read that politicians.
