We have a government who's only response to difficulty is more laws, more restriction, silencing any voice of dissent, stopping any action that is not government sanctioned. In the old Soviet Union they had a sardonic saying that went, "Anything not specifically permitted is forbidden". We are nearly there now. You can find these things in the news TODAY.
The USA is watching with interest the capture of people's savings in Europe.
Eric (why isn't he in jail) Holder is investigating the Wall Street Journal.
In England the newspapers are coming under government control. Interestingly the papers most under scrutiny are those owned by Rupert Murdock. The media that supports the police state is free...unless they transgress. Our loss of a free press is a revelation.
Meanwhile TSA and other Homeland Security continues to restrict travel. I had always thought that the capacity of the government to control the movement of people as they did in the Soviet Union would revolve around the drug trade or terrorism. I no longer believe that. It will revolve around Guns. Once Guns are controlled and subject to confiscation there will be checkpoints on highways to inspect your vehicle to see if you are carrying any weapons. Eventually that will stop all interstate travel.
The increasing militarization of our police and the weaponizing of national agencies and the surveillance society we have now in every city and by drone will track every move. That's what a police state does. This is NOT about Obama. Every member of national, state and city government responds in the same way. People are arrested for speaking up in government meetings. Bloggers are jailed. Freedoms we had even 20 years ago are now gone. One of the dis-benefits of being old--er is you can look back clearly and see the drift. We are in big trouble.
