A little car guy stuff.
I'm on a long road trip today. Driving between
Chicago and Indianapolis I was pulled over by a cop for suspicion of
drunk driving. It was about 6 o'clock PM. Why having a hard time
keeping my car between the lines. I was wondering because I was
fighting pretty hard and wondered if I needed ball joints or something.
That's a similar experience I have had with my pickup. I like to run
my tire pressure a little bit high in order to get better gas mileage.
The spec is 30 pounds but I usually run about 37. Its fine but on the
highway it wanders all over the place. This morning I took five pounds
off each front tire. No its behaving perfectly stays inside the line

For want of a nail...
King Richard the
Third was preparing for the fight of his life. An army led by Henry, Earl of
Richmond, was marching against him. The contest would determine who would rule
England.
The morning of the battle, Richard sent a groom to make sure his favorite horse was ready. "Shoe him quickly," the groom told the blacksmith. The king wishes to ride at the head of his troops."
"You'll have to wait," the blacksmith answered. "I've shoed the king's whole army the last few days and now I've got to go get more iron."
"I can't wait," the groom shouted impatiently. "The king's enemies are advancing right now, and we must meet them on the field. Make do with what you have."
So the blacksmith bent to his
task. From a bar of iron he made four horseshoes. He hammered and shaped and
fitted them to the horse's feet. Then he began to nail them on. But after he had
fastened three shoes, he found he did not have enough nails for the fourth.
"I need one or two more nails," he said, "and it will take some time to hammer them out."
"I told you I can't wait," the groom said impatiently. "I hear the trumpets now. Can't you just use what you've got?" "I can put the shoe on, but it won't be as secure as the others."
"Well, then,
just nail it on," the groom cried. "And hurry, or King Richard will be angry
with us both."
The armies clashed, and Richard
was in the thick of the battle. He rode up and down the field, cheering his men
and fighting his foes. "Press forward! Press forward!" he yelled, urging his
troops toward Henry's lines.
Far away, at the other side of the field, he saw some of his men falling back. If others saw them, they too might retreat. So Richard spurred his horse and galloped toward the broken line, calling on his soldiers to turn and fight. He was barely halfway across the field when one of the horse's shoes flew off. The horse stumbled and fell, and Richard was thrown to the ground.
Before the king could grab at
the reins, the frightened animal rose and galloped away. Richard looked around
him. He saw that his soldiers were turning and running, and Henry's troops were
closing around him.
He waved his sword in the air. "A horse!" he shouted. "A horse! My kingdom for a horse!"
But there was no horse for him. His army had fallen apart, and his troops were busy trying to save themselves. A moment later Henry's soldiers were upon Richard; the battle was over.

Here are the 25 Traits of an Alpha male:
1. An Alpha male is very comfortable with himself. He always radiates confidence. He does not fear anyone, he does not really care how people think of him. Confidence is him. He knows he is more important than anyone else in his life.
2.Is very passionate in life. He knows what he loves to do and follows his dreams. A true Alpha male has goals and ambitions, and really high ones. He follows these to the ultimate end, and ends up living a fulfilled life. (And women love passionate men with ambition. They see these kind of men becoming very successful in life and in their unconscious minds this is a qualifying factor in choosing a mate that will be able to provide for their future kids.)
3. Failure is only a minor setback for a real Alpha Male. Its only part of the process, he is learning. He is moving. He will always bounce back from failure, learn from the experience and move ahead with life. Nothing holds him back, after all, he is the Alpha male. Nothing can put him down. I understand Racism better than you because I am white - a message to my black friends.
OH man, I can hear heads exploding all over the place. Yet, in a few ways my capacity for understanding is better, I'm not subjected to it as many are, so my viewpoint carries less emotion than those who are in the line of fire. Like a general who is able to dispassionately see the strategy of the enemy from behind the front lines and help direct the fight, those engaged directly in the warfare many times are confused by the fog of war. Let me offer some perspective. Hang with me here, this will set you free IF you will take it to heart.
In 7 decades on this planet I have been robbed twice. Held up once. Beaten a few times. None of these were by American Indians, African Americans, Hispanics or Asians. They were all crimes commuted by white trash. Bad people who happened to be white. I also have known (even related to) some who are pretty much trash.. swindlers, crooks, violent, drunks and totally untrustworthy. Trailer trash. I keep my distance. They mostly beat on each other. That's why I can't watch a show like honey boo boo. Too close for comfort.
I bear no relationship to those idiots other than the singular fact that they share a skin tone with me. They are reprobates. They represent all that is discredit. "Such were some of you" applies in this case. A few get saved, straighten out, but most stay in the shadows, hustling and without much going for them. They are big users of medicaid, food stamps, section 8 and steal the rest. If you try to help them, they won't be helped. They contribute nothing to the culture. Nothing to the economy. Takers. They spend a lot of time in jails. Worthless men. The Bible talks of them.
I have nothing in common with them. Nothing. Here's the reality. THEY ARE NOT MY BROTHERS.. not for any reason. I want nothing to do with them. I know Jesus died for them. If they come to repentance I will embrace them as brothers. Most of them live in dire poverty. I just won't sanction what got them there. I refuse to be an enabler.
This is why the deception going on right now (the enemy's strategy to divide) is so insidious. I know well, personally, intimately many good people who are trying to live a good life, work, raise good families, do what is right. Honest. Sober. Solid. The kind of people you are proud to know They are truly my brothers and sisters. They are people with a vision. And some of them have black skin. Some of them are reading this right now. You are my Brother and or Sister. In truth. For real. It is you I am talking to. I love you enough to tell you the truth.
The lie is this, because Mike Brown had dark skin he is your brother and you identify with him simply because of his skin color. Mike Brown was not your brother. So many of those who are unfortunately killed by cops are not your brothers or sisters. Trayvon Martin was not your brother. You are not like them at all. The perceived injustices and death are the result of bad choices.. THEY MADE. Just like the white trash people I run across.
Eric Garner was not white trash with black skin. His death is really wrong, but it's not about race. Even his daughter called that right. It's bad laws and bad policing. More about that later. I am admonishing those who have the courage to read this, don't allow your personal experience with racist attitudes expressed towards you to make bad choices and allow you to project them onto a blank screen occupied by Trayvon or Mike Brown. They are not your brothers. Learn to discern.
When you allow the devil to lie to you and self identify yourself with those who do not share the values by which you live, you demean yourself and you make false equivalencies. Stop. I can choose and you can choose who we are to call brothers..

1. Believe in the business — and yourself
There are so many people that will say, 'No — bad idea, it's never going to work’. You have to have a senseless belief in your idea and yourself - almost to the point of being delusional. Remember that everyone has advice but no one knows what you have to go through to start, grow and scale a business until they live it! Talk is cheap, but action speaks volumes.
I often tell the story of the ancient general who took his troops to battle and when they got to the foreign shore, he burned all the ships so there would be no option of retreating. That is the kind of belief you need. There’s no going back.
2. Test before you jump in
Don't ask your mom, your wife, your friends, your barber what they think — those are opinions (and often biased one’s at that!). Test the idea with the only people who really matter: the ones who are going to cut you a cheque for it. Call on some potential clients and see if they will buy whatever it is you’re selling.
3. Everyone lies
Some people will lie to you because they mean to. Others will do it to tell you what you want to hear. Either way, test everything you are told. If someone tells you they are going to invest, get a date. And if the date passes, make sure your spider senses are tingling. If a client tells you he is giving you the order, ask him if it is in procurement yet; if not, ask him if he minds if you call the purchaser yourself. Test what people tell you. They don't always mean to lie to you, but they do lie.
4. Bring a compass
“It's awkward when you have to eat your friends.”
That's a cute saying I saw a long time ago, but it's very true. When you're starting out, you have to realize that it is going to be hard and then it will get worse…far worse than you think. Be prepared to survive the worst situation you can think of — and then assume that things will still get even worse than that.
Be prepared — it's much better to have a compass to get out of the woods (just in case) than to have to eat your friends to survive.
5. If they can't catch you, they can't overtake you
Go fast — really fast. The elephant can't catch a running mouse, but he sure can crush him when the mouse is standing still! When you're small, you’ve got to be faster than the competition. Be nimble, be agile, be responsive. Learn from your customers. As you grow be prepared for the new entrants that want to take you down and ask yourself how you can maintain the sense of agility that led to your initial success.
6. Train for a marathon
This is where I completely contradict myself, because diligence is so important. Once you find a good opportunity, go slow and check and double-check everything. Business is a sprint until you find an opportunity, then it requires the patience of a marathon runner. I know this is hard and trust me, I am not a marathoner — but I have run two of them just to reinforce this point to myself.
7. Hunt for your dinner
No matter how full and fat you get, don't stop looking for opportunities. You can never be satisfied as an entrepreneur, and the basis of any successful, growing business is new clients. Make sure your company always has the attitude of going out and hunting for its dinner. We don't pay our salespeople for renewals at Herjavec Group, that's a customer service job and not a sales job. Sales people should be hunters.
8. There is no work/life balance
Your business is a living, breathing thing, and it has to be fed and grow to survive. There is no balance in your life when your business is in trouble. If you are under the illusion that you can start a business and run it at your life's schedule, you are mistaken. The business is like a starving puppy — when it needs to eat, then it needs to eat regardless of what you have going on personally.
9. Being committed to business is hard
The reason so few companies and people make it: It's not easy.
Be honest with yourself. What price are you willing to pay to make the business work and be successful? Would you sacrifice your time, your family, your friends, your golf game, your entire social life? I am not advocating that you should, but you have to ask yourself if you are prepared to.
10. It's all about the approach
Work hard…have fun…be nice…play fair…dream big.
We only get one chance at this life. If you're going to play this game, play it to win.

As a tea party conservative I would like to change the way policing is done in our nation.
For a long time I have railed against the militarization and mindless brutality of our police in the USA. This can be fixed.. if anyone will listen. The attitude of police in general towards the public is adversarial and that must change. The police must be trained that they are there to serve the public, all of the public including People of Color.
Here (if I were King) is what I would do at once:
1. All candidates for police officer should be psychologically tested before being hired. It appears there are an inordinate number of officers who have real anger and psychological problems and should never have been hired to be in a position of authority.
2. Increase training of officers, particularly in community policing efforts which go a long way in preventing these encounters from being escalated by the police themselves. Police should be trained in methods by which they can defuse a tense situation without using force including when a citizen has a weapon.
3. Any use of force or discharge of a weapon by the police should be reviewed by representative citizens' group, not internal investigations. If appropriate, the case should be referred to district attorney or special prosecutor for criminal charges. This idea of "you work for me" has to return to the mental attitude of policemen and women.,
4. In major cities, get the cops out of their cars and put them to walking a regular beat in normal uniforms with cameras mounted on them. That way they get to know the people and will see them as people instead of suspects.
5. All military grade hardware and weapons needs to be removed from local police departments. They are not properly trained to use these weapons and the presence of such weaponry only escalates any tense situation
6. Every police officer should receive extensive training on Constitutional rights of all citizens. Every officer should be trained in how to interact with the public in a calm and non-threatening way.
I will write much more on this, but for those who get joy in posting bad things about cop abuse of citizens, I'm with you, but it's not race.. it's bad policing. Race bias can't be as easily fixed as bad cops can. This can help.

Why I despise Public Education

know I am hard on public education. Not everyone is a genius. So there
are schools. YET.. we must understand that school and even college is
not suitable for the very bright. I wonder how much genius has be

This seems like good news and in the short run will mean very little gasoline prices perhaps approaching two dollars.

Just THREE cups of coffee a day could slash risk of Alzheimer's, study finds
DRINKING three to five cups of coffee a day could help to significantly lower the risk of suffering Alzheimer's disease, according to the latest research.
Scientists have discovered a link between regular daily intake of the hot drink and a reduction of up to 20 per cent of the chances of developing dementia.
The report released today (thurs) from the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee highlights the role nutrition
can play in preserving cognitive function, especially during the
preclinical phase of Alzheimer's before full-blown symptoms of dementia
occur.
It notes that a Mediterranean diet,
consisting of fish, fresh fruit and vegetables, olive oil and red wine,
has already been associated with a reduced risk for development of
Alzheimer's Disease.

In light of Ferguson, this repost of something I wrote in October is meaningful.. Please read the whole thing
The Civil War we are now engaged in (YES WE ARE AT WAR) has two distinct sides. The Statists and the Rebels. There is no middle ground. You are either on one side or the other. You will have to choose. Neither side is perfect, but they are clearly defined not by geography as was the last civil war, but by philosophy. It is not yet a hot war (shooting and killing) but if our leadership in Washington doesn't back away from it's insanity, it will become one. Watching the protests in Ferguson tells me that those on the Statist side don't know how to pick their battles. What they are succeeding in doing is making certain that those on the Rebel side are dug in and ready to go to war. I write this because of what I am seeing. It is a warning.
Civil War implies a government fighting against a rebel faction of the people. But just who is on one side and who is on the other in our war? This Civil War is unlike its predecessors because of the breakdown of physical boundaries brought about by the rise of the Information Age. The fact that you are reading this on a computer and not in a book is why this is come to pass. Don't blame the technology. It only allows for what is already there to come to light. Light is our friend. Truth sets people free.
THE BELLIGERENTS:
THE STATISTS (Blue State Army) is made up of:
Politicians (of both parties) – Once in office, politicians of all philosophies and creeds move quickly towards giving away the treasury to assure their votes. They become part of the problem. This is all the way from the top to the Freshman Congressman. Money is corrupting out nation.
Unionized Government Worker – This includes everyone from the city level policeman and fireman, to the NEA teacher protesting on the Wisconsin Capital steps, to the SEIU (Service Employees International Union). The government union who wants to protect their big pay positions are ready to go to war. What makes this more painful is that many who were hired to serve and protect have now become pawns of the unions who represent them. Firefighters, Health Care, Police and other agencies who a generation ago were friendly to the population, have now become an agency of suppression by the statists. Follow the money. It controls them. If they have the wrong motives, they will succumb to the control of the statists and become the SS of the days to come. They represent a visible threat. There are many who will reject this and walk away from the statists.. but not enough.
Unions in General – Infused with socialist rhetoric for generations, backing the Democrat party almost exclusively, they have much to lose by a change in the status quo. They will fight to keep things as they think they are.
Government Check Recipients – This is at various levels from Food Stamps to Social Security to Medicare. Such a high proportion of Americans now derive a substantial portion of their income from the Federal government that it is unlikely this parasitic condition can end without killing the host. Even the formerly employed, once on years of unemployment benefits, become trained parasites and an army for the state.
Legacy Media – Conservative journalists are as rare as hen’s teeth. Fortunately, legacy media like the left-wing New York Times are in an economic death spiral because of Internet competition and sagging advertisement rates. However, they have made clear that they will go down with the ship supporting the state regime and progressive causes even at the expense of shareholders. They constitute the propaganda army.
Academia – Follow the money - beholden to government grants, which would substantially dry up as those who produce wealth rebel. That is why there is a constant push to show that only through a degree can people succeed, though higher education is now widely available in many alternate forms (Youtube). The entire Global Warming scam is an indication of how this can work. The worst are people with "college educations" who are ignorant of anything of consequence. Jimmy Kimmel makes constant fun of these people, but they are a danger in that they are still allowed to vote.
Racial minorities - who have self identified themselves as such for political purposes. Public attitudes have changed substantially regarding racial discrimination and laws are resilient enough that racial animus is not what drives the polarization of the races. Instead, it is a purposely implanted victimology that places some minorities in the progressive army. Those who have bothered to stay focused on work and education may indeed side with the side of independence because of cultural factors. There are misleaders who have made a living on keeping these minorities on their heels by crying racism at every turn. While the bulk of these communities have learned who and because of that their influence is reduced, they are still able to rile up the less informed and ignorant with cries of racism at every persevered slight keeping these minorities in bondage to a failed philosophy.
Bankers and related big business – Goldman Sachs and the too-big-to-fail banks have in essence become regulated utilities through the Dodd-Frank bill. They were bailed out by stimulus money and they are bankrupt. Many bankers would be in jail if their Mortgage Backed Securities had been properly valued. They are corporatist, not likely to side with rebels when we stand up. They benefit by supporting the statists who are now their masters.
Alphabet Agencies (FBI, BATF, FDA, DOJ, etc.) - The negative efficiencies of most federal agencies is apparent to anyone who deals with them. However, they have a vested interest in perpetuating themselves because their hordes of workers are essentially unemployable in the open market. They are for the most part useless drones, but in the civil war will stand with the statists, because that's who they are.
Career Criminals, Drug users, con artists and murderers, who un-coincidentally vote Democrat by large majorities when given a chance, will join the Army of the Blue Statists. When you are assailed in a parking lot, the odds are that you are being attacked by a Democrat. In that sense, random violence is not random but the priority of one political party to control the other through fear.
Anarchists and Radical Greens – Whenever you see riots at the G-8 Summits, you are looking at the army of anarchists. Un-coincidentally, their politics are all far.left. This is true of pro abortion protesters, homosexual rights protesters, gay marriage enthusiasts. They are radical statists with a cause.
THE REBELLION (The Red State Army) is made up of:
Small Business Owners – Actually, this should be unsubsidized business owners. For those not getting a government subsidy or those regulated next to extinction, there is no choice but to join a revolt against not only higher taxes, but against restrictive regulation. Not all business owners will be in this army. Many smaller businesses are beholden to the government and will try to stay under the radar. They can't and eventually will have to choose. Not all business owners will be in revolt, many are tied into the machine politics of big cities and have Stockholm syndrome.
Independent Contractors – Anyone who is self employed and pays for their own healthcare and retirement will be at the end of their rope as the second Great Depression grinds on. They will have no choice but to revolt against a system that tries to drive them into subservience.
Education Rebels – Those who have seen the negative influence of NEA run schools knows that they have to take their children out of the grand social experiment which turns their children into guinea pigs for progressive causes. Home and private schoolers are among these.
Racial Minorities (Caucasians, Asians, working class blacks and Hispanics) – The racial divide always brought up by progressives is false, but certainly a political divide exists with minorities. Conservative Blacks and Hispanics find welcoming arms amongst the Red state Rebels. Asians have not taken on the same victim status and also will see where their future lies.
Military – Former military members are by and large conservative and have at least a rudimentary knowledge of what their nation should stand for. They are unlikely to join any uprisings against the from a sense of honor and duty at the beginning, but will be a force if pressed.
Small Farms – Made up of people who are instinctively independent, they will buck the tide of subsidies which prop up agribusiness.
Rural communities – Able to survive without as much support as urban areas which are also dominated by the left, the rural contingent actually prefers to survive without outside support.
Libertarians, Tea Party, True Independents – While based on concerns of fiscal problems and the debt, the Tea Party represents a broad swatch of Americans worried about the direction of the country. It is inaccurate to say that this s a militant movement, because it is certainly more law abiding than anarchist. However it is well armed and while extremely slow to provoke (despite its reputation) will certainly fight if cornered.
Gun Owners – Second Amendment advocates are well versed in why they are armed – not only as self protection against criminals but also against the state. This is what evens the odds against the industrialized Blue Army, the Red Army is already well armed.
The Religious – Anyone who has a belief in God knows they are under assault. Slow to anger, a breaking point may be reached when the state attempts to enforce its indifference to the existence of evil. The entrenchment of a faux religious system like Islam (which is actually political) is ignored by the Blue Statists. The Red State Rebels know who the evil is.
I could go further delineating elements of the Blue and Red forces, but it won’t be hard for you to draw their own lines. It is obvious that there really are two groups who are diametrically opposed to each other’s plans and will have no choice but to slug it out for national control. Some is at the voting booth, but lacking that (and there is a chance that may be so) it will become out and out war.
I don't want to see this, I pray to GOD it never happens, but it is on the horizon. It is critical that people I care about are not deceived by forces that would try to recruit you into a side where you do not belong. I invite you, COME JOIN THE REBELLION. We are out to change this nation, and the world for the better.

Career Criminals, Drug users, con artists and murderers, who un-coincidentally vote Democrat by large majorities when given a chance, will join the Army of the Blue Statists. When you are assailed in a parking lot, the odds are that you are being attacked by a Democrat. In that sense, random violence is not random but the priority of one political party to control the other through fear.
Anarchists and Radical Greens – Whenever you see riots at the G-8 Summits, you are looking at the army of anarchists. Un-coincidentally, their politics are all far.left. This is true of pro abortion protesters, homosexual rights protesters, gay marriage enthusiasts. They are radical statists with a cause.
THE REBELLION (The Red State Army) is made up of:
Small Business Owners – Actually, this should be unsubsidized business owners. For those not getting a government subsidy or those regulated next to extinction, there is no choice but to join a revolt against not only higher taxes, but against restrictive regulation. Not all business owners will be in this army. Many smaller businesses are beholden to the government and will try to stay under the radar. They can't and eventually will have to choose. Not all business owners will be in revolt, many are tied into the machine politics of big cities and have Stockholm syndrome.
Independent Contractors – Anyone who is self employed and pays for their own healthcare and retirement will be at the end of their rope as the second Great Depression grinds on. They will have no choice but to revolt against a system that tries to drive them into subservience.
Education Rebels – Those who have seen the negative influence of NEA run schools knows that they have to take their children out of the grand social experiment which turns their children into guinea pigs for progressive causes. Home and private schoolers are among these.
Racial Minorities (Caucasians, Asians, working class blacks and Hispanics) – The racial divide always brought up by progressives is false, but certainly a political divide exists with minorities. Conservative Blacks and Hispanics find welcoming arms amongst the Red state Rebels. Asians have not taken on the same victim status and also will see where their future lies.
Military – Former military members are by and large conservative and have at least a rudimentary knowledge of what their nation should stand for. They are unlikely to join any uprisings against the from a sense of honor and duty at the beginning, but will be a force if pressed.
Small Farms – Made up of people who are instinctively independent, they will buck the tide of subsidies which prop up agribusiness.
Rural communities – Able to survive without as much support as urban areas which are also dominated by the left, the rural contingent actually prefers to survive without outside support.
Libertarians, Tea Party, True Independents – While based on concerns of fiscal problems and the debt, the Tea Party represents a broad swatch of Americans worried about the direction of the country. It is inaccurate to say that this s a militant movement, because it is certainly more law abiding than anarchist. However it is well armed and while extremely slow to provoke (despite its reputation) will certainly fight if cornered.
Gun Owners – Second Amendment advocates are well versed in why they are armed – not only as self protection against criminals but also against the state. This is what evens the odds against the industrialized Blue Army, the Red Army is already well armed.
The Religious – Anyone who has a belief in God knows they are under assault. Slow to anger, a breaking point may be reached when the state attempts to enforce its indifference to the existence of evil. The entrenchment of a faux religious system like Islam (which is actually political) is ignored by the Blue Statists. The Red State Rebels know who the evil is.
I could go further delineating elements of the Blue and Red forces, but it won’t be hard for you to draw their own lines. It is obvious that there really are two groups who are diametrically opposed to each other’s plans and will have no choice but to slug it out for national control. Some is at the voting booth, but lacking that (and there is a chance that may be so) it will become out and out war.
I don't want to see this, I pray to GOD it never happens, but it is on the horizon. It is critical that people I care about are not deceived by forces that would try to recruit you into a side where you do not belong. I invite you, COME JOIN THE REBELLION. We are out to change this nation, and the world for the better.
