Week Away and protesting in Bismarck

We are making the trek to ND to see relation. A highlight is to be part of the Tea Party in Bismarck.

Looking forward to it.

Thursday Night 6-8 on the mall in front of the capital bldg.

Kevin and Tim (both my sons) will be with me.

Gonna be fun.

See you in ONE WEEK. BUH Bye.

Can I save you some time? Before you brag about what an amazing thing this was, consider that one thousand people is not a big deal. Most folk music festivals are 2 - 6 times that. And Rob of SA lies - it is not the biggest protest in ND ever. There were many larger war portests on campuses during the Vietnam period in ND. 'Green' conventions in the state bring at least that many. The average gun show brings what? Couldn't stir all of them up, even? And don't whine about lack of media coverage or blame that on the 'liberal media'. That would be too easy. Here is a formula for a failed protest: Have no clear demands or agenda. If you just get together to whine that you don't like the way your opponants are running things, now that they have taken power from you via elections, that isn't a platform or a demand over which to demonstrate. General malcontent is not either. And for sure and certain failure, have your blue news event on a fun happy good news summer holiday weekend when all anyone wants to hear about is picnics and rock bands and lake fun and fireworks and dogs catching fribees. If you were watching TV on Summer Fun weekend and a protest came on the news, you would switch to another news program for some Summer Fun coverage. That is their 'agenda' when they failed to cover your little event, ad sales, not political leanings. Sorry to burst your balloons before you were even done blowing them up. Silly event. Not that large by protest standards. Not a real protest due to lack of clear demands or intent. Not covered due to timing. That's all. Sorry.
DO truly hope you had a nice time with the boys, though. THAT is what the weekend is about, GOOD news of family and fun, not dreadry carmudgeonly sour grapes.
