The end of Prairie Pollution

If you ever wondered, this article describes exactly what is going to happen to all that Junk that litters the landscape across the great plains.

Skeletons of broken down rusting iron litter the prairie. It's soon time to start a company to take them down, dig up the wire and concrete and grind them back into the scrap metal they always were.

Gene, it'll take one hell of a grinder to chew through the 1 1/2" thick steel. Not only that, once they are abandoned, the safety light on top will go dark making a hazard for airplanes.

P.S. Rumor has it that the new Rugby, ND wind farm has only 25% of its output sold. Therefore, most of the windfarm is idle. Hard to "turn" a profit that way. I would imagine the electric cooperatives do no want to buy the wind power due to its erraticness. It can shut down a whole electrical grid if it runs at full output and the wind suddenly dies.
The one's pushing the windfarm hard in ND are not the consumer, but rather those involved in its construction, from engineering to building. If wind power was such a good deal, they wouldn't need the taxpayer's help with the "joint" venture. Let's name names. Ulteig Engineering, MasTec, Inc. (MYSE: MTZ), Dakota Machine, Inc. The ugly wind farms in Iowa, Ulteig has an office in Cedar Rapids. I'm not against these companies making a profit. I am, however, against them selling the public a bill of goods.
