Is this corruption?

I stepped on my eyeglasses yesterday. Off to Lenscrafters. Nope. In 2006 the optometrists made it impossible to get new lenses if your last exam was more than a year ago. Before this they could duplicate what the lenses were or if as LC had my former records they would replace my lenses. I looked into it and to get the law passed optometrists sent BLANK CHECKS to lawmakers. Is this corruption?

I ran into the same problem. Broke my glasses, went to a big-brand name eyeglass shop, they said they could not repair them, nor could they make a new pair because my prescription "expired." (Found a place on the Internet that made me a new pair without a problem.) I think you are right, it's must be some sort of legal scam!
