a generation of nincompoops

We HAVE raised a generation of nincompoops. I have in the past month run into people from 22-45 who are bright, healthy, able, people (mostly male) but who are terminally lazy, incompetent, coddled nincompoops.
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? The single most merciful thing you could do is to pack the bag of the nincompoop who lives in your house, drive him to the bus station, buy him a ticket to anywhere 400 miles from you, give him a couple hundred bucks and a directory to homeless shelters where ever he is going. Kiss Him Goodbye. Get an unlisted number and tell him firmly not to contact you until he gets his life figured out. It's brutal, but you are abusing this man by not taking this action.

Second-graders who can't tie shoes or zip jackets. Four-year-olds in Pull-Ups diapers. Five-year-olds in strollers. Teens and preteens befuddled by can openers and ice-cube trays. College kids who've never done laundry, taken a bus alone or addressed an envelope.
