My brother died of the complications of type one diabetes at 50 yrs old. Childhood Onset. Diagnosed at 9 yrs. Ron Santo was diagnosed with this disease at the age of 18, and was given a life expectancy of 25 years. He made it to 70. Pretty good and a great career. He will be missed. I hope he is clicking his heels in heaven now.

Legendary Chicago Cubs player and broadcaster Ron Santo died Thursday night in Arizona, WGN-AM 720 reported this morning. He was 70.
