Nepotism is a bane in many Churches. Doesn't work very often. There are a few exceptions. Fewer than we know. God has no grandchildren. Only Children. He also has no GrandProphets, GrandApostles, GrandPastors, GrandEvangelists, GrandTeachers. HE alone give gifts as HE decides. This is a curse on the Body of Christ. The price gets paid. I think a person CAN be the son or daughter of a great church leader, but they must hear their call from the throne of God for themselves. Piggyback means someone is going to fall off.

Financial documents filed Wednesday in the Crystal Cathedral bankruptcy case show generous compensation paid to insiders and family members of founding minister Robert H. Schuller in the year before the Garden Grove-based mega-church filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

I have known of a couple places where it DID work, but only after either the Sr was gone (Joel Osteen) or if a son goes off and establishes his own call and bonifides on his own. THEN he can come back, take over, and really make it work. CBN's Robertson the younger. The worst is for a young man or woman to grow up in the church his or her dad pastored and then take a leadership role. It usually ends up shipwreck. I wish it weren't true. People get hurt.
