Wisdom from 42BC

A nation can survive its fools, and even their ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor – he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation – he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city – he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. - Cicero 42 B.C.

The same is true with the church!

Mar 13:21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
Mar 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

Those Words lead to the answer to the difficult question why the Lord would say:

Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!

Why?
Mat 24:5 For many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ, and will deceive many.

Many will not be ready for the false Christ to come before Jesus returns.

2Th 2:3 Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition, (that Day= Day of The Lord)
2Th 2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.
2Th 2:9 whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved.

Furthermore:

Co 11:13 For such ones are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 Did not even Satan marvelously transform himself into an angel of light?
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.

The A-C could come with the message that he will take everyone away in a blink of an eye after he proclaims the truth about himself around the world...saving all who will receive him..stating that the great tribulation period will start when he removes his church. Would that message deceive pre-trib believers causing some to worship the A-C ?

Mat 24:19 And woe to those who are with child, and to those who give suck in those days!

Why did the Lord say that? He is speaking spiritually. When He returns He wants a virgin bride who did not nurse along the doctrines of the A-C.

2Co 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy. For I have espoused you to one Man, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
