Once upon a time, much of the state of California was a barren desert. And now, thanks to the worst drought in modern American history, much of the state is turning...

What is sad, there is enough rainfall in a year to support a reasonable population and some agriculture IF and it's a BIG if all the water was retained on the land and none shuffled off into the ocean. Plus if all the waste water was held and reused.. there would be no release. This isn't global warming, this is climatic cycles. BUT holding the water ON THE LAND is the critical issue. Means snail darters have to die, means the EPA goes away.. or you can do a reverse Joad (Grapes of Wrath) and head east as the dustbowl that California becomes drives them out. It's a myth that there will be some megasalvation. There is enough water to deal with this.. but you gotta hold it on the land. But that would take brains.. and that's a problem
