It is time to get your spiritual house in order. The music just stopped. We will need to trust God like never before; and how can you call on whom you've not heard; and how can you hear without a preacher; and how can you preach, except you've been sent? Jesus is the only answer!
This could be the trigger for the disaster to come

Why can we be called KKK and if we call them brownshirt NAZIS we get yelled at?
How about we just call it climate change and adapt
Goodluck Jonathan - President of Nigeria 8/23/10
"Yesterday, I described the youths as leaders of
today and tomorrow and read your comments and feedback and a lot of you
complained that you do not feel like leaders because you are not
empowered. I do understand your sentiments and I am working along with
...my cabinet to provide empowerment to all Nigerians by way of imp...roving
and rebuilding infrastructure as well as investing in education and
creatively improving access to credit for the Private Sector so that
jobs will flow. But our youths must know this: no one can empower you
greater than yourself. The truth is that your Creator has already
endowed you with the basics you need to stand and to a large extent, the
choice to stand or fall is up to you. Government under my leadership
will do its part, but there are many things you can do while waiting on
things to improve. If you have access to land you can start a small
farm. The land that produced crops for your ancestors will not deny it
to you. Maybe you do not have access to land but you are educated to
some degree, then realize that a lot of Nigerians do not have access to
education (and we are working to change that) which provides you with a
need which you can fill by starting a tutoring programme to tutor others
and earn a living. Perhaps you don't have land and tutoring skills but
you have neighbours who have young ones that need minding, that is an
opportunity for you to mind their kids. There are several needs in our
society that can be filled with little or no capital other than your
labour and there is dignity in labour. Those you see in your society
living in luxury were not all born with luxury. Many of them including
me farmed, fished, fetched water, tutored lessons and minded kids before
our break came. But if even you do not have these opportunities, I want
to remind you that all youths have one last card. You have your votes.
Use it to elect God fearing leaders with good track records who have
shown by their past that they have the competence to do what is needed
to bring peace and prosperity to your local government, state and
country come 2011. As I said yesterday and still say today, you are the
leaders of today and tomorrow and Nigeria's tomorrow is more dependent
on her youth than on any other class of society. GEJ"

We have nationalized health care. It will work about as well as the DMV-Post Office-IRS-OSHA on steroids. IF you voted for this, you can start beating your head against the wall now. Your life is about to change for the worse.

I work in this industry and can testify to the fact that people with SKILL are really short. Part of it is the economy where workers have gone back to Mexico. Part of it is a school system that is preparing people to do work that isn't there. Part of it is a stigma on blue collar work that shouldn't be there. NOW is the time to learn to weld, wire, do carpentry. Forget the unions, they don't do the job of preparing people. Get to a trade school and you'll make good money doing what needs doing. This will accelerate. Prepare for the day when the economy turns around with vigor. We have to get rid of the amateurs in the capital building and at 1600. It will be 2015 before real leadership can fix this mess. And fix it they will. Be ready. It will be a good time to be alive and working. Get Ready

I like Fred Price, but sometimes you have to call em as you see em. Stossel will be vindicated. Maybe Pastor needs to back it down a few notches.

Reflecting on my earliest exposure to all things Pentecost. In a Lutheran Church in Fargo ND in 1974 I sat in a pew as a disciple of Agnes Sanford came to talk about inner healing. What he said wasn't so new, but the Spirit he carried was. I was stirred with hunger to THIS DAY. What a trip it has been. PASTORS, be careful not to expose your congregation to new, fresh, rich or Holy Ghost teachings. They might grow and even leave you for a while. That would be terrible. Who would replace their precious tithe and mow the grass? Hang on to your sheep, keep them in the barn, don't let them out. I'm sure that's what Jesus meant in the great commission. OK, I'm a little cynical here, but isn't that how many churches function?See More

Why Wind Power is still really really stupid
Many years ago I gave a short course on energy economics at Griffith University (Brisbane, Australia), and to the disgust of my students I insisted that only amateurs believed that wind-power would be able to deliver the goods.
As it happened, I was not completely correct, because although I did not know it, shortly before I gave that course, a manager at one of the largest and most prestigious scientific establishments in the United States, NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), said that: “If the Danes could get 200,000 kilowatts from the wind back in 1908, we should be able to satisfy our present needs.”
My memory is not as good as it once was where trivia is concerned, but apparently the excellent scientists and managers of NASA were thinking in terms of wind supplying about one-half of the electricity requirements of the United States. The problem here of course was that cost did not receive the attention that it deserved. My students in Brisbane suffered from a similar imperfection, because my suggestion that cost should always play some sort of role in dealing with the provision of electricity by alternative technologies, was greeted by the first gutter language that I heard in a university classroom.
