Reflecting on my earliest exposure to all things Pentecost. In a Lutheran Church in Fargo ND in 1974 I sat in a pew as a disciple of Agnes Sanford came to talk about inner healing. What he said wasn't so new, but the Spirit he carried was. I was stirred with hunger to THIS DAY. What a trip it has been. PASTORS, be careful not to expose your congregation to new, fresh, rich or Holy Ghost teachings. They might grow and even leave you for a while. That would be terrible. Who would replace their precious tithe and mow the grass? Hang on to your sheep, keep them in the barn, don't let them out. I'm sure that's what Jesus meant in the great commission. OK, I'm a little cynical here, but isn't that how many churches function?See More

Sheep only go out to graze. They are not sent out to change the goats into sheep. The analogy of sheep to Great Commission can work in that they (the 'sheep" of Christ) who feed on the Word of God recognize that they are also called to "feed" others (those "who are not of this fold") with the saving Gospel.
