The Gospel Tribune is a newspaper I pick up from time to time in Churches I am in. It is targeted toward the religious African American Community. It's pretty Baptist in outlook. BUT, the issue before the election was 100% DEMOCRAT in content. As if the Gospel Tribune is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat Pa...rty. Not a sniff of anyone Republican in the pages. NOT advertising. Editorial. We had honest decent African American conservatives who ran in Chicagoland and they get not a peep of publicity. I know there are parallels in the Suburban Churches where not ONE democrat finds print in the publications that are distributed there. Something is wrong with this picture. "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." Proverbs 29:2. Maybe these newspapers should try turning on the discernment gift and look past the party affiliation.

A reminder on Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin has been in executive level politics for almost 20 years.
Some of Sarah's accomplishments.

In Alaska, Sarah's top priorities included fiscal restraint, limiting the size of government, resource development, education, equitable oil valuation as well as transportation and infrastructure development. Sarah Palin fought for ethics reform and transparency in government.

Sarah Palin has a long record of achievement and experience in public office.Prior her election as Governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council and two terms as the mayor of Wasilla. During her tenure, she reduced property tax levels while increasing services and made Wasilla a business-friendly environment, drawing in new industry.

Under her leadership as Governor, Alaska invested $5 billion in state savings, overhauled education funding and protected Alaska's natural resources. She created Alaska's Petroleum Systems Integrity Office to provide oversight and maintenance of oil and gas equipment, facilities and infrastructure and the Climate Change Subcabinet to prepare a climate change strategy for Alaska.

During Governor Palin's first year in office, three of her administrations major proposed pieces of legislation passed?an overhaul of the state's ethics laws, a competitive process to construct a natural gas pipeline and a restructuring of Alaska's oil valuation formula.

Governor Palin's "business experience" comes with the negotiations and dealings she has had with one of the most powerful industries in the world: the energy industry. This includes the negotiations on what will be the largest private infrastructure project in North American history. Governor Palin has successfully negotiated new tax structures, lease deals and other issues that arise in the Alaska energy industry.
At the end of the day, Governor Palin negotiated billion dollar deals with one of the toughest industries in the world.

Sarah Palin is past chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a multistate government agency that promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas resources while protecting health, safety and the environment. She also served as chair of the National Governors Association (NGA) Natural Resources Committee, which was charged with pursuing legislation to ensure state needs are considered as federal policy is formulated in the areas of agriculture, energy, environmental protection and natural resource management.

Sarah Palin's successful efforts to stop the cronyism and reform the energy business in Alaska were so impressive Kay Cashman, the publisher and executive editor of Petroleum News, wrote the book entitled: "Sarah Takes On Big Oil" .
This is a must read for anyone who wants to understand the leadership Sarah Palin has exhibited in the area of reforming government and industry!!

While Governor Palin has a history of being a reformer and taking on powerful interests for the benefit of ordinary people, Obama's history is that of a tool of special interests, be they unions, trial lawyers, ACORN, or Wall Street.

Who you hang out with matters

This article is Critical when you make friends:

How do we know whom we should connect with? How do we create and maintain healthy relationships?

First, let’s identify what constitutes an unhealthy relationship:

  1. People who constantly bring strife, chaos and stress into your life
  2. People who drain you and can’t seem to make it without you
  3. People who want to remind you of your past
  4. People who want to hold you back and keep you from your destiny
  5. People who don’t honor and respect your salvation and who entice you to sin

We must seek to create and maintain attachments that are healthy for us and bring blessing to us. What type of people do we want to attach with? Who do we want to enter into covenant relationships with? What should we look for in a healthy relationship?

  1. People who celebrate you
  2. People who challenge and motivate you
  3. People who make you better than you are
  4. People who see past your present and see your potential
  5. People who focus on your future, not your past

If you are wondering why the States of California and Illinois are in the tank financially and what makes them so unfriendly to business, you only need to read this article written before the Clinton administration to grasp how systemic the problem is. It's not just taxes, it's permitting, licensing, red tape, slow governmental response and lack of action that strangles the baby in the crib. The only reason so much software is developed there is because they hadn't yet figured out how to license software developers. You can't hang wallpaper without a license in California.

Electric car goes from Munich to Berlin, 372 miles on one charge. That makes it more interesting. the whole hybrid car thing was a foolish move in the USA. One commenter to this story says about hybrid cars when it came up:

"What's the point when their turbo diesels still had better gas mileage
than the over-hyped hybrids the stupid Americans fell for.

Turbo diesel is finally being brought to America's attention at least, although 20 years too late".
