Danger of TV News

My Poppalaw Ben has always been a conservative Republican.  I don't think he has ever voted for any Democrat.

But, he reads a couple newspapers and watches TV news.  No blog no talk radio.

I was surprised to hear him say that he thought the war was wrong.  That Bush shouldn't send men and women to die for a dirtbag of a country.

He doesn't get it.  But, where does he form his opinions?  TV news.

No wonder.  He has been subjected to the Chinese water torture of liberal opinion.  He has succumbed.  We used to call that brainwashing.

But he's 86 years old.  What he believes isn't that critical any more.
I just wish we would understand how the liberal press brainwashes people into believing something without reason or question.

Ben Ben Ben, I hardly Knew YE.

Unless your guy Ben is addled with dementia, I wouldn't think that a survivor of eighty-some-odd years would be influenced by some pretty-boy network newsie. It IS conceivable that, despite the wishes of the right, people do evolve; and often find the error of their ways or the ways of their nations leaders. For hell sake, George Bush is only human. NOt a very good one either.
"Ben, I hardly know ye', but we tread the same path."

You know Gene it might be more in keeping with the Christian religion to respect the opinion of your Father-in-law. You give lip service to Christianity but you don't practice or understand it. Many countries respect their elders and actually try to learn from them... of course you know everything so you have nothing to learn from anyone... I find your mean spirited thinking very disappointing and maybe you need to take a long look in the mirror. I for one have come to the conclusion what Gene believes is what really makes no difference to anyone.

Do you watch TV news? You seem to think it is much more slanted than it really is. Do you really think that people are so stupid that even if it was slanted, they could not see that and make up their own minds?
I suppose it is easier to think that than to think that the massive number of people against this war could have come to that idea independent of the press's influence. Your version makes it a bunch of gullible people rather than a bunch of intelligent informed ethical people who each on their own believe this war is wrong.
