Grieving the Holy Spirit or Blaspheming Him?

I was so grieved in so many ways when I listened to this whole program on Crosstalk USA.  I was driving across Wisconsin hauling Plants back.  There isn't much to listen to except two kinds of Wisconsin music.  Country and Western.

So I tuned into the affiliate of Crosstalk and listen to the program noted above.

If you listen to it you will be walking into a den of thieves saying, "please sirs, rob me of all my faith and trust in God.  Take away the Hope I have.  Rob me of my Love for a loving God."

That is the net effect that this program had on most of those who listened.  I would have called in but I didn't. Cell phones and Wisconsin don't mix. There were only people angry and bitter at believing Christians.  People characterizing people of faith as hucksters and charlatans.

To be clear, there are some goofy things that go on.  I can handle goofy.  Jesus could handle goofy.  His disciples one day came to him and said, Hey, those guys over there aren't like us, they are teaching something goofy, should we go tell them to stop?

Jesus said, he that is not against me is for me:

Then John said, "Teacher, we saw a man using your name to force demons out of a person. He is not one of us. So we told him to stop, because he does not belong to our group." Jesus said, "Don't stop him. Any person that uses my name to do powerful things will not soon say bad things about me. The person that is not against us is with us. I tell you the truth. If a person helps you by giving you a drink of water because you belong to the Christ, then that person will truly get his reward. "If one of these little children believes in me, and another person causes that child to sin, then it will be very bad for that person. It would be better for that person to have a millstone tied around his neck and be drowned in the sea. If your hand makes you sin, cut it off. It is better for you to lose part of your body but have life forever. That is much better than to have two hands and go to hell. In that place the fire never stops. If your foot makes you sin, cut it off. It is better for you to lose part of your body but have life forever. That is much better than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. If your eye makes you sin, take it out. It is better for you to have only one eye but have life forever. That is much better than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell. The worms that eat the people in hell never die. In hell the fire is never stopped. Every person will be punished with fire. "Salt is good. But if the salt loses its salty taste, then you can't make it salty again. So, be full of goodness. And have peace with each other."

Mark 9:38-50 (ERV)

Why do these people make extra efforts to destroy peoples faith in God?   Why are they so confident in the Devil and so faithless toward God?

The one question I would have loved to ask Justin Peters is this:  "Do you believe in Healing?  Have you ever seen or know of anyone who was ever healed by the power of God?  Not doctors.  If so why does healing cause you distress.  If not, why do you believe?"

The cessasionists and anti word of faith police are of the word of doubt and unbelief theology.  I think Jesus had something to say about them too.

God is pleased by a person who has faith (Heb. 11:6).

God will work miracles on behalf of a person who has faith (Matt. 9:22, Luke 18:42).

God limits or even refuses to work in a person's life when that person's faith is weakened by doubt or unbelief (Mark 6:5, James 1:7).

I just don't know how close you can get to the edge until you no longer are just grieving the Holy Spirit and how close you can get until you are in fact Blaspheming?  Blaspheming the Holy Spirit means you account to Satan those things that are God's actions and reject them.

Matt. 12:22-32 says, "Then there was brought to Him a demon-possessed man who was blind and dumb, and He healed him, so that the dumb man spoke and saw. 23And all the multitudes were amazed, and began to say, "This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?" 24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons." 25And knowing their thoughts He said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself shall not stand. 26"And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? 27"And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Consequently they shall be your judges. 28"But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29"Or how can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30"He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. 31"Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. 32"And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come," NASB

This sounds a great deal like what I heard on Crosstalk yesterday.  Assigning miracles of God to the Devil.

This is a one way ticket to Hell.  I would be very careful if I were Crosstalk America, Ingrid Schlueter or Justin Peters.   Our names are written in the Lambs book of Life when we are created.  Only the Devil can cause them to be blotted out on account of our sin.  Except for that one last verse.

whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come," Matt 12:32b

Dangerous ground.  I think it's hard for a Christian to Blaspheme the Holy Ghost.  I think most people who think they have, didn't and haven't.  I do think that people who tread on this ground may not be Christian at all.  They know about Jesus, know even his word and call him by his name but they are of the "I never knew you" category.

This is a call for the hosts of this program to repent.  Hell is very hot and a miserable place to end up because of religious pride.
