A discussion about Obama with a supporter, A nice woman, a Christian. I hope this helps

@ Gene: Beautiful pic of you and your wife. ♥
Thank you. She is

I am lost in your comment. What exactly are you talking about. Are you not a republican or are you not a teabagger?
I don't know if you know the derogatory nature or origin of that term. I don't receive it. I am NOT a teabagger. I am a member of the tea party, a conservative and in a soft way a Republican. Most pigeonhole efforts fail. I won't pigeonhole you if you won't do the same to me. If I were to say "you ____________ are all alike" you would object. As do I.

If you want to really understand my political bent, I am tea party with libertarian sensibilities. This interesting discussion between Ron Paul, Ralph Nader and Judge Napolitaono is much along the lines of my political economic philosophy. I am rabidly anti Corporatist.

I am hopping that you can give us the facts and not media opinion to my questions.
As we talk about this, I'm hoping you will be able to screen the same. I won't accept rehashed DNC, MSNBC, CNN, Huffpo, Daily Kos, operation push or Al Sharpton. You won't have to accept the same from me.

So, what exactly has been done in the past two years that is detrimental.

Financial reform?
YES

Health care reform?
YES

2 trillion dollar gains in corporate America? Stable stock market? From the brink of depression the recession has ended for corporate America? what?.....
the recession has ended for corporate America - Wait, what about you, your family, your kids, your parents. It hasn't ended for them? Stock Market, it's all a house of cards and is about to fall. I commend you to the Word of the Lord I brought in January.

We are on the BRINK OF DEPRESSION. The front not the back. Stable Stock Market...what's that mean to anyone other than a few very wealthy people? There are no jobs, business is in the tank, people can't buy houses or cars both of which I could use. I actually DON'T blame Obama for much of this. He did make it worse. Extending unemployment as long as he did. The buy a house tax credit. Tightening up the Mortgage rules too tight so no one can get a mortgage or refinance, CASH FOR CLUNKERS was a huge mistake. It sent money to Korea and Japan. Buying Out GM and supporting the unions was unthinkably ignorant. These are not clueless opinions. The are observations and YES I do have a deep background in economics.

The Two Trillion dollar gains in corporate America can be easily explained by QE1 and QE2. It's fiat money.

While I don't fault Obama with the situation, I DO fault him for making it worse.

The president lack experience? Deceived?
What experience did he have before. He's never had an executive position. He's never run a business. He's always worked in government or quasi government. AND his advisers that he brought in, particularly at the beginning were exactly like him. NONE of them had ever met a payroll or worked in the economy. All were academics or professional government workers. So they were easily deceived by theory without any understanding. That is the problem. He is getting smarter, but not fast enough. There are people in his life who are not good for the USA.

The president did not come into "office" he came into a CRISIS. The worst economic MESS this generation has seen and managed it extremely well in spite of right wing conservative GOP " Grand Old Party" opposition.
managed it extremely well?? On that we will disagree. I think he has bungled half the stuff he has tried to do. He's not very good at this. But read on.

Gene, this president is among the most regal, poised, intelligent, competent and for the people, presidents we have had in history. Now it's time to bring back what a bit?
NOW THAT is an opinion. Yours. I understand that. BUT, it is subjective and one I disagree with in part. Intelligent? Maybe, but I'm not convinced. Competent, sort of. Getting better but far from where he should be to hold this high office. Regal and Poised? He does that well. That doesn't make him a good president. It's like Jay said to Kay in Men in Black when he put on the suit and sunglasses, "You know the difference between you and me? I make this look GOOD". Lookin good don't make it good.

President Obama's handling of the Tucson situation is not something he learned 3 months ago.
His ability to make a good speech and stay out of the way has always been his long suit. Speaking of things he should have learned, his handling of the BP Oil spill was a pretty bad fumble. I think he did learn how not to fumble the ball then.

It is who the man is and who he has been all along which is why he was elected and consistently sought bipartisanship although he has been and is still rejected.
Obama's idea of bipartisanship is "I tell you what I want an you agree with me". Remember the health care summit? There were several good ideas presented, none of which saw the light of consideration. Remember the business round-table he had where the lady said, "I'm tired of defending you". Several good ideas were brought up and disregarded. Obama sees disagreement as obstructionism. I'm glad there is going to be an effort to reverse some of these damaging things he has done. I hope there will be success. If there isn't there will be a doubling down to get him out of office in 2012.

Republican propaganda paints him as an incompetent villain.
Not a villain. I reject that. Incompetent? Maybe in a Carteresque sort of way. Means well but really doesn't understand the situation.

What is "big government corporate status"? Did you mean "Big Business Corporate Status" because that is the GOP philosophy and who their constituents are; BIG BUSINESS; wealth.
You got this one really really wrong. Look at who big business contributes to. Most of the money in the last presidential election that came from the corporate power went to Obama. No strings? RIGHT.. I said that Obama was in the wrong pocket. Big Business and big money are controlling him. GE, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Bank of Ameirca and George Soros Own Barack Obama. BIG GOVERNMENT CORPORATE STATISTS. They want to shape the government to serve their interests. Not the people. Same with the Big Medicine, Big Pharma, Big Unions. They have him in their pocket. They control him. He does their bidding. So by the way did Bush. If you look at the video with Nader, Paul and Napolitano you see that my objections parallel theirs. And the interventions. Stop already. GM and Chrysler should have gone bankrupt along with the institutions that BushObama cooked up.

The GOP and its constituents desire a small government ineffective government and big privatized business which are power houses of greed and control; such as the health insurance industry.
I wish what you say is true. THE GOP loves big government. So does the Democrat party. And Obama. Look at how he has expanded Government and Spending.

The revolution, Tea Party desires a small less intrusive government and private business with open competition so that the next Microsoft, facebook or google can emerge. Big Insurance exists because big government supports it. The Healthcare bill supports big insurance. EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO BUY INSURANCE. Why don't we mandate that everyone have Life Insurance? Everyone will die. Everyone will have final expenses. Why don't we mandate that every man in America be taught how to handle a gun and be required to carry one. It would protect against nuts like the shooter in Tuscon. Of course you would have to pass some kind of sanity test. AND if you want to see why you can't invest in Facebook today, it's because of government financial interference initiated by Obama and his big reform deal. Look it up. It's in today's Wall Street Journal. No he hasn't done that well. He means well but listens to his puppetmasters too much. The Gun this is of course hyperbole, but it illustrates the mandate insanity.

Our Government is of the people, by the people and for the people which the GOP is against instead supports and protects by any means necessary corporations and the wealthy. Their agenda is tax avoidance, privatizing and controlling the wealth of this nation at the expense/enslavement of the people.
I don't object if you want to pay more taxes or If you want to work for the government. Just don't object if I do my best NOT to do either. The rest of your comment bluntly is over the top. Who really wants to control the wealth that is left in this nation is the government and their corporate sponsors who currently are democrats but were republicans. The whole bunch is crooked. The corporatists and statists are our enemies. The quicker you get that clear the better you will be at understanding why there is so much that is not good in Obama's agenda. Once more I say, he's a decent sort. I think I would like him. But, he is not a great leader. I watched him with Hu from China. Like a whipped puppy. You could join us in trying to help him become a better President as happened with Clinton. He just might. I can hope. But right now...not so much.

Who is out to control you, me, everyone? What is behind all of this that isn't good that we need to see if you say President Obama is a good man?
Once more, he is controlled, directed, counseled and ordered to be and do by people who do not have the best interests of this country at heart. People who are part of a governmental kleptocracy. What can we steal from you? Soros is an evil man. He is very much in the background. What worries me is if Obama gets out of step with Soros, our president will be dead by Christmas, just like they did to Kennedy. He has powerful evil forces influencing him. We only have him to object to, but the controlling puppetmasters behind and beside him are doing him wrong. Many have stepped aside in disrepute. AND the pressure to take control of our nation by edicts, bureaucracies and unelected mandates from the EPA (Cap and Trade lite), Net Neutrality from the FCC essentially controlling the internet and free speech, the Food Safety Bill that was just passed that will hobble our food supply, the DOE restriction on drilling for Oil in the Gulf and other places where there is oil, support of Ethanol controlling him by ADM, The Card Check efforts by the Dept of Labor which will make too powerful unions more powerful. He is controlled by big government, big business, big money and big unions. He might be a good man, but he is a puppet.

For the record, I don't "adore" president Obama; in fact, I don’t know anyone who does. Myself and others have a great deal of respect for him coming into a disastrous office after bush and turning things around in two years. All of this while under a microscope and a litany of unfounded criticism. The man has done more in two years than any president preceding him has done in a full term. One must respect that!!!! Tomorrow...
I don't think he has turned around much. He has made his puppetmasters stronger, there are no jobs, China is pushing us around, real estate is in the tank and dropping while homelessness increases and now ever soup kitchens can't preach the Gospel when they feed the poor thanks to Obama. Look it up. Our debt is massive, more in the last two years than the previous 10. Not Bush debt. Obama. Businesses aren't expanding. States are failing like Illinois and California, Food and Fuel prices going straight up (gee funny we don't hear the left talk about high gas prices now and blaming Obama like the did Bush), and we look like a fool because of Obama in the eyes of the rest of the world. Name me some world leaders who think he is a strong capable president. All this in about two years. Excuse me if I don't bow in adoration.

Lastly, I don't love you any less. I believe you to be badly deceived buying into what the left wing media and the cultural race baiters preach. The Reverends. What you may not know is, I spend most of my time in the community. Mostly I'm one of only a very few white folks in the room. I was there last night on the South Side of Chicago. I will be there again tonight. I'm doing what the Reverends in this city aren't doing. Hands on we are going to see reformation and revival in this city. Deception defeated. If you came to our meeting tonight, you would be among very Christian conservative BLACK FOLKS who will agree with EVERYTHING I just said. That might mess up your paradigm. There will be over a hundred there tonight. This can't continue and the black community in Chicago suffers the MOST because of this deception you share.

We, they, all of us, want him to do well. BUT, he is underqualifed. Hoping he will become a better leader soon.

I remain believing blessing on you, even if you believe in Obama. I'll put my faith elsewhere.

Gene

I'll add to Gene's reply by saying that Obama came in office with a rather "I'm know better than you" arrogant attitude. I was taken back by the way he addressed John McCain in this clip.

He claims that his administration is transparent while we observe that most of the major legislation pasted or discussed in the past 2 years have been done in secret.
Why do most of his czars sympathize with ideas or people who do not like our form of government? A means to an end?

You can present the most logical arguments until your voice becomes hoarse but the left-wing liberals are blinded by Satan to God's truth. I am rocked and horrified when my family quotes back at me all the lies that the liberal media brainwashes them with. I can't get through to them. They are totally blinded by Palin-hatred, just as they were with Bush-hatred. I can only pray daily that God will give them spiritual discernment to see through the left-wing lies and that the Holy Spirit break them out of their spiritual blindness!!!!
