I agree with this completely, particularly number 2- trying to imitate other ministries is the kiss of death. church def. mediocre leaders = mediocre servants = mediocre lives
If you want to do your best, hire people WAY better than you. And then, respect them enough to give them a solid voice you trust.
You cant never fully serve a person (in this case a boss or business) you dont trust, and visa versa. (works in marriage too) This is the #1 reason staff get bored and want to leave. They feel like they have no value. If you dont trust them after youve hired them, youve got nobody to blame but yourself.
Fads wane. So do gimmicks. Neither produce any fruit; they either wilt or die.
It's ok to fail. It's not ok to not at least try. When you screw up, that's ok. Youre just learning how not to do something.
When YOU stop learning, YOU stop leading.
#1 reason for business/church failure: FEAR.
As a boss, if something goes wrong, you can only have one person to blame: yourself. That's why you're the boss. Be accountability. Honest and sincere communication will solve most problems.
Be totally real and totally honest. Character and integrity trump everything, especially in a church.
(You can probably figure out who said all these-pretty popular. And he doesnt work for a church)
