A little esoteric, but an interesting number.

 The Chicago Purchasing Manager's Index, PMI, is a reliable measure of future economic health in the nation. WELL.. if you look at this chart.. it's not great news. Not since the failure of Lehman Bros and the market collapse in 2008 has it been this low. It's blamed on the cold weather (which is about the same as last year this time which see) and the port strike. I don't buy it. Do you?
