Breaking up isn't so hard to do

It's about time.

Colin Powell, John McCain (who's only sane action in the last election was selecting Sarah Palin) have anointed themselves savior and healer of all things republican.

Now we are at the great divide. According the them, if we don't change as a party we will drift off into total obscurity. And, what makes it more interesting is, DEMOCRATS with crocodile tears in their eyes are solemnly advising republicans on how to be more like them.

Well, I'm from Illinois. You may have heard of it. A state owned and operated by something called the Combine. That's a collection of mostly Democrats like our Governor and his mob related associates and some liberal Republicans who vote like and look like democrats but wear the Republican label.

We have darn few real conservatives. A few. Good men and women.

It's that party, that group who wants the Republican party in the USA to look just like them. Including corrupt.

So we have become a two headed monster. The republicans. One is this head of Powell and McCain who are just like democrats except for the label. The other is made up of those who are led by the voices of talk radio, the words of Internet gurus.

So we have become Rush Limbaugh Conservatives versus John McCain republicans.

Not a pretty choice. I have no problem rejecting the John McCain Colin Powell branch of the republican party. I want to embrace the voice of Conservatism as pronounced by Rush Limbaugh. My problem is I still remember the dismembering of the conservative movement during the primary let by talk radio stars. We as conservatives couldn't find common ground. We couldn't get behind a conservative candidate all at one time.

I don't know what the future holds. Perhaps we will drift into oblivion. We will end up with a defacto one party system with some sniping from a vocal but impotent principled minority.

I won't join the rush to mediocrity led by the Powell McCain combine. I've seen where that takes you in Illinois. Let's not take the nation into Illinois Politics. It doesn't work.

I just don't see any alternative, YET.
