I made a comment on the fallacy of MLM "business" yesterday. There are a number of reasons why:

It divides people when what they feel they are promised doesn't come to pass

People in leadership (Pastors) many times use it to persuade their flock into signing up which for a short time enriches them.. at the expense of others. This has destroyed many good churches.

It's not a business and causes people to get a jaundiced view of what business is.

Only a few "Promoters" make money. Yes you hear all about how big money is made.. it's fiction.

People end up buying overpriced, over-promised product that is mostly snake oil.

Only the most gullible and weak are most easily lured into this.

People lose faith in the motivational ideals propounded by promoters... which robs them of the truth of these concepts. They become victims by the side of the road hearts hardened to the truth of the things they heard.

The mixing of Christian theology and hucksterism makes people cynical.

Those who have been suckers in these scams often are repeat offenders... they lurch from one scam to another as prisoners of hope without any chance to succeed.

I don't hate those who are involved in these things, I just feel sorry for them. AND I am warning those I care about. IF you think you want be in business, then find a real business and do that. There are a million ways to make a very good living... MLM is not one of them.
