I
have been slowly moving into an anti GMO anti MONSANTO anti ROUNDUP
mode. SLOWLY. I'm a late adopter. I just walked thru a field of open
pollinated traditional corn.. (non gmo). It's alive. It has insects,
understory, activity. A while back I walked thru a Roundup Ready corn
field. It was dead and sterile at ground level.
Growing up in Dakota we
used to hunt corn fields for Pheasants. There
were able to make a living there because of the understory things to
eat. Not now. If you fenced off a hundred acres of Roundup Ready corn
as clean as they are now and put a dozen Pheasants in there, they would
starve to death. There's nothing there, no insects, no weed seed, no
nothing. Sterile. A food desert. This is not right.
