If you are old enough much of history is current events to you.

I remember when Queen Elizabeth was Crowned. I remember the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK. I remember the day the Music died (Buddy Holly crash in Iowa). I remember Stevenson running against Ike in 52. I remember when the Dow was 800. I remember Gasoline at 27 cents. I remember life for my grandmother in South Dakota without running water or electricity (and they lived). AND I Remember watching the moon landing 45 years ago on our new 13" Philco Ford B&W TV. It was a big deal. One other benefit of age is remembering that what goes around comes around. That politics, economics, culture and world affairs are cyclical. That all this will pass... and you will look back and remember
