Breakout = Breakthrough at Lord of Life

I wish you could have been in Church with us Sunday.  It was magnificent.  We experienced the presence of God in ways that are new, fresh and unusual in that place.

It's not due to any one thing.  It's due to hunger.  It's due to discontent.  It's due to challenge.  It's due to the new thing God is doing among us.

I think it was essential that things changed as they have.  It was painful.  We still are trying to recover.  We will.  What we have to do now is guard against the potential to be dragged into the water and drown by the Gators of the past who want to kill this move of God.

The gators aren't bad people, they are people who are well meaning who don't understand what it looks like when the Spirit of God is released in worship and the proclamation of the Word of God.   They believe they are ordained of God to bring balance.

Unfortunately Balance looks like:

Faith balanced with Unbelief
Hope balanced with Realism
Joy balanced with Restraint
Passion balanced with Stoicism
Hunger balanced with Spiritual Nibbling

And you can create your own balances. I can hear the old gators saying, don't go too far, don't get too excited, don't let it loose too far, we have to stay in control.

Where is it written that we are to be controlled in our worship of God??  Did Mary of Bethany control herself?

The gators criticized her too.

So, to those of you from Lord of Life who read this blog.  Let's get out of balance on fire for God.  He has great things planned for us.  He hasn't told me what they are.  I just know he does.

This is a new precious day we have to live out.  Let's experience heaven on earth right here on this side of the veil.

Who knows what will happen when believers are set on fire and worship God without fear or restraint,  I'm hoping it will scare people, I'm hoping in fact it will scare the gators away.

This is a new day in God for Lord of Life.  Let's enjoy it and take back all the territory the Devil stole from us.

When we burn with passion for Jesus others will jump in the fire with us.  What a glorious sight that will be.   Let's go for it.  We have nothing to lose but our fears.
