China is in many ways the USA in 1895

I wasn't there despite my age. But I have been listening to and watching the reports about the aftermath of the Earthquake.

The response of the central government and the nobility of the people reminds me of what I imagine the USA was like during the turn of the last century.

I have admiration, not for all of what China is, but for it's noble people.

It gives me hope.
