Worse, I have Catholic friends and relatives who really would like to see the church change to fit their current beliefs RE:

Women Priests

and a dozen other democratic moderations of uncomfortable (to them) doctrines of the Church. The church mentioned by Jesus in Revelations at Laodoceia was a democratically governed bunch. It ended up lukewarm and vomited out.
I’m not Catholic. In fact I’m far from it. But I respect values centered righteousness. I may not agree with some of the doctrine of the church but I don’t have to. I’m not a member. I do think this Pope was one of the great ones. We will not see his like for a long time to come.
I have some sound advice for those who don’t believe in the doctrine of the Catholic Church; Who want to change it to fit "todays standards", Who thru tradition or some other reason still attend and call themselves Catholic. GET OUT!
You don’t have to belong. The Church didn’t leave you, you left it (at least in belief). It hasn’t changed. You have. You moved. She didn't.
SO LEAVE. There’s no rule you have to stay. Start your own church.
Buy a few Deepok Chopra books, get some crystals, worship at the altar of Oprah and call yourself spiritual. At least you’ll be honest about who you are.
Let the Church be what it has been for centuries without you. You’ll both be better off. This isn’t a democracy, it never has been and God forbid it ever is.
God Bless Pope John Paul II the GREAT. Rest in peace.
