I'm not saying Wal Mart is a Cancer, It just acts that way...Take a look.
Maybe it has more to do with the Simon and Garfunkle Song, Sounds of Silence.

I am trying to reach out to communicate with you before the silence between you and me grows to such a large proportion that it kills all relationship between you and me, but my efforts are falling on deaf ears.

to the neon God they made
neon gods: commercialism. Neon signs: sign hanging outside stores, bars, motels etc... People are succumbing to materialism and ignoring the spiritual side of life.
And the sign flash out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the signs said "The words of the prophets are written the subway walls and tenement halls"
All this took place and no one said anything.... Silence like a Cancer and it grew.
