From a Friend's blog:
This week, I was out walking my dogs and suddenly remembered a dream I had about 25 years ago....it had been tucked away all these years:
In the dream, a woman of great beauty, wealth, and prestige was being courted by a powerful Moslem man—she fell in love with him and he asked her to marry him. She accepted his proposal. After he had won her, he told her there was something cultural and religious with him that she needed to do for him before they could be married.
He told her he wanted her to have female circumcision—he did not explain the outcome of this genital mutilation. For those of you who do not know, female circumcision is a barbaric, demonic practice in parts of the Moslem world. Girls have forced ritual surgery without any painkiller performed on their private parts that renders them unable to enjoy pleasure in the marriage bed. It is a practice growing out of the belief that women are evil and inferior to men and subjects them to total domination by men. In some areas their female parts are sewn together after mutilation so their body will be torn apart when they are married.
The beautiful woman in the dream was blinded by her fiance's charm and her love for him—she agreed to the surgery, bent on accommodating his faith.
