When you know who someone is no rumor holds water
When I heard the rumor regarding divorce of Sarah Palin and Todd I didn't give it a second thought.
I don't know Sarah. I wish i did. But, I know who she is.
So I wasn't distracted by all this.
Seems like those who don't know who she is might have been.
Foolishness.

The Ten Commandments According to Obama
© 2009 The Patriot Update. Feel free to circulate this article, but please link / give credit to The Patriot Update.
After observing Obama on the campaign trail and during his first six months in office, we have concluded that our President lives and governs according to his own set of “Ten Commandments.” They’re certainly NOT the Ten Commandments you learned in Sunday School. In fact, many are the direct opposite! To prove that our conclusions are correct, you will find a link to source documentation for each commandment on the Patriot Update web site.
I. Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.) SOURCE
II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, unless it is my face carved on Mt. Rushmore. SOURCE
III. Thou shalt not utter my middle name in vain (or in public). Only I can say Barack Hussein Obama. SOURCE
IV. Remember tax day, April 15th, to keep it holy. SOURCE
V. Honour thy father and thy mother until they are too old and sick to care for. They will cost our public-funded health-care system too much money. SOURCE
VI. Thou shalt not kill, unless you have an unwanted, unborn baby. For it would be an abomination to punish your daughter with a baby. SOURCE
VII. Thou shalt not commit adultery if you are conservative or a Republican. Liberals and Democrats are hereby forgiven for all of their infidelity and immorality, but the careers of conservatives will be forever destroyed. SOURCE
VIII. Thou shalt not steal, until you've been elected to public office. Only then is it acceptable to take money from hard-working, successful citizens and give it to those who do not work, illegal immigrants, or those who do not have the motivation to better their own lives. SOURCE
IX. Thou shalt not discriminate against thy neighbor unless they are conservative, Caucasian, or Christian. SOURCE
X. Thou shalt not covet because it is simply unnecessary. I will place such a heavy tax burden on those that have achieved the American Dream that, by the end of my term as President, nobody will have any wealth or material goods left for you to covet. SOURCE

The Plot Thickens
This chart published by the Obama File attempts to clarify the differences between a citizen, a native-born citizen, and a natural-born citizen.
His site explained: "Obama is not a 'natural born citizen' because his father was a Kenyan national and a British subject. To be a natural born citizen, a person's parents must BOTH be citizens of the United States of America. Further, that person must be born in the United States."
Parker Shannon of the Obama File highlighted excerpts from the 1st U.S. Congress in his effort to demonstrate a natural born citizen must be the child of two U.S. citizens. |
Truth can be so Persistant
Why this persists is beyond me, UNLESS, there is some truth to it all. I don't keep beating this horse to death. Many others do.
The disdain with which BHO's surrounders dismiss this makes it even MORE suspect. Why?
Then you get a story like this. All of the Birth Certificates of all of the people who were born on in the same week in the same hospital are available on microfilm right now. BHO's is numbered differently in the certificate of live birth we have been presented. Like it was Made Up. Perhaps it was.
Why isn't the actual copy from microfilm available to the public? With the name of the attending Physician. I have a copy of who the attending Physician was when I was born and I'm MUCH older than BHO.
It's on microfilm.
So, let's see, if BHO's actual certificate is "Missing", if it's numbered Differently. Isn't there some legitimate reason to question this whole thing? I wonder.
The longer this drip drip drip's on, the more suspect it gets. Why doesn't BHO just come clean on this?
UNLESS - There's some persistent truth that will cause all the cards in his house to fall.

The Health Care Bill is dead, I'm sort of in Mourning
One thing is certain, an ugly underbelly has shown itself in this conversation. An ugly underbelly of conservatives. I am a conservative but I reject the self righteousness of the insured conservative that assumes everyone else is JUST LIKE THEM.
They aren't.
So, I am not happy that we are going to leave this whole mess as it is. There must be some way short of full on nationalization of our health care industry to correct the misdirection that exists.
We have rationing now. Insurance companies do it.
We have government health care now, Medicare and Medicaid, They are bankrupt.
We have the best most unaffordable health care on the planet. Thousand dollar gasoline makes a BMW useless. That's what we have right now. Useless except to those with money or big time insurance.
I have a solution. I wish I could offer it to someone who could make a difference. There appears to be some wise people who have solutions. Judd Gregg, Bob Bennett and Ron Wyden have teamed up to support a pretty effective solution.
I wish the politics would stop. I wish the Marxist solutions that Obama offered could be taken off the table. I wish Nancy Pelosi was an honest broker. I wish Harry Reid was a real leader. I wish most of the Republicans in the House and Senate didn't have their heads so firmly implanted in the sand. I wish the fair and honest voices who really want to solve problems, could.
This isn't a good thing. The big talkers on radio like Rush, Sean, Mark and others who keep saying that people are happy with things as they are (they aren't) and that there aren't really very many uninsured who want to be (a lie).
I wish they would start telling the truth. Like Sarah Palin said.
I hope she becomes a voice of sanity. We sure need it.

The Gospel in a Cup
The primary aim of every church service - the prayer meeting, the Bible study, the young people’s meetings, the choir practice and the communion service - should be evangelistic. Why shouldn’t every service be for outsiders? Especially at communion, when the emblems of bread and wine are taken, make sure the church is full of the godless. That cup of red wine is the greatest preacher in the world. It is the Gospel in a cup; an opportunity to invite lost sinners to accept the sacrifice of the Cross. Some churches exclude outsiders. What a lost opportunity! The precious blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Is it only the clean who should come to the fountain?
If a church has tried and failed in its attempts at evangelism, it is time for a serious evaluation of its efforts. Evangelism demands the most intensive thinking. The finance committee’s job is soul saving, not money-saving. Any surplus funds should go into the true business of the church - saving the world.
This is Reinhard writing, and I am an evangelist. Am I overemphasizing? What would you say?
THIS IS GENE WRITING:
The position Reinhard has is more and more the pentecostal potion on communion. Over time I have watched the position morph into what looks like a Traditional Lutheran or Reformed position. Real Presence, not transubstantiation, but presence and the power to cleanse of sin. Reinhard defines it well. Isn't it interesting.
I don't know if this works.
But, if you are on facebook and perhaps if you are not, you may be able to subscribe to Reinhard Bonnke's feed. It's wonderful and so rich. He's a modern day Smith Wigglesworth.
Go here and bookmark or do whatever it takes to get it. You will be fed.

Stupid Windpower Plan fails to Deliver - color me SHOCKED....SHOCKED!!
Germany is phasing out nuclear power plants before the end of their useful lives, building more coal electric plants, and will make Germans pay thru the nose for expensive offshore wind electric power.
It was the revival of Kohl’s center-right Christian Democratic Union party under Chancellor Angela Merkel that delivered the concessions needed to kick-start the offshore-wind industry. In 2006 Merkel’s government—a coalition that also included the Social Democrats and the Christian Social Union—made power-grid operators responsible for running cables to offshore farms. That shaved about one-fifth off the average cost of a project. And last year Merkel improved the revenue side of the ledger, boosting the offshore tariff to 0.15/kWh (US $0.21/kWh).
The German government had to increase the payment to offshore wind operators in order to get enough investors to put up money to build offshore wind farms. Opposition to closer offshore facilities forced the wind farms into deeper water which drove up costs.
To put that 21 cents per kwh producers price in perspective at the time of this writing Americans on average are paying residential retail prices at 11.28 cents per kwh on average. The 21 cents per kwh that grid operators will pay will get marked up to higher residential retails prices to pay for distribution and billing costs.
But that cost number for wind electric is even worse than that. Wind is not dispatchable power. You can't order it up when you want it in response to demand spikes. You get it when the wind blows and you don't get it when the air is still. Electric power generators that can ramp up in response to demand spikes normally gets sold for a higher price than baseload power (like a nuclear power plant that runs all the time). But baseload power is at least there when the demand is greatest just like it is there when demand is least. By contrast, wind isn't as reliable as baseload power. So that 21 cents per kwh wholesale for an undependable power source is a really high price to pay.

You have to see this video ---
Barack Obama's Mother worked for Timothy Geithner's father.
If you love the Bilderburger-CFR-Illuminati conspiracy theories, you'll love this:
Peter F. Geithner, Treasury Secretary Geithner's father, worked for the Ford Foundation.
No surprise here though, really. Obama and family are highly connected to the East Coast banking crime syndicate (Rockefellers, Soros, Ford Foundation etc.). In other words, Obama and family are highly connected to (Council on Foreign Relations) CFR banking family members, or better known as the Federal Reserve conglomerate.
The fairy-tale story that Obama delivered during the Democratic National Convention (the one with the Greek columns and the fireworks) about his mother living on food stamps was most probably just another little white lie that he told to the American people. Why? Stanley Ann Dunham was professionally connected to Tim Geithner's father, Peter. Please read this excerpt from the Economic Policy Journal:
"Who is Timothy Geithner?
Morgan Reynolds, who served as chief economist for the US Department of Labor during 2001–2, George W. Bush's first term, has done a little fact checking on the new Treasury Secretary:
Who is Geithner? He is a creature of the eastern banking establishment and ruling class through and through. His résumé nicely matches his actions in handing out government money and guarantees to the "right people." Geithner’s father Peter is director of the Asia program at the Ford Foundation, a New World Order operation. Peter Geithner oversaw the "microfinance" programs developed in Indonesia by Ann Dunham-Soetoro, Barack Obama’s mother. Geithner’s maternal grandfather, Charles F. Moore, was an adviser to President Eisenhower and vice president of Ford Motor Company, according to Wikipedia. Geithner’s wife Carole Marie, like Geithner a 1983 graduate of Dartmouth College (Ivy League), is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sonnenfeld of Princeton, N.J., a professor of French and comparative literature at Princeton University (Ivy League) for 27 years."
Thus, Obama and Tim Geithner most probably were childhood friends. Remember Tony Rezko? Obama used Rezko to launder about $100 million of taxpayer dollars while Obama was still a State Senator. Geithner is Obama's right hand in accessing the Tony Rezkos (people like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates) of the national level for Obama and the Democrats while he's President. That's why that with all this trouble about AIG, Obama is still not going to get rid of Geithner. Geithner is a valuable tool for them to rob this country through its national policies.
Peter Geithner (Tim's Father) was director of the Asia program at the Ford Foundation, a New World Order (NWO) operation. Peter Geithner oversaw the "microfinance" programs developed in Indonesia by Ann Dunham-Soetoro, Barack Obama’s mother.
Note: As many of you may already know, the Clintons also have strong ties to the Indonesia Microfinance program. They have been to Indonesia several times to "take care of their business". It is the hub of the New World Order micro-finance scheme. The same scheme that was adopted by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to trigger the collapse of the housing market. It was first instantiated by Carter (a NWO puppet), and then made increasingly effective by Clinton (another NWO puppet) by removing almost all restrictions. The Ford Foundation are partners with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Did you know that when Son of Stanley was going to school in Los Angeles, he went with a Pakistani friend to visit his mother in Indonesia, who was working for Peter Geithner at that time. After this, he spent a couple weeks in Pakistan, before he abruptly transferred to Columbia in New York where Peter Geithner was headquartered
A little more about Peter Geithner and his ties to known NWO operations:
Peter F. Geithner is an advisor to the Asia Center at Harvard University and a consultant to the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium, Rockefeller Foundation, Sasakawa Peace Foundation, and other organizations. He serves on the boards of the National Committee on United States-China Relations, the China Center for Economic Research (Peking University), the Center for the Advanced Study of India (University of Pennsylvania), Clemente (Holdings) Asia, Inc., and the Institute of Current World Affairs.
Peter Geithner's obviously rather unconventional style, gives him a lot in common with Stanley Ann, considered to be a pioneer in the field of anthropological microfinance for underprivileged Asian women. Though from far different backgrounds, both parents afforded their sons with globe-trotting, exotic childhoods, culminating in Peter’s Son playing Robin to Stanley Ann’s OBatMan. Small world, huh?
According to The Atlantic, young Timmy Giethner's experiences at Dear Old Dad’s knee in Asia, even in China during the Tiananmen Square uprising, greatly influenced his life choices:
"First, his Asia background. Geithner’s father, Peter Geithner, was a development specialist who opened the Ford Foundation’s China office - the first foreign NGO here, under a special agreement that continues to this day. That was just before Tiananmen Square, and the father was part of the Foundation’s difficult but, ultimately, undoubtedly correct decision to remain engaged. Tim apparently also studied Chinese, was posted in Tokyo for Treasury, and focused on Asia studies as undergraduate and graduate student. This is all great background for Treasury’s international dealings in the coming years."
Now you can see why China is lending us all this money for Socialist/Marxist agendas? China knows that if the US is to become Socialist/Marxist, our country will no longer lead the world in innovation and technology. China has their own plans for world "hemogany". In fact, Chinese leaders know that Communism doesn't work, and this is why they have adopted a simulation model of Western government through their "Strategic Moderization Objective".
There is also a solid link between the Islamic Banking Cooperative, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, The Ford Foundation, Devron Bank of Chicago and the Bank of Indonesia (Stanley A. Dunham was a research coordinator at this bank and a program officer for the Ford Foundation).
Devron began selling Islamic home refinancing products for Muslims to Freddie Mac (see below).
CHICAGOLAND, ILLINOIS – Devon Bank today announced it would begin selling its Islamic home financing products to Freddie Mac, effectively expanding opportunities for Muslims living in Illinois and nine other states to become homeowners while observing traditional Islamic restrictions on paying interest on mortgages and other types of debt. Based in McLean,One of these things is NOT like the other
Juan A. de Hoyos, a naturalized U.S. citizen living in Texas, wanted to cross the Rio Grande to see some family members.
On June 1, it became mandatory to have a passport to travel to Mexico. When he submitted his application, he included the only document he had that resembled the required birth certificate – a Texas birth card or birth abstract, a document he describes as looking "almost identical to the one President Obama posted on that website."
But while that certification of live birth was enough to qualify Obama for the White House, de Hoyos can't believe the only birth document he has won't qualify him to get a U.S. passport.
This doesn't sit well with de Hoyos – and many other Americans in similar situations being forced to produce exactly the right paperwork for routine matters while they see the president getting a pass on a constitutional requirement to be eligible for the highest office in the land.
"I merely want to be able to cross a bridge to go see my family, and I am being told that my 'abstract of birth' is not sufficient," said de Hoyos. "Barack Obama has asked the American people to accept this same type of document to become the leader of the free world!"
Obama's birth certificate is not the only document at issue. Among the documentation not yet available for Obama includes his kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.
Some Americans were shocked to learn last week that the certification of live birth Obama has claimed is his "birth certificate" is not acceptable to obtain a passport because it does not contain sufficient detail about the birth, such as time and location.
That revelation has brought little comfort to de Hoyos, who has 90 days to turn in the required documentation or have his application for a passport denied.
While he will do his best to try to locate a long-form birth certificate in his country of origin, he wonders why the American people don't require Obama to produce one to remain in office.
"No man, no matter how popular he may be, should be allowed to blatantly disregard the provisions of the Constitution," says de Hoyos. "If we lose the Constitution, we lose America."
WND has reported on dozens of legal challenges to Obama's status as a "natural born citizen." The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."
Some of the lawsuits question whether he was actually born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama's American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.
Other challenges have focused on Obama's citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.
Complicating the situation is Obama's decision to spend sums estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid releasing a state birth certificate that would put to rest all of the questions.
A key to the defenses presented by Obama supporters always has been the "Certification of Live Birth:"
Short-form "Certification of Live Birth" |
The document contrasts with an actual Hawaii birth certificate from 1963 (the same era as Obama's birth), which while redacted includes detailed information documenting a birth, including the name of the birth hospital and the attending physician.
Long-form birth certificate from state of Hawaii (Image courtesy Philip Berg) |
To date, Obama has not revealed his original long-form, hospital-generated "Certificate of Live Birth" that includes details such as the name of the medical facility and the doctor who delivered him.
BHO calls Mass - a fly on the wall blow by blow - Funny Stuff
(The following is not substantiated. It is simply the as yet unverified report of Freddy, a fly on the wall in the Oval Office who has not yet been swatted and smushed by Obama. Freddy, fortunately, kept detailed notes on the president’s phone call to Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge, MA police force. BHO=Obama, SGT=Crowley.)
BHO: Hey, Jimmy-boy. How ya doin’?
SGT: Who is this?
BHO: It’s your president, stu . . . umm, Sergeant!
SGT: The PBA president? You don’t sound like him.
BHO: No, no, no, it’s Barack Obama!
SGT: Oh. Who put you through to me and how did you get my number, anyway? It’s unlisted.
BHO: (Laughs) We have our ways, Jim. We have our ways. (Laughs again)
SGT: Whatever. What’s on your mind, Mr. President, why are you calling me?
BHO: Well, to explain things, Jimbo. I didn’t want you to get the wrong impression from what I said the other night . . . I didn’t want you to think I was calling you stupid. . . .
SGT: First, sir, please don’t call me Jimbo. Even my mom doesn’t call me Jimbo. But who then were you calling stupid? The whole Cambridge police force? And in front of a national audience on tv?
BHO: No problemo, Jim, don’t be so hot-headed . . .
SGT: Please call me sergeant, Mr. President. I worked hard to get this rank.
BHO: Umm, yeah, right, Senator Boxer said something like that to a general a while back.
SGT: I wouldn’t know. I don’t follow politics much.
BHO: Okay, I hear ya sergeant. I guess ya didn’t vote for me either? (Laughs)
SGT: Why would you say that, sir?
BHO: Well, as I said, we have our ways . . . of finding out stuff. Gibbsie told me most cops didn’t, that is, except for black cops. And you’re not black, right?
SGT: No sir.
BHO: Well, I guess you didn’t vote for me.
SGT: No comment. But, Mr. President, I’m sure you’re a busy man and I have a tee time in an hour. I hate to rush you . . .
BHO: Gotcha, sergeant, I won’t keep you long but I’m not really very busy.
SGT: Thank you, sir.
(Long pause)
SGT: Sir?
BHO: Yup?
SGT: Why did you call me? I think I heard you loud and clear on national television.
BHO: Well, we can’t always believe what we hear, sarge . . .
SGT: Please call me sergeant.
BHO: Yeah, right . . . Well, I called to set things straight. You do know the Black Congressional Caucus is supporting me and what I said at the health care news conference?
SGT: Yes, and so is Al Sharpton. So?
BHO: Well, I was just trying to show you that things aren’t always so black and white, ya know? I wanna be the president of all the people and I don’t want any hard feelings over all this. You know what I’m saying?
SGT: I do, sir. I’m not that stupid. May I speak frankly?
BHO: Sure, sergeant! I always want transparency and frank talk gets that done.
SGT: Thank you. Well, I just don’t understand you. Leon, that’s Sgt. Leon Lashley, a black guy, by the way, was on the scene when this thing with Professor Gates occurred and he fully corroborates my account of what happened. I just don’t get why you jumped the gun and ripped me and my department when you admitted you didn’t know all the facts and furthermore what you said seemed to have racial overtones since I’m white and the professor is black. It made it seem that it was racial for me to enforce the law . . .
BHO: Whoa! Now you sound like one angry man, sergeant!
SGT: No, I’m not angry. I’m pissed that the president of the United States would go off half-cocked on a local matter you knew nothing about! After all, is that presidential?
BHO: Now, you excuse me, sergeant, please don’t question my presidentiality. Professor Gates is a friend of mine . . .
SGT: Is that even a word, sir?
BHO: What?
SGT: Presidentiality?
BHO: Oh, I dunno. But it is now! (Laughs then another pause)
SGT: Sergeant Lashly is a friend of mine and he backs me up. He was there. You weren’t!
BHO: Now, Sergeant Crowley, you’re being impertinent toward your president! My point was that I know Professor Gates and have known him for a long time and you don’t know him.
SGT: And you, sir, don’t know Sgt. Lashley, or me for that matter. Besides, I do know Gates. I was very up close and personal when he acted as if I was the suspect in a criminal investigation and carried on like he flipped his lid simply because I was doing my job. He ranted, yelled, refused to cooperate and ID himself. Maybe he just acts differently in front of you, you know, in front of his own.
BHO: “In front of his own?”
SGT: Nevermind. I guess we’d better not go there. All I’m saying is that I was acting on a report that two black men were breaking into a residence owned by Harvard and Sgt. Lashley and other cops later witnessed Gates in action, in his abusive tirade. I had no choice but to arrest him for disorderly conduct. He was acting grossly disorderly.
BHO: Well, I have to admit I wasn’t expecting this reaction when I called. I expected some deference, some agreement, some sense of reason so we could reach what I like to call common ground and all I met was resistance. In any event, I’m still offering my hand in friendship. I hope you will join me and Professor Gates in quaffing a beer in the White House.
SGT: Thanks but no thanks, Mr. President. Quaff that brew with the professor and the Reverend Sharpton. You may want to discuss why race relations have gone down the toilet since you adopted your “presidentiality.” I’d rather share a beer with real people, like Sgt. Lashley.
BHO: You’re refusing my invite?
SGT: Stuff your invite until I get an apology, Mr. President!
BHO: (Click, then Obama’s muffled voice saying, “Make sure the IRS audits that prick’s ass into bankruptcy!”)

HEY RUSH, SEAN, MARK and GLEN, How about getting behind something constructive for a change?
From a report I heard today:
What would you say about a health overhaul bill that promises to provide health insurance to virtually every American, to add not a single penny to the federal deficit and to claim supporters ranging from conservative Republican Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire to liberal Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan?
On Capitol Hill, they’re saying it doesn’t have a chance.
That’s the dilemma faced by Sens. Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Bob Bennett (R-UT), sponsors of the so-called Healthy Americans Act.
Roundly Ignored
Despite being the darling of health policy bloggers and the first bill to be certified by the Congressional Budget Office as covering nearly everyone and fully paying for itself, the measure is being roundly ignored by those actually trying to put together a health overhaul measure on Capitol Hill and in the White House.
That’s frustrating for its sponsors, who spent years refining its finer points.
The concept is fairly simple. The plan would change the tax treatment of health insurance provided by employers in a way that would likely prompt many, if not most, to stop offering coverage. That appeals to Republicans, who say the current tax-free status of employer-provided insurance is unfair and encourages overuse of the health care system.
Of course this doesn’t allow Obama to take over his next industry so it is getting no traction. But it’s a good start and if our conservative Chattering Class would get behind this JUST MAYBE we could save this country from an almost inevitable destruction of our health care system. Hey Rush, Sean, Mark and Glen, how about getting behind something instead of just being against things. HUH?
I’m not hopeful, too much tunnel vision by the big talkers.
Dem's 58 - Repubs 0 Who will Win?
But, wait, Offensive Coordinater Rush says, we can win this thing. Coach Levin says, don’t forget the basics. Defensive Coordinator Steel says to Assistant Coach Hannity, let’s not lose our focus.
The clock ticks. The crowd roars.
The ball is snapped.
How do you think this game will end??
And that’s why today I am ashamed to be a Republican. We NEVER even got in the game. We never took part. The other team ran right over the top of us and we harped about it all to the reporter on the sidelines. Waaaaa
It’s over boys and girls. The game has been lost.
There were more important bowl games we could have played in where we might have won. Seems like we did OK with Cap and Trade. That minimum wage bowl was a loss. Stimulus bowl was a blowout and we got stomped.
So we lose and lose and lose. Not much of a team. Lousy coaches.
Just like the Cubbies. wait’ll next year. (election)
It’s just me and I’m no sports expert but just MAYBE we should start looking for new coaches. MAYBE we should start betting on the Jockey and not on the horses. Worked in the Triple Crown this year. We have no clear thinking leaders.
We have the primrose path laid out by the coaches. I’m not so sure I want to go down that one any more. It’s just lose lose lose. Not a great record.
So, now when you take your kid into Obamaclinc and they give him Nyquil for whooping cough and send you home (but it was free) think about who you will blame. Don’t blame Obama. He won.
It is the team that lost and the coaches therewith that I blame. The other side won and we lost. We are such doofuses.
Sometimes Republicans and many conservatives are absolutely tone deaf in the public forum.
Harrumph.
Anyone who thinks David Brooks is a Conservative or even a Republican in the traditional sense must read this.... He's not!
By P.J. Gladnick
Almost every week at the New York Times, house "conservative" David Brooks and liberal columnist Gail Collins have a public conversation. This week Brooks made a startling admission in The Conversation which really wasn't so surprising when one actually reads his columns. Here is the money quote:
At the moment, I feel politically closer to Barack Obama than to House Minority Leader John Boehner (and that’s even while being greatly exercised about the current health care bills).
Wow! So how could anybody who calls himself conservative feel politically closer to Obama who is trying to ram big spending government programs through Congress than to Boehner who is trying to stop those programs? Simple. by being a pretend conservative known as a New York Times house conservative. This would mean that even David Gergen would qualify in that category.
In the process of making the admission of affinity with Obama, Brooks unwinds and gives us some psychological and political insight into the inner David:
Gail, you made a reference in last week’s conversation that caught me up short. You said something about how badly my guys, the Republicans, have been behaving during this whole health care thing.
It made me wonder, are they really my guys? Do I have guys anymore?
Does the Republican senator who had his hand on your inner thigh count as "your guy," David? But I digress:
Certainly in childhood I felt a strong affinity for the Democrats. Everybody I knew was one. The Democrats were obviously forces for justice and morality. Then sometime in adulthood I did come to naturally assume that the Republicans were the vehicles for the things I thought were best.
But you never know the workings of your own mind until you get an unexpected cold blast from somewhere deep inside. The thought that I’m part of the G.O.P.’s fan base sent such a blast, though it’s complicated.
David Brooks makes himself sound like a political ping pong ball, conveniently moving with the the prevalent social breeze. And now comes his money quote:
At the moment, I feel politically closer to Barack Obama than to House Minority Leader John Boehner (and that’s even while being greatly exercised about the current health care bills). On the other hand, I feel politically closer to Lindsey Graham than to Henry Waxman.
The latter actually does make some sense. I mean who would want the hand of Henry Waxman to rest on his inner thigh?
Brooks continues to apologize for even seeming like a conservative as he unravels from the doctor's couch:
I could draw a sort of hot and cold chart, with various people in my inner rings. In the Senate, I’d somehow cram Lamar Alexander, Susan Collins, Amy Klobuchar, Joe Lieberman, John McCain, Chuck Schumer, Mark Warner and Ron Wyden into my ring of most admired, along with several others.
The first message is that the Republicans have disenchanted me a great deal over the past few years. I’m more likely to think of myself as a conservative independent.
Second, I’ve come to think that mentality is more important than ideology when judging a politician. The people on that list have styles that somehow appeal.
Ah! Appealing style which is so much more important than substance, especially if the person is a substantial conservative. Okay, back to David talking out loud from the couch:
Third, there is the repulsive force of teamism, which is the great corrupter in modern politics. It’s the way people crush their own personalities and views in order to fit in with the team.
And now David comes up with a great laugh line:
Fourth, there is journalism. Even those of us in the opinion business have a duty to stay aloof from the players on the field.
Yes, like the way the MSM (and especially David Brooks) has stayed "aloof" from their beloved Obama.
Should David Brooks unravel into complete incoherence, not to fear. The Times has a house conservative understudy ready to take his place in case of a Brooksian crackup. His name is Ross Who-That (or is it Douthat?) If you hadn't noticed Ross Who-That it is because since joining the Times a couple of months ago, he has made almost no impact as he managed to travel the road from obscurity to nonentity.
Perhaps now that David Brooks has made official his complete non-alignment with conservatism, Ross Who-That can take his place as their official house conservative with no-impact columns that immediately fade into the ether.

Disturbing evidence of how the main stream media blatantly lies to us all
That popular support was for his commie ways.
Not so much.
Watch this and you will see the truth.
CNN and all the others just lie like a rug. Don't believe them.
India isn't buying the whole global warming scam -- What do they know that we don't
He dismissed scientists’ predictions that Himalayan glaciers might disappear within 40 years as a result of global warming.
“We have to get out of the preconceived notion, which is based on western media, and invest our scientific research and other capacities to study Himalayan atmosphere,” he said.
“Science has its limitation. You cannot substitute the knowledge that has been gained by the people living in cold deserts through everyday experience.”
Mr Ramesh was also clear that India would not take on targets to cut its emissions, even though developed countries are asking only for curbs in the growth of emissions, rather than absolute cuts.

THE X-FACTOR
By Church Growth calculations and scientific factors, the first disciples didn’t have the chance of being snowflakes in a furnace. They were lambs among wolves. But Christ invested His managers with a new potential. That potential must be reckoned on today, taken into account. It is the X factor, incalculable with results beyond natural expectations and normal statistics. I commend it as the new winning force; the only one there ever was or has been to change the world – the Holy Spirit!

News of the Future
Newsreel from the near future
Universal International News, in conjunction with the Obama administration, presents Government Newsreel number 903.
Under cover of darkness, GM's top secret new vehicle -- the 2012 Buick Bureaucrat -- arrives at the New York Auto Show. Powered entirely by green energy sources, this beautiful Buick turns heads as it hits a top speed of 200 feet per minute.
Not to be outdone, Chrysler's luxurious Dodge Deficit offers a unique eight-door design, which means your entire family will arrive in style at the soup kitchen.
Good news at the National Healthcare Service: President Obama has promised to airlift hundreds of doctors from Cuba later this month to address the long lines in hospitals. Government officials have also promised to remedy medical priorities that currently place undocumented citizens at the front of the line.
And more positive news on the economic front: the rate of unemployment increases has slowed, moving from 17.1% to 17.4%, a tenth-of-a-percent less than analysts had predicted! Proof positive that Stimulus Seven is working!
As for financing the $45 trillion national debt, great progress this week as leaders from Brazil, Russia, India and China have agreed to meet next month in Beijing. Topic one will be answering President Obama's request to buy more Treasury Bills.
Blackouts continue to plague the industrial Northeast as wind production farms have missed their quotas for the third month in a row. The Department of Energy promises to find new green energy sources by 2013 that should help alleviate the troublesome outages.
The velvet cloak of night did not stop President Obama from introducing his new volunteer corp uniforms. The new cadre combines elements of ACORN, Organizing for America, Change.gov, the SEIU and Americorps into a single, cohesive unit! First job on the list: internal national security to ensure safety for all Americans!
Lastly, a well-deserved comeuppance for hate-speech specialists Michelle Malkin and Glenn Reynolds. They were convicted last week of 800 counts of inciting hatred and sentenced to 20 years in Leavenworth. Hate-mongers beware: expect internal security forces to be knocking on your doors shortly!
Join us next week for more approved news stories, only from Universal International News, the patriotic channel!Isn't this what is happening now?
Directive 10-289
This is from Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, here is a little background. At this point in the book much of the economy has collapsed due to government regulation and the teachings of the modern day. These are a set of directives ordered in the hope of stabilizing the economy. I'd like you to read this and as you go think as ruthlessly as you can and draw parallels to today's world and the laws that are being passed every day by your representatives I think you'll find it interesting.
Directive 10-289
"In the name of the general welfare," read Wesley Mouch, "to protect the people's security, to achieve full equality and total stability, it is decreed for the duration of the national emergency that--
"Point One. All workers, wage earners and employees of any kind whatsoever shall henceforth be attached to their jobs and shall not leave nor be dismissed nor change employment, under penalty of a term in jail. The penalty shall be determined by the Unification Board, such Board to be appointed by the Bureau of Economic Planning and National Resources. All persons reaching the age of twenty-one shall report to the Unification Board, which shall assign them to where, in its opinion, their services will best serve the interests of the nation.
"Point Two. All industrial, commercial, manufacturing and business establishments of any nature whatsoever shall henceforth remain in operation, and the owners of such establishments shall not quit nor leave nor retire, nor close, sell or transfer their business, under penalty of the nationalization of their establishment and of any and all of their property.
"Point Three. All patents and copyrights, pertaining to any devices, inventions, formulas, processes and works of any nature whatsoever, shall be turned over to the nation as a patriotic emergency gift by means of Gift Certificates to be signed voluntarily by the owners of all such patents and copyrights. The Unification Board shall then license the use of such patents and copyrights to all applicants, equally and without discrimination, for the purpose of eliminating monopolistic practices, discarding obsolete products and making the best available to the whole nation. No trademarks, brand names or copyrighted titles shall be used. Every formerly patented product shall be known by a new name and sold by all manufacturers under the same name, such name to be selected by the Unification Board. All private trademarks and brand names are hereby abolished.
"Point Four. No new devices, inventions, products, or goods of any nature whatsoever, not now on the market, shall be produced, invented, manufactured or sold after the date of this directive. The Office of Patents and Copyrights is hereby suspended.
"Point Five. Every establishment, concern, corporation or person engaged in production of any nature whatsoever shall henceforth produce the same amount of goods per year as it, they or he produced during the Basic Year, no more and no less. The year to be known as the Basic or Yardstick Year is to be the year ending on the date of this directive. Over or under production shall be fined, such fines to be determined by the Unification Board.
"Point Six. Every person of any age, sex, class or income, shall henceforth spend the same amount of money on the purchase of goods per year as he or she spent during the Basic Year, no more and no less. Over or under purchasing shall be fined, such fines to be determined by the Unification Board.
"Point Seven. All wages, prices, salaries, dividends, profits, interest rates and forms of income of any nature whatsoever, shall be frozen at their present figures, as of the date of this directive.
"Point Eight. All cases arising from and rules not specifically provided for in this directive, shall be settled and determined by the Unification Board, whose decisions will be final."
Ok that's all of it. Please sit and think about this and what it means.
Finishing Well
TGIF Today God Is First Volume 2, by Os Hillman
07-22-2009
"When Israel became strong, they pressed the Canaanites into forced labor but never drove them out completely" (Judg 1:28-29).
Have you ever hired a contractor to do some work and ended up having to spend time and energy to get him back to finish the job? The small unfinished projects simply irritate you and create ill-will between you and your contractor. If you have been involved in a building project, you have surely had this experience.
God wanted his people to finish the job. He often told the Israelites to remove your enemies from the Promised Land. However, many times they would not finish the job and the remnant that was left would come back and create difficulties. In most cases, the people of Israel would intermarry which enticed them into their enemy's way of living. Other times they had to enslave them, which took time away from their mission.
Whenever we fail to complete a job it creates ill-will from those we are serving. It also violates a basic biblical mandate for every believer to do their work with excellence. The Bible says that Daniel and his friends did their work ten times better than anyone else. They were known for their excellence.
It is often said of American football that the hardest place to score from is the one yard line. That is because the defenses are greatest where there is the most resistance. Sometimes completing a job is like this.
Whenever you have a project to do make sure you complete the job fully. Go the extra distance to make sure your boss or your client is totally satisfied with your work. You may complete 95% of your work, but if it is not completed you will be known for what you did not finish, rather than for what you did finish.

Churchless Christianity - Or, Christians who Never darken a Church door
QUOTE: "I see the church derided with mockery and scorn. I see critics exaggerating her weaknesses and incapable of affirming any of her strengths. I see many leaving the church instead of loving her for better or for worse. I see lots of my peers who have 20/20 vision for the church's failings, but are nearsighted to their own pride, self-importance and mutual self-congratulation. … Increasingly, we hear glowing talk of a churchless Christianity. ...These days, spirituality is hot; religion is not. Community is hip, but the church is lame. [But] we don't want Christians to give up on the church." —Kevin DeYoung, pastor of University Reformed Church in East Lansing, Mich., on why he and a member of his congregation decided to co-author the book Why We Love the Church: In Praise of Institutions and Organized Religion [christianpost.com, 7/20/09]

0 #7 Barbara Studer 2009-07-21 16:40 We belong to the "out of church" Christians. Not because we don't like church , but because we were members in 2 churches and abused in both of them. We were faithful givers, workers and so on. Our time and money went there and we were used and abused. So we left. One day the Lord told me, my biggest problem was , that I don't trust pastors anymore. And he is right off course. I refuse to subject myself to another pastor and be abused again. So we stay out of it. What we noticed and it hurt for a while, not anymore, is that when you leave a church, you loose all of your friends, one becomes an outcast. Even so that one worked right along them for years in the church. So, now we are happy just being saved and out of church Christians. Quote

0 #5 AL Silvestri 2009-07-21 15:45 When believers move beyond simple close physical proximity into active life together- joined and knit together by what every joint (unity in relationship-community) provides- is not giving up on church but becoming Church.
Pure and undefiled religion before God is caring for others, which goes far beyond passive listening. Without the common unity (did you hear community?) acting upon His Word, you only have an audience.
Koinonia means fellowship and also communion, from which comes community.
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Love moves beyond ideals or emotions into action, or it isn't real. Without community we aren't loving the Lord 1 John 4:20.The strength of love shared shows the depth of our own love for God. The depth of community is the clearest expression of this.
Jesus said that by our love for one another all will know we are His disciples. Quote
0 #4 Joshua Ramon 2009-07-21 13:17 I believe God is using the church, as weak and crippled as she may be at times, to lead his people. Many people are seeking relationship in small gatherings outside of organized religion that center around Christ. It seems many of these gatherings become smaller versions of "church". I don't see this breaking off as forming any sort of answer. Breaking off by itself only causes more division.
E.M. Bounds said, "The church is looking for better methods. God is looking for better men."
This is what we need. Deeper commitments to Christ. More time among the poor, the downcast, the hurting. More Isaiah 61 style ministry. When we are among the marginalized, addicted, etc., we will realize our own ineffectiveness to save them with words or well-planned events. They need power. And most of all they need love. We all do. Quote
+1 #3 ROSEANN 2009-07-21 12:40 The church is the people. We meet in a building. Just keep looking for a group where God wants to plant you. We do need each other. Quote
0 #2 Lesley 2009-07-21 11:34 Oh I love the church. Its the place we believers can go to be fed, to nurture and love each other and to feel safe. Its a place to grow, to learn and to give and love as Jesus loves us. We need church, we need other believers to sometimes correct us and pull us into line when we step out of line, but done in love. If we go our own way we will be foolish and ignorant of the greater picture of what God wants to do in and through us. Church is a safe place for new and old believers to grow through their own personal experiences and to impact community and others. Its a place of worship to be built up to be part of the body, of which we all have an important part to play. You cannot be a part of the body on your own separated from the rest of the body…We need to work together as the whole body or part of Gods body, we are all important members, we all need each other. Its about relationship…and we cant have that on our own. God bless and would love to read the book. Quote
+6 #1 Shannon Bivens 2009-07-21 11:30 If the "Church" is the people, how can you leave it? I think people are leaving dated institutions that were created by and then inherited from European Modernity. Denominationalism, the church an an instituted organization, the people of God being "landowners" and overseeing buildings and bank accounts is hard to justify from the NT. People are looking and seeking for depth and authenticity. True spiritual life.
Often times people have come to the Church seeking god and have been given the world instead. Honestly…we are tired of it. Tired of the Board meetings, the programs, the artificial spirit of it all.
That's what they are leaving. In the NT the people ARE the church. Hence they aren't leaving "IT"…they are leaving a form of Godliness.
Evolution is the Ultimate Human Created Religion
So, they create a systematic theology that explains away the creation and the God who created all things. It's all about humans and the supreme evolutionary pinnacle they believe they represent.
Man is born, grows up, develops and then dies. Evolution demands that animals and plants are evolved, grow into new forms and then many cease.
The same is about the origin of all species. There is this idea that beings became more than they are over time. They are not created, they evolve.
So using the model of themselves, the idea of pinnacle of creation, they believe in a systematic evolutionary theology that makes themselves Gods.
I am now more and more convinced that while we don't understand how it all happened or the timing of it all, the reality more and more is that this account is exactly true and complete:
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day" and the darkness "night."
And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day.
6 Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” 7 And that is what happened. God made this space to separate the waters of the earth from the waters of the heavens. 8 God called the space “sky.”
And evening passed and morning came, marking the second day.
9 Then God said, “Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear.” And that is what happened. 10 God called the dry ground “land” and the waters “seas.” And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the land sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came.” And that is what happened. 12 The land produced vegetation—all sorts of seed-bearing plants, and trees with seed-bearing fruit. Their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.
13 And evening passed and morning came, marking the third day.
14 Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them mark off the seasons, days, and years. 15 Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.” And that is what happened. 16 God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, 18 to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
19 And evening passed and morning came, marking the fourth day.
20 Then God said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird—each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 Then God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.”
23 And evening passed and morning came, marking the fifth day.
24 Then God said, “Let the earth produce every sort of animal, each producing offspring of the same kind—livestock, small animals that scurry along the ground, and wild animals.” And that is what happened. 25 God made all sorts of wild animals, livestock, and small animals, each able to produce offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
27 So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
29 Then God said, "Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food.30 And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened.
31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!
And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.
God did indeed create everything and evolution is a fraudulent religion. In 64 years and college degrees in Botany and Horticulture and lots and lots of genetic and origins education. What I know, believe and understand today is that it's all a religion that by design denies the existence of a creator God in Heaven who's name is JESUS.
God Delays
"Yet when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days" (John 11:6).
"Why doesn't God heal me? I have prayed and prayed and I am still sick. Do I not have enough faith? I am so tired of this," said my wife who had gone more than three years battling her illness.
Mary and Martha were very close to Jesus. The Bible says Jesus loved Mary, Martha and Lazarus. Mary was the woman who came and poured expensive perfume on Jesus and the disciples rebuked her. Lazarus, Mary and Martha's brother, had become terminally ill. Jesus was two miles away in Jerusalem during the time of Lazarus' illness.
After Jesus heard the news that Lazarus was ill, instead of running to the aid of Mary and Martha, Jesus waited several days. Lazarus died and was placed in a tomb. His response to the news was: "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it" (John 11:4). Jesus had to look beyond Mary and Martha's current grief in order to fulfill God's purpose for this sickness.
"When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home" (John 11:20-22). Mary was in deep mourning over the death of her brother. When she finally went to see Jesus, she immediately cried out to Him, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died." But there was a pre-ordained plan for the purpose of Lazarus' death. But only Jesus knew this. Jesus healed Lazarus that day.
When we experience sickness and do not see a breakthrough, we can only seek Jesus for our healing and leave the outcome to Him. We must trust that He knows the answer to our need and the timing for its solution. There are times when we experience supernatural healing and other times that we simply do not know why Jesus chooses not to heal. In either case, our devotion to Jesus must not change. God-delays are always pre-ordained for a greater purpose. If you find yourself in this place, bring your concerns to Jesus and leave them there. A day will come when Jesus will reveal His purposes in your situation.
How to Pray for your Children - especially wayward Sons
Here's his prescription :
- Pray that God would supernaturally touch him. Love him. Bring him to Himself. A single touch from God can change everything. It did for me. It did for him, it can for his son.
- Do NOT confess his sin or wayward state before God in prayer. "Lord you know what a loser my son is, what a bad kid he is etc etc etc." Just pray for him. Love him like Jesus loves him.
- It's better to Pray in Tongues regarding him. English will cause you anguish. Pray in the Tongues and you will be less likely to confess negatively or speak curses over him. It's a safe place and the Spirit will pray thru you interceding for your son in ways you never could have.
- Trust God to fulfil his word concerning your son. Listen for a word from God. Trust the power of the Holy Spirit to bring it to pass. It's not about you, it's about him.
- Love him. Don't lose contact. Stay connected. You are the only father he knows now. Don't bail him out, just love him. Don't preach, God thru his Spirit will draw him.

The Anointing of the Holy Spirit looks Foolish to Religious People
Here was a man, full of the Holy Ghost, did Miracles of Healing, Prophesied in the Power of the Spirit and flowed in all the giftedness we can imagine. YET, because he didn't jump thru the hoops the catholic church put in place he was never authorized to hear confessions or preach.
God took this simple man and from him created a powerhouse of a priest that touched hundreds of thousands of people. His life flowed with the grace and power of God.
He is in line to become a saint recognized by the Church. I wonder how many of those people who made the decision to call him "simplex priest" (essentially a second class priest) will be considered for sainthood.
In fact this goes wider. Most of religiosity considers those who are filled and flow in the Holy Ghost to be kind of weird, crazy and simplex. I wonder how many of those scholarly ivory tower sitters will be remembered in the exploits of heaven?
God's world view is upside down of the world's world view. Choosing the foolish things to confound the wise.
Father Solanus was one such. Foolish in the worlds eyes and soon if canonized he may become the first native-born American male saint. And, to top it off, he's from WISCONSIN. How can that be. Not even Ivy League.
Holy Ghost Harrumph.
I saw this on Blessed Economist and thought it worth considering
Long gone are the days when economists thought deeply about how life actually works. Adam Smith, Adam Ferguson, Anne-Robert Turgot – the great "moral philosophers" – all died hundreds of years ago. Since then, the trade has gone bad. They're all numbers guys now. An economist, of the modern variety, is a statistician...an extrapolator...and a mountebank. If numbers go up two months in a row, he predicts they will go up another one. He rarely stops to ask whether his numbers really make any sense.Bill Bonner on Bubble Deniers.

THREE CENTURY MAN
I questioned because of the obituary of a 114 year old man who just died. I suspect in the next year the last of the Three Century people will pass from the scene.
I just think that's something to consider.

Aimlessness and Purposelessness = a Dead End Wasted Life
He has done this all his life. He's careful. Doesn't drink, take drugs or smoke. Costs too much. He doesn't have any friends, they cost too. Ditto a relationship with a woman. Too pricey.
Dave has lived his whole life like this. He currently doesn't own a car, but he has, and when he did, a Red Fiero, he kept it clean and in perfect condition. He was proud of keeping that car he bought used perfect. Almost obsessive.
Dave likes to read, a lot. He is very smart. But it's useless because no one knows of it.
Dave (his real name) has money, lives within his means, lives a solitary life, works, is quiet and never makes waves. He seems to have it all together, RIGHT?
Let me tell you the REST of the STORY. Dave has no ambition, he is aimless, pointless and without purpose in life. If he lives or dies it makes no difference to anyone. He has no desire nor willingness to make any kind of mark on the world system. He has succeeded in becoming completely inert.
He belongs to nothing. Doesn't go to Church or clubs or any group where he might meet someone. Why? money.
If you ask Dave what he expected to accomplish in life or more important what he yet expects, he would say, I don't know, I'll go with the flow. He has no passion or goals for ANYTHING.
He's not a hippy freak. He's just a lost adult child with no focus, no purpose and no mission in life. There was a song by the Beatles, The Fool on the Hill. It spoke about the nobility of a Dave. Well, I have met Dave, I know Dave and Dave has squandered his life without purpose. In a decade or two Dave will die and leave no vacancy where he lived. Dave is 62, it's too late for him. I know men in their thirty's for whom purpose could still be found. They must break out of the dead end life they have chosen. Most won't. They are underachievers who are underachievers because they have the capacity to be overachievers. They have always been able to just get by. They are driven by nothing. There was a book written about this. Your Own Worst Enemy: Breaking the Habit of Adult Underachievement. You can read the whole thing HERE.
I see this in our culture more than I wish I did. It puzzles me. How did we get here? How did people begin to just go thru life aimlessly without purpose or mission? I know many like Dave, Men and Women. Sometimes Women think that their purpose would be fulfilled if they could just find a MAN. If a woman is waiting for some man to come along to fulfil her purpose she is fooling herself. If she would just move aggressively ahead toward a goal that burns in her heart she would find a man who wants to get on board with her in the vision.
The same is true of a man. If somehow he would connect with a woman of purpose who could help him define his, he would find his place in life.
I think the lack of connectedness in our society has much to do with purposelessness. Aimlessness. People without purpose. Jesus talked about the parable of the talents. This is that.
My friend Barry Kolb wrote a good piece on work. I agree with it. The problem is I know people who work at this, piddle at that, fool around with the other and all without purpose. That's the missing component. Working hard at nothing is still purposelessness.
I know that the answer to all this aimlessness is Jesus but for these people, that's just too much work. If you are not driven by anything you will be tossed by everything.
I wish I knew the solution to this. I guess it's not up to me. I wish I could show the thirty something aimless folks I know Dave and his pointless life. Maybe it would shock them into reality. Sigh.....
The divergence widens
That has been happening in the church, within denominations, within church bodies, within organizations. In nearly every single group there are divergent supposed parallel ideals and goals.
The reality is God by his Holy Spirit is placing a non parallel component in people and thus in those groups. He is the factor that is causing splits and divergence. The traditions of men are failing. Holy Spirit is weaning off believers from things that the church has tried to glue onto believers.
As the shackles are being shaken off there are splits taking place. I know some mourn for these events. Why couldn't the Catholic, Reformed, Lutheran, UPC, AG, Anglican Episcopal and LDS fellowships have stayed together? God says, I will see to it you will have no other Gods before me, none. That includes your sacred cow gods. Artificial impositions.
Get to know the God of the Bible before you start trying to cause people to live according to his book. Introduce them to the author FIRST and then to the book. Must of the church is busy trying to get them to the book before they get them to the God of the Book.
And Church Splits happen.
It is God at work, dewrinkling, despotting his bride.
Evenso, come Lord Jesus
The Divine Fire Storm by Reinhard Bonnke
The fire of God is the very heart of the Bible Gospel, His zeal, passion, His burning desire to save us. He put His life in it. It is not an idea, a theory, a piece of doctrine, but a living truth reaching out arms, tongues, flames, embracing the world. Our Gospel is His greatest investment. God’s Word enshrines God’s longings to redeem the lost world.
God came into our world as what He is – fire. To think of Him any other way, as indifferent, just laying down his imperial edict, leaving us to argue and dogmatise, persuade, that misses the essential character of the Gospel – FIRE. A cold Gospel is not a Gospel. Jesus is not a doctor prescribing cures or a psychologist giving advice. He is the God of the Upper Room. We need a remedy but it is for the flame of God to be planted in our heart.
The Gospel is not merely a textbook doctrine. The Gospel is a message not a theological concept. It is news, and news not told is not news at all. Fire that does not burn is not fire. It communicates more than thought, but soul desire.
Preaching the Gospel is to set hearts on fire. Preaching the Gospel is not being clever, not a chance to air our learning, to impress admirers with our eloquence and culture. It is a single-minded passion to let others catch fire.

Unbelieving Believers?
Preaching must in itself be a believing act, fully reliant on God. The truth of Christ is the seed we must sow. But without faith it is seed that has never been fertilized. The gospel won't germinate, spring up, blossom or produce fruit unless it is preached with faith. To hold fast to the faith once delivered to the saints (see Jude 3) is very important, but it is not sufficient. Faith is fruitful, life generating - "by believing you may have life in his name" (John 20:31). It is a vibrant, living process. You are believing, you are receiving, you are knowing, you are seeing, you are abiding in Him. Praise God!
