Worth every Minute of your Next 10 - What if you only had a month to live?

If you do nothing else, you must watch this video. Since this is an excerpt from an Oprah TV show with way too many closeups of Oprah, I'm always suspect. (I'm not an Oprah fan).

This is a redux of the last lecture given by a dying cancer patient who happened to be a College Professor. His attitude is one I want to cultivate. When my brother John was dying many years ago he exhibited an attitude very much like this almost to the last. You will be happy you invested the next 10 minutes of your time. It's not weepy. It's inspiring. Be a Tigger not an Eor.

Tip of the hat to Joy.

Gene, thanks and thanks again

Ya know if Oprah hadn’t had this guy on her show you might never have seen him.
If you never saw it, I for sure would never have seen it.

So trying to shoot the messengers’ taxi driver is kinda silly.

Ok, Point well made.

I'm not a fan of Oprah. She's way new age for me.

Julie makes a great point on this blog post: Here

From Julie:

I loathe the self I see inside of me, and daily I try to overcome what it represents. It is anathema to everything we are told is healthy and necessary to be productive in life. But I question the idea that life must be "productive" and that we must constantly be striving for the next achievement, and that we must "never let go of our dreams."

Nice writing but the girl needs help.

From Nancy:
Abba, I plead the Blood of Jesus over this man. I take authority over every mind binding spirit, every lying vanity that would try to keep him from coming to the saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ and relationship with YOU. He spoke of Karma, Lord. I ask that you send labourers who are meet for him who speak the TRUTH in a factual, intelligent way. So that even though he is making good choices with his dying moments, that they will help him to make GOD choices for the Eternity he will have after his last breath here on earth. Lord I ask that you be with his family. That you draw them close to you. Lord that they never get told religious cliches like "God needed him more than you"...but Lord that You will show Yourself strong to them, and reveal Your heart and character to each of them. I pray for salvation for all of his family as well as for this man himself. Lord thank you for the beautiful gift of human spirit that you breathed into each of us! Help each of us to take that gift and make the very most of it in ways that will glorify You and count for eternity. Help us to so live our lives moment by moment that others are drawn to Christ and shown The Way. Help us to Love as only You can love-Lord love through us and touch through us. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

BOB,
I know Nancy, She does GREAT deeds, not just good.

At some point I will partner with her in Africa and she doesn't even know it yet.

She's a good woman and her prayer is real.

why does she do good deeds?

GOD deeds are much more than good deeds...There is no good without GOD...Life is an adventure that makes more meaning when we are found and founded in GOD...CHRIST came to not only give us a good life, but the GOD-life that takes us far beyond the ephemeral... Without CHRIST a hopeless gloom awaits a man, no matter how good he feels he is.All the good of man is relative and inconclusive until it is based upon an absolute trust in the power of GOD, even, in CHRIST. -OLUFUNSO

Do you do good deeds?

Nancy to Rbb:
Precious RBB, let me answer your question as purely as I know how.
Do I do good works and then if I do- Why? That is question is it not? I shall answer you dear one with the truth of what drives me to do the things I do:

1.John 9:6 NLV (This is Jesus talking- the ONE I emulate) “We must keep on doing the work of Him who sent me while it is day. Night is coming when no man can work.”

2.Acts 10:38 (WNT) It tells how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, so that He went about everywhere doing acts of kindness, and curing all who were being continually oppressed by the Devil--for God was with Jesus. (emphasis mine on the kindness)

3.James 2:15-17 MSG. James 2:14 Dear friends, do you think you'll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? Jas 2:15 For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved Jas 2:16 and say, "Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!" and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup--where does that get you? Jas 2:17 Isn't it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense? James 4:17 KJV Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Do I DO good works, RBB? Yes! WHY? Because Jesus did good works and He tells me to also do them and warns that the time for doing so is limited. And I love Jesus and because I love Jesus I love mankind. The good I do isn’t to save myself- for I cannot and neither can you save yourself. It is only through Grace and trust in the shed Blood of Jesus that any of us are saved. The good I do is because of the GOOD already done to me and for me by the ONE who loves me completely. Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, who for love of ME came to earth and died as a wretched outcast so that I never have to be an outcast. And because HE loves so completely, I try- and I do say TRY to follow that love as my guide in all I say and do. I never want anyone to feel that they are an outcast, forgotten and unloved. God loves them, so therefore, so must I.

Do you love RBB? Why? Is it to get or to give? Or both? Aren’t human beings complex and intricate creatures? Yes, indeed we are! Made by a complex and intricate God who loves freely. Jesus told his disciples: “Freely you have received, freely give.” I have received, and thus I am freely giving to my fellow man. Both in WORD –HIS WORD and in DEED- deeds of love, acts of kindness, given freely with no strings attached that those they are given to may experience the pure JOY and LOVE found ONLY in Jesus Christ.

RBB- do you know, really know Jesus? If not, why? Why would you not want to know the ONE who completely knows and LOVES you so? I pray that you will simply ask Him to make himself real to you and show you the love I’ve spoken of. My prayer for the man dying was one of my kind deeds… that the Loving God I know, will so completely envelope him and his family and take the pain of death from them. That they will know Him intimately and that relationship will carry them through ANYTHING that they have to face in the life here on earth and prepare them for the life they will have after they leave this earth. That is my prayer for you as well dear RBB. God Bless You, God Bless You, God Bless You. (Spirit, soul, and body.) Lovingly, Nancy
