A Question Every Church Leaders Must Answer

What kind of church do you love to attend? What kind of service really does something for you?

Do you pastor or lead that kind of church or service?

If you are a Pastor, Worship Leader, Elder, or any other kind of church leadership, the question is apt.

What kind of Church would you attend if you could, Or when or where have you attended church when it really was deeply meaningful, moving, motivating and lasted a long time.

If the last church service you led or were part of leading wasn't that kind of service, I have a question for you.

WHY?

Why in the world do you expect anyone to attend the service you don't like to attend? Why do you conduct or participate in a church service you wouldn't like to participate in.

Why in the world are you leading a church you don't really even want to be part of?

I know what I love, and if someone came to the kind of service I resonate with and didn't like it, I would say, "There's a franchise down the street, perhaps you should go there". Wave goodbye and feel good about it. I have done so. We don't know who we are and what we stand for. If people don't like it they will vote with their feet. If you have already had some of that, figure out what you like, do that. Others will buy into it.

Trader Joes grocery store had made a good living out of the idea that they only carry product THEY LIKE. If you don't like what they like, you can go elsewhere. If you go to Trader Joes expect some things strange and wonderful.

Too many grocers and too many churches try to be all things to all people. Too much vanilla is nauseating.

Pastor, start leading the services you would want to attend. Who knows, others might like it too.

Trader Joes does OK with that philosophy.

You should expect to buy product loved by the ownership and management. Why should Church be any differeny.

If you always do what you have always done, you will always be where you have always been.

look under 100 Ways To Kill A Concept-same things apply here when you aren't allowed to be a part of the team-whatever that is.

I always refer to Trader Joe's as Trapper John's. I don't know why. I can't remember the correct name. Ever.

Trapper John's sounds rather...questionable.
