Kitten Fighting in Chicago

I'm sure you are aware of the big problem we have with dog fights, pit bulls and all that, in Chicago. In some neighborhoods it's a huge sport. It goes on under the radar (sort of) with the police blinded financially to the "Sport".

Now a disturbing new Chicago bloodsport has emerged. Read this article only if you dare. Caution, graphic details.

Oh, I hope you don't get me in trouble with that - you have way more readers and readers of, shall we say, a more conservative mindset. I hope everyone knows that I am a friend of cats and dogs and horses and birds and all things nature. And while kitten fighting is probably not actually POSSIBLE due to the ridiculous nature of kittens, there is a kitten problem. There are too many of them. A huge number of animals are left at shelters and abandoned at various places all across the country, and many of them end up at city pound or volunteer shelters. And guess what happens to the ones that are not adopted? They are 'euthanized'. Yeah, that means they are killed. 'Put to sleep.' Most of the cute kittens and cute puppies get adopted, but many of the adult cats and dogs do not. The cute babies take homes away that that should go to the adults. And the cute babies trick people into adopting who are not really committed to owning an adult pet, so they get abandoned later. So if you have room in your heart and your home, go to a shelter today or tomorrow or next week and adopt an adult dog or cat. Or two. Then they will play and sleep together and need less attention from you. And if you have a pet, get it spayed or neutered. There is not reason to let your pet have offspring. It will just add to the overpopulation of pets that already exists. Shelters will help match you and your family to a pet and even put you on a call list if there is not a match now. There are adult kitties and doggies out there NOW that need homes and they will help keep you young and in a better mood too!
