Count me IN on this survey

Fema and The TSA are the numbers one and two of the most hated federal agencies by Americans.

Count me in that number. They are horrible failures. I'll add in Homeland security. And the education department of the USA.

This is why I don't want the government doing things they can't do.

Let the airlines handle safety inspections and test them for efficacy and then wack the ones who don't do it well. That'll work.

And, let charities handle flood, hurricane and other relief. National Guard. States rights.

Why is the Federal Government involved>

Fema and the TSA. Dumb and Dumber.

On Witt's recommendation, Clinton filled most of the FEMA jobs reserved for political appointees with persons who had previous experience in natural disasters and intergovernmental relations.
Just as importantly, Witt pulled together his staff and directed them to develop the agency's first new mission statement in a decade. For many employees, it was the first time they had seen FEMA clearly layout its organizational goals....

[As a result of the changes Witt made in FEMA, the time it took to get checks to victims was reduced from 30 days to 7. In 1996 Clinton, recognizing FEMA's importance and Witt's reforms, made FEMA a cabinet-level department. FEMA received high marks after the great flood of 1993 and the earthquake that struck Los Angeles in 1994.]

Had the new oval office guy staffed FEMA with an actual natural disaster expert instead of his campaign manager and later, that guys’s college roommate “Heck of a job”, FEMA might have remained the one of the stars of our Fed, as it was when President Clinton left it.

As for states rights…what is your opinion of bushs’ EPA butting into CA clean air laws.
